For a much better Result you wanna apply this over a 2k clear gloss black surface. and after mutiple passes of graphite - wash it off - graphite over and over. you wanna use another 2k clear over the graphite. it wont dull it and you have a mirror like chrome finish.

@@VaderDadBuilds no problem! i have a replica of the master sword from zelda that ive been meaning to finish but i could never find a tutorial on that graphite stuff.
how do you think this will work on matte colors? im hoping to make a flat blue kind of metallic looking.

I suggest testing with the plastic spoons first. You don't want a finish over your hard work that you don't like. It would be interesting to see what different colors under the graphite.

    That looks very metallic indeed.
I wonder if the graphite coating makes the surface fully conductive to allow for electro-chemical deposition of real metal on the surface.

Great question! Maybe I'll need to try that in a future video.

Awesome video! I will definitely try it! Which mandalorian helmet model are you using?

I bought that helmet before I started 3D printing. I will be doing videos of updating all my armor and will be providing all the free STLs I use.

What brand of gray spray paint did you use and what was the clear coat that you used?

I used rust-oleum with the 5 in 1 spray nozzle for both.

I wonder if this would work with mica powders for nails to get other colors?

Great question! I thought the same thing myself when I was working on these. I haven't had a chance to test it out, but I'll let you know once I do.
