1-4 is wacky! I really loved the forgotten 1-4 W4-1 stage. I think joke or gimmick stages can be all fine and good, but I love when the entire stage takes on a whole new look, and had just been thinking how it'd be nice for there to be a 1-4 forest themed level, so that was lovely!

I'm pretty sure that the reason that 1-4 doesn't have any enemies in the original game, was because the firebars were already pushing it-- Each firebar uses 6 sprites, and Mario himself is 2 sprites wide. So, any enemies would've caused the game to flicker, which Nintendo likely wanted to avoid. (The NES has a scanline limit of 8 sprites, which every game had to work around.)

It's kinda wacky that 1-4 has no enemies except -a goomba- Bowser? I actually like upside down levels, when they're made well, it's a cool gimmick. Tip for upside down levels: if you flip your Switch upside down and position it so you're viewing it through a mirror everything except the HUD will be normal, just remember up and down are swapped.
Wow finally starting the super 1-4 world! You should make some levels by yourself. Heres some ideas: 1-1 but its a desert 1-2 but avoid the chain chomps 1-3 but in mario galaxy and finally 1-4 but theres water instaed of lava
