I recently noticed the same thing myself when it comes to wasting time doing the dishes washing off my gloves so often. I do it to rinse off the suds so I don’t have to rinse the dish again if some drips from my gloves. I invested in one of those sink grates by finding one that would fit mine on Amazon. I set aside large dishes for the end and am able to scrub all the small ones at once, set them on the grate away from the water and then collectively rinse them. I can even get a head start on rinsing all the silverware by putting them in a cup that needs to be rinsed anyways. It’s saved me so much time and I don’t dread doing the dishes or causing dishes anymore. Definitely helping me have a healthier relationship with food because of it too! Hope this helps!

So I feel like I just get lazy but maybe my mind is sabotaging me.... Either way, I find it helpful to set a 15 min timer for a space to clean/organize and so much more gets done! I can def focus for 15 mins . Maybe that can be useful to you or others out there :)

I found out I may have ADHD from my sister who’s a psychology major 😭 I asked her if coffee made her sleepy like me and she told me why it did and I was mindblown
you are just proving to me that I have wayyy too much stuff because if my space looked like yours does b4 you cleaned I would be living a great life rn loll
Going to try your bin technique. Usually when trying to put something away, I end up working in a new area instead of finishing the original room I was starting out in.
Thank you! I have so much cleaning to do today and tomorrow and seeing my adhd struggles reflected here while I get started is so helpful for reducing the overwhelm! Like it's okay, it'll get done, one step at a time. I may also need some "supervision" from a friend later when I tackle some of the clutter that I can't figure out what to do with (is it trash? Can i donate it somewhere? Should I keep it and create a home for it somewhere? - it's so easy to shut down and put everything in a box and hide it in the closet 😬😆)
Ugh, and the broken dish: yeah I got a brand new, not cheap, handmade terracotta planter. It broke the day after I got it. Been there. One other thing: I know those mops are sold for hardwood and engineered wood floors, but they are really really bad for the wood. The problem is the steam. At around 26:03 it kinda looks like I can see where the moisture has been absorbed along the edges of the wood in some areas, there's that faint line of darker wood? If you're a tenant this probably doesn't matter. But if you own your place I'd consider switching to using a slightly damp microfibre mop that isn't pushing steam deep into your floorboards to avoid warping/cupping damage in the future. ❤
no worries, this mop doesnt produce steam. its just a wet vac so it immediately removes the water thats distributed and the floors dry within 45-60 seconds. The damage at 26:03 was actually pre-existing before i moved in.
I also moved this summer, just a week ago! I was in my last place for 8 years, so I’m feeling very discombobulated. The amount of art i have is insane, I don’t even know what to do with it all! Can you do a decorating planning video? Congrats on the move!
I really appreciate your showing just.how.many.towels you go through in your process! So many don't and I wonder are you using that same microfiber cloth you started with? no rinsing? what the.
thanks! there are so many on youtube that would do it so much more justice than i ever could. they provide side by side comparisons to with similar products and i found them useful so would highly recommend.
Thanks for the relatable video. I wonder why the sun changing light bothers you so much ? That you count down the light changing . To me that was more triggering then the sun moving.
since it’s a behind the scenes format, i included the countdown to emphasize how frequent lighting changes happen as an added insight. i thought it may bring more understanding to why my usual content is edited the way it is. i think it bothers me so much because its a cue that I have to adjust my camera settings for consistent footage (meaning less work in post production) thus interrupting my work flow. and because it takes so much time & effort to even get started, thats not only frustrating but detrimental because finally reaching a state of focus is fleeting. distractions of any kind with an attention disorder means if i lose inertia, i lose all motivation to continue and quit involuntarily. What im often left with is all effort but no results, and that vicious cycle is both physically and mentally taxing.
So good, thank you! Another thing that sometimes helps is a 5 minute timer and then forcing myself to go to the next thing. I can't get bored in 5 minutes right...? Ha. Also: What dish gloves are those? I tried going on the kitchen section of the website and it wasn't there. It also wasn't in the blog posts.
I am the parent of a adult child who approaches tasks in this manner. This is how he cleans. It takes patience to deal with as his mom we get through it .
