- I wrote and directed this short film two years ago. This project is a personal one and very dear to my heart for many reasons. I wrote this script based on an incredible person in my life and the impact she had while I had her on this earth. It was also my first official time getting the chance to direct a project from start to finish. This project confirmed and solidified my desire to direct and although there are many aspects to this short I would change now having grown and learned further, I will always adore it as my first and incredible experience directing.

Oh my. I really needed this. My auntie passed a couple of years ago in the same month as my nan and grandad and I’m still trying to understand the entire loss of one side of my family. Little things like this help me feel a little less alone in all of this and make me grateful for the time I had with some of the most bonkers people I’ve ever known. My auntie I especially miss because of her balls to the wall approach to life and this really made me think of her. Thank you Meg ❤️ I wasn’t expecting it but sometimes a big cry is needed x

So different from a yt video but i still feel Meg in this ❤
This was very touching, but it needed more time and experience of their bond together to feel the huge weight of her friends passing. Her passing and the aftermath happens off screen which takes a bit of the impact out of it. There is also the fact that the main character is held back and needs to get out there and fit in, that's another story and just needlessly complicates things and goes nowhere. It's a great idea for a character, it just doesn't have space and time in this story.
The reveal that her friend has cancer should of been made known at the start because the character we're following knows it already, I don't see the point of leaving it out for the viewer in this case, might work if she was hiding it from her friend, but she's hiding it from us, the viewer, why didn't we know like her? Had this had a scene or two of the main character helping her friend comes to terms with her cancer news, lifting her up, in fact, them both lifting each other up in their bad times, this would of really elevated this, still touching though. Well done.

Meg, this film was so powerful. I was super close to my auntie before she passed and she had this lively, no-cares in the world spirit too. Not caring what anyone thought and trying to teach me the same ways. Currently bawling, such an emotional piece. Well done for capturing all those emotions in such a short piece 👏🏼
