lol this same thing happened to me with this band but rediscovered them 15 years ago so nowhere near as long. But still was happily surprised because I loved "Popular" in grade 9
I was on Spotify. Just wondered if Nada Surf had any new music, come to find out, they’ve been putting out stellar music this whole time. This song is amazing! Great work Nada Surf.
Gorgeously transcendent & full of complex simplicity, & over its 5 & 1/2 minutes pulls off the trick of leaving you wanting to hear more. I've been drawn back to R.E.M. recently & this has a familiar lilt & flow I recognize from some of their finest while also being uniquely Nada Surf as no one else can or will ever be, thank you for another amazing look at what's coming on 9/13 when Moon Mirror arrives in style! 💙🌊💙🎶💙🙏😊

Ahhh... great perspective on this darkness that has suddenly surfaced in the world. I was listening to Nada Surf again and stumbled on this gem. Matthew's vocals and views are inspiring, to say the least. He brings me back to my childhood over and over. And the new single, Losing. A slight nod to Kevin Shields and My Bloody Valentine in the guitar line! Love it!

I remember reading some article claiming that Matthew said the next album would be as heavy as The Proximity Effect. Guess that's not true then.

@@mcaws Hi Matthew, all is OK! Though the Proximity Effect (1998 Elektra release) has been my favorite album ever since I got it that year, you guys have yet to release an album I don't like. Reading that statement in that article did in fact raise my eyebrow. However, New Propeller sounds great and I'm excited for the album to drop!
Proximity Effect was heavy?! Nothing in their catalog even comes close to heavy. And that's fine, you need balance. There's plenty of heavy shit in the world.
@@counterfeitmistress7140 Not "heavy" as in "Heavy Metal", but songs like Hyperspace, Mother's Day, Dispossession and Firecracker are certainly on the heavier end of their spectrum.