I do not have a dishwasher, so I hand wash and dry. Actually, I prefer this because stuff comes out of the dishwasher needing to be rewashed. But maybe that's just me lolol Btw, salt makes an excellent scrubber for crusty dishes, as well. Love your floor mop - I need one. And a housekeeper 🤣
Love this voice over 😍 I find my dishwasher saved me more money on the water bill cuz me and hubby water too much water doing them by hand 😩. Btw Who’s the singer at about 7:30 ?
thanks! sorry, I browse/use so many tracks, I don’t know the artists by heart but if you have Shazam app on your phone it’ll find any song by listening to a short sample.
what ive heard (from the very little research that i did, lol) is it may be due to an amino acid that purportedly increases focus & reduces stress/anxiety
yw! oh, and to answer your question as far as a recipe, I generally go for a matcha latte with oat milk & hint of chai or matcha latte with pistachio milk.
8:13 omg too real! I also wash my gloves off before the dish, but mainly so i don't get stuck in a loop of rinsing off dish, soapy glove transfers suds to dish, rinse dish again, soap gets on dish etc..
yes, it is induction and id say it is indeed a bit easier. I didnt have many splatters when using electric but since the heating mechanisms differ food tends not to really stick on the induction because it doesnt burn & cake on
This is the realest representation of how cleaning is for adhd, I was doing laundry and instead I deep cleaned the bathroom when I took the dirty towels out 😂
I hade adhd…well ADD I don’t care what they say I’m never hyper lol. I use a bag to put all items that belong in different places but I forget to empty it. I like the idea of grouping by zones. I’ll try that. Hopefully I don’t let ut get crazy again smh. I do have a cleaning service, they come every 2 weeks but the in between weeks are ridiculous. N meds aren’t working. I’ll keep watching for more tips.
I also set a timer for 20-25, my sweet spot, so I can focus. Then I take a 10 minute break. I set the timer on my stove instead of my phone, or I’ll ignore it. The stove forces me to get up and continue cleaning lol
I had to start and stop this video several times due to me crying because omg it’s not just me!!! Thank God I’m not alone. 😢 I was diagnosed with ADHD 2 years ago(I’m 35) and although it has made so many things clearer and I have a better understanding of how I function now; I still struggle cleaning and feeling over whelmed. I use a similar system with baskets but still find myself upset when something doesn’t necessarily have a “home” and have to catch myself from trying to reorganize while still cleaning. 🤦🏾♀️ I’m just happy to know I’m not the only one who takes 3 hours to clean their kitchen. 😂

I found out I may have ADHD from my sister who’s a psychology major 😭 I asked her if coffee made her sleepy like me and she told me why it did and I was mindblown
same 🤯 i was so clueless why everyone depended on coffee so much to the point of addiction, when it did “nothing”
I actually kinda like the light changes lol it's relaxing almost
Ommmggggg this is literally my head when cleaning organizing😂🥴🤦🏾♀️. Thanks for sharing this! 💛
15:02 the fact that I can relate to this so much just makes me crack up! 😂
I can completely relate..thanks for sharing
This really helped me today. Thank you
youre welcome. hope ur day feels better
Ugh this is helpful. I thought it was only me who had ADHD and hated working up the motivation to clean dirty things
you are just proving to me that I have wayyy too much stuff because if my space looked like yours does b4 you cleaned I would be living a great life rn loll
Lol, this was only the beginning 😅 I dont think I have the courage to share what the worst of it looks like.
Going to try your bin technique. Usually when trying to put something away, I end up working in a new area instead of finishing the original room I was starting out in.
my problem exactly, lol. hope this tool helps
Need more of these videos!
- it's so easy to shut down and put everything in a box and hide it in the closet 😬😆)
yes you will!
thats legit the hardest part! the decision fatigue is crippling, so delegating, definitely a great idea when decluttering 👍
Sure i can! Hope you get settled soon 💕
@@abetweene yay!! Tysm and same to you! 🪄📦
😭 how do you know that I needed this
Came here from a short on sugar wax. RUclips recommendations actually being useful for once.
Happy to have found you. :)
lol, i love when the algorithm be algorithming😅
So real. ❤
I really appreciate your showing just.how.many.towels you go through in your process! So many don't and I wonder are you using that same microfiber cloth you started with? no rinsing? what the.
lol
Whew somebody that understands me 😩😩😩
Love your videos and items, all of them. Can we have a review of your wet vacuum cleaner please
thanks! there are so many on youtube that would do it so much more justice than i ever could. they provide side by side comparisons to with similar products and i found them useful so would highly recommend.
