I do not care about the effects, looping, or harmony. But all the vocal settings are super. I use slight doubling, compression. reverb, delay, and light pitch correct. You can adjust all of them from 1 to 100. You can fine tune your vocals like never before. All the other stuff is a waste for me but its worth the price just what I use it for. It takes up a lot of room on my acoustic pedal board but I live with it.
For those who do not really know who he is, he's from the group 10cc . Ya, the same band that gave us big time hits such as Dreadlock Holiday, Rubber Bullets and that classic, I'm Not In Love. Yes, that Mick Wilson, alright. Still going strong!

thanks for the video, so informative but wondered if you could help me out with the loop recording you mention @13.30, where you say you can effectively record a loop into a pre-set? Did I get that right? What im trying to do is record a loop there I can stop and start it during a song. can you help?
I like the use of the music stand. I’m assuming it’s for the purpose of this demonstration. I’m considering the VE-5 over this simply to avoid the need to bend to the floor to Adjust select etc. Is it a viable option to place this unit on a music stand at live events? Are the pedals easy enough to push without pushing the music stand over?
Is it possible to have two different effects on one preset? For example, can the left pedal activate a radio effect, while the right pedal deactivates the radio effect and applies delay and reverb instead?
Nice man! Just a question here: how do I save a specific effect I want to use? So I dont need to go over to do the manual process over n over again I mean

This is something really new to me, I would really be grateful if your could help me out here. 1. I sing mostly rock songs in a band, will this product be useful. 2. Do i have to connect the guitar to this processor? 3. Will the mike pick up sounds of the other instruments? 4. And lastly do i have to adjust the pitch each time based on the song scale. thanks & Regards Ronson
Ronson Lewis Hi Ronson, The vocal effects could certainly help add some interesting harmony and dynamic feel to your songs, the pedal can be used for all genres. I presume you could connect your guitar to the pedal, but it is made with vocals in mind, i think for that type of thing you would be better off with a looper like the Boss RC range, but there are lots of other great manufacturers too. The Mic will pick up whatever you put in front of it, if you are using a cardoid dynamic micro phone (sm58 etc) you shouldnt get too much bleed from background noise. Yes for the harmony function you would need to select a scale/key from which the pedal can base its harmony. That beiong said i am no expert and i would recomend going tou your local retailer and having a play with one plus check out the bass page for more details www.boss.info/products/ve-20/ Thanks for watching LLHQ

Thank you for a great presentation and review! Now, I would like to get reverb to various instruments (e.g. guitar, harmonica) alongside the vocal, I first connect them to a mixer, and then plug the VE20 into the mixers FX AUX?
You sound superb! Hey, does someone know: if I am mic'ing pitches that are not in an actual key, will the harmonizer work?..like so the harmony or octave sound will be appropriate and not get forced into a conventional key, like for performance art or meditation? Thanks!
I have got a sennheiser wireless mic, and when I connect through my Boss VE20 into the mixer, there is a constant humming. Not sure if it's the setting Is on stero and I'm using mono, or I have another setting incorrect? Any help...
The effects are great, I play saxophone with ve-20, but all the sfx, comp, eq and enhancer make the whole sound too shouty and ringy. When they are all off, using the basic effects is super fun and the looper is excellent for creativity. I wish the looper had an undo and also could be switched off without losing the loop.
The only input is an XLR for microphone, also accepts a 1/4" mono jack, but only for mic signals, a line level signal (such as a synth) sounds very distorted.
put this at the beginning of the chain then. as if its after the other pedals, its canceling them out to make it sound like what it is programmed to do. if your other pedals are after this in the chain they will take what comes out of it and add their specific flavor to the output.

+Sam Lee You can program the pedal to suit. You can create your own presets, so you can have your own "rock" sound. However, to have radio & distortion set so that they are easy to swap to, you would have either the default effect set to either distortion or radio, and have the other effect to be triggered by the right pedal (as the left is complete bypass or looping functions). If you wanted to do clean, distorted & radio, it would be best to create at least presets and change between them. It's up to you & takes a bit of patience to experiment.
Sam Lee Most of the "rock" setting on the pedal is reverb. If you have a mixer that has reverb control on it, I'd suggest using that & using the left pedal (bypass) to swap between radio/distortion and clean vocals.
