I love this song. Im from chile, when My son has three years old, i play this vídeo and make us happy. All before the covid. Now, he is seven years old, and i don't play guitar because there is so much work. I like the song. I listened your work for the first time in the tribute to Jason becker.
in the 80's videogame creators were trying to teach a machine how to play like a human, Mattias is now telling humans that is possible to play like a machine!! AWESOME! track of the year! Thank You Man!
Dude, i've been in love with your work for years now and must say, once for all... Hands down: You're the most talented musician out there in AGES. The majority part of my personal guitar heros are guys people just dont know or talk about too much like Steve Stevens, Jerry Reed and so many others in their own styles, from acoustic to total cheesy virtuouso. But you are the bigger, major, crazier, spiritual, flowfull, bananas guy, that just came to reinvent the guitar and its sounds more than any other guitarrist did. You are a bless to mankind, music and the sound that ecoes trough the universe. Thank you so much, so much. I love you, you viking bastard, freak of nature Forever
This is pure genius! I always liked how Mattias can manipulate the guitar, but this ... this is as if he's speaking through it! Glad to hear that he's nominated as the the best guitarist of 2014 by ProgSphere! Mind blowing, more Mattias!!
Honestly, when I am in a shit mood, this is a song I reach for. The playfulness gets me every time and makes me insanely happy. Thank you for the music
The perfect little antidote for the madness happening in the world today. For 4 minutes I can push it aside and zone out. Also, I had no idea you worked with Juanjo before Freak of the Week!
The first time I heard this tune I was firsr awestruck by how complex and weird it sounded then at the end when he plays on the toy-synth I absolutely popped. If you ever had kids who played with that toy you never forget that sound (that and the very off-key cow sound 🤣). Such a wonderful, playful masterpiece. ❤
I've seen so many amazing talents emerge in the last few years. But in the guitar realm, tnis man has moved me the most by far. Just like when I first heard Steve Morse, then Steve Vai, then Greg Howe, and then Guthrie Govan. They all have taken guitar in directions I never could have imagined. Fantastic! And greetings from Memphis, Tennessee U.S.A.!
2:55 Proof that this song pays homage to Eric Johnson's "Camel's Night Out." As if it weren't already obvious. This is the best song I've heard in a long time. Nothing else sounds like it at all and it lifts my spirit when I hear it. It's perfect.
En alldeles lysande komposition. Enkel men komplex, anspråkslös men pretentiös. Kalasbra.
Fantastiskt! 🤩
Been listening to Mattias IA for some years but I've never been much of one to comment on YT vids. This is a great composition imho brilliantly executed (hey - "Brilliantly Executed" - there's a freaky song title someone can use... maybe I'll use it or some variation myself. I love wordplay.) This feels almost like a happier counterpart to Vai's Salamanders in the Sun for me. Vai's tune starts out pretty happy but becomes more dissonant and somber as it progresses away from it's initial melody. You can almost hear the salamanders drying out and sticking to some rock in the sun that was too hot for them to safely traverse. Poor salamanders lol. This song puts me in a similar mood but it feels like the amphibians (which salamanders are of course) remain having a nice little frivolous time throughout. Yeeeahhh, I'm overthinking this aren't I? ;)
A rare modern guitarist who is original enough that you can recognize his style right away. Not many guitarists are like this, more like midi machines.
I have heard many musicians with a profound sensze of beauty, grace and gravity of depth who's performances are transcendant and mind expanding but I can't think of anyone else who translats his sense of humor through music like Mattias. I laughed hysterically at his playful musical jokes while being completely gobsmacked by his virtuousic technique. I would love to see him work with Les Claypool and Mohini Dey.
His legato would be insane if he went down that route, keeping all his tone uniform and smooth, you can see it when he does those burst phrases like at 2:20. But this guy is a total chameleon- love it!
Mattias, You 're a fantastic musician and this song is a wonder, il love it! Thanks very much for the inspiration and the feeling of freedom you give. Hope to meet you some day in France. All the best to you.
You and Juanjo should make a movie together! It would be SO GREAT! Love your work so much, wish I could see you play in Brazil someday...Awesome video! You're the MASTER! \m/
My brother was a great fan. He introduced me to your music. I remember him when I listen to you. He passed away in 2016.

Seriously the best use of a children's toy. I love it when musicians sample unusual stuff.

WTF. It took me way, wayyyyy to long to learn about this guitarist. Excellent and incredibly creative performance.
Perhaps the most incredible timing and hand-to-hand coordination I've witnessed in a virtuoso guitarist.
Loves this song, amazing, melodic, superb...great job Mathias...IA Eklund.
I love this stuff. He has an almost childlike playfulness to this song. I played this for my musician friends,