Thank you for this.
Ha.
Also:
What dish gloves are those? I tried going on the kitchen section of the website and it wasn't there. It also wasn't in the blog posts.
i can get bored in 5 seconds. it’s impressive, lol.
looks like the color may be sold out but these are the gloves 😉amzn.to/40vSQpC
@@abetweene Thanks!
I am the parent of a adult child who approaches tasks in this manner. This is how he cleans. It takes patience to deal with as his mom we get through it .
he appreciates your patience 💕
I do not have a dishwasher, so I hand wash and dry. Actually, I prefer this because stuff comes out of the dishwasher needing to be rewashed. But maybe that's just me lolol Btw, salt makes an excellent scrubber for crusty dishes, as well. Love your floor mop - I need one. And a housekeeper 🤣
I would love to be that person. I was poking fun at myself like who does it? cause how can someone be that sufficient 😅 im jealous
I keep a spray bottle w vinagre and dish soap to spray down dishes when I know I won’t do them for a while
Love this voice over 😍 I find my dishwasher saved me more money on the water bill cuz me and hubby water too much water doing them by hand 😩.
Btw Who’s the singer at about 7:30 ?
thanks! sorry, I browse/use so many tracks, I don’t know the artists by heart but if you have Shazam app on your phone it’ll find any song by listening to a short sample.
Would love to see more insight into your systems and lists etc…
How does matcha help you/recipe?
what ive heard (from the very little research that i did, lol) is it may be due to an amino acid that purportedly increases focus & reduces stress/anxiety
@@abetweene cool, I’m going to look into this. Thanks ☺️
yw! oh, and to answer your question as far as a recipe, I generally go for a matcha latte with oat milk & hint of chai or matcha latte with pistachio milk.
@@abetweene I’ll have to try this thanks! 🥰
yw
8:13 omg too real! I also wash my gloves off before the dish, but mainly so i don't get stuck in a loop of rinsing off dish, soapy glove transfers suds to dish, rinse dish again, soap gets on dish etc..
lol, exactly!
Oh I want to ask as well: is that an induction stove? Do you find it genuinely easier to keep clean than a regular flat electric stove?
yes, it is induction and id say it is indeed a bit easier. I didnt have many splatters when using electric but since the heating mechanisms differ food tends not to really stick on the induction because it doesnt burn & cake on
This is the realest representation of how cleaning is for adhd, I was doing laundry and instead I deep cleaned the bathroom when I took the dirty towels out 😂
lol, sounds legit
Great video very relatable
So relatable 😅
Love the video. What laundry detergent do you use or do you make your own?
i either use dr bronners castile soap or dedtegerent cause i can buy it in one of my fav perfume scents
Beautiful house beautiful kitchen 😍
thanks
I needed this realistic mirror image of myself...i guess we twins 😮
I hade adhd…well ADD I don’t care what they say I’m never hyper lol. I use a bag to put all items that belong in different places but I forget to empty it. I like the idea of grouping by zones. I’ll try that. Hopefully I don’t let ut get crazy again smh. I do have a cleaning service, they come every 2 weeks but the in between weeks are ridiculous. N meds aren’t working. I’ll keep watching for more tips.
Oh my therapist also suggested writing down which areas I want to focus on and what exactly needs to be done. Helps a lot
I also set a timer for 20-25, my sweet spot, so I can focus. Then I take a 10 minute break. I set the timer on my stove instead of my phone, or I’ll ignore it. The stove forces me to get up and continue cleaning lol
check with your physican because depending on which medication youre on, some supplements can interfere with absorption (vitamin C for example)
@@abetweene thanks it’s a non-stimulant….I think I need a stimulant.
I had to start and stop this video several times due to me crying because omg it’s not just me!!! Thank God I’m not alone. 😢
I was diagnosed with ADHD 2 years ago(I’m 35) and although it has made so many things clearer and I have a better understanding of how I function now; I still struggle cleaning and feeling over whelmed.
I use a similar system with baskets but still find myself upset when something doesn’t necessarily have a “home” and have to catch myself from trying to reorganize while still cleaning. 🤦🏾♀️
I’m just happy to know I’m not the only one who takes 3 hours to clean their kitchen. 😂
figuring it out one day at a time, thats the best we can do 💕
