- This test is part of a comparison between robotic and CNC machining. The spindle was attached on both an IRB 1600 industrial robot and a Mazak CNC. In both tests, the machining forces were measured using a dynamometric table. In the case of the robot, forces and moments were also measured using an ATI force/torque sensor. In addition, the displacement of the spindle with respect to the workpiece were measured using an optical CMM (Creaform's C-Track).

it hurts ! needs a much higher feedrate, especially with that high speed spindle motor... cool project though!

You are feeding way too slow. You are melting the aluminum instead of creating chips.
