    Why is it that endurance Events/ Training seems to change People in a positive way? I Follow Fitness Channels as well, but listening to someone like you , there is such a Difference. It‘s mind boggling.

      Hi Nils, I think it’s because the combination of high heart rate, complete focus on the present, and solo time allow for really connecting to ourselves and getting to know ourselves better. Getting to know ourselves better is the first step to identifying what we want, and usually it’s positive development, and keeping on doing endurance training allows for the space to work and focus on our goals with a lot of clarity. At least, this is my experience and why I keep engaging in it, I value performance but more as something that is inextricably tied with mental development / clarity / sense of purpose. Also (and this is some thing that I only thought about recently) endurance is a moment where there is complete lack of distraction from screens, be it phone or computer 💻 Happy training!

    Great videos PAtrick thank you ! I have some questions about form goggles, i have some issue to know my rythm during open water session/triathlon. I have just bought them and test them in pool session. Do you use them during your half Ironman and Ironman or just training ? The visibility seems to be less efficient, do you have issue about direction with them ? Thank you for all, i will try to do my first Ironman in Hamburg next year !!

    • @PatrickDelorenzi
      @PatrickDelorenzi  Год назад +1

      Hi! Since last year’s ironman in Tallinn I have been using form especially during the races, I think it’s an added benefit (unless you are in Hamburg hehe where you drop gps signal under the bridges. But even then, it’s useful to have total time elapsed anyway) to know roughly what you are doing. I think they are especially useful in situations like a lake with no visibility where it can be hard to understand exactly how much forward progress. In open water the visibility is perfect, no complaints. The visibility in the pool now, I HATE IT SO MUCH, the peripheral distortion is insane and I really don’t understand how they could put out a product like that thinking it’s ok, but maybe that’s just my experience

    • @kevinnabialek9678
      @kevinnabialek9678 Год назад

      Thanks for for your return! That’s exactly what I though during my first pool session with a so bad vision with my form goggle. It’s actually and effort to see the wall coming !! Glad to hear that’s not a problem in open water session/ competition. I will try them in my half Ironman on Genève on Sunday !!
      Thank you for all you videos, that’s really helpful even if it convince me to buy other things like new shoes Alfa fly! I have the endorphin speed pro saucony but I don’t have so good sensations.
      Hope your preparation for the world championship in Nice is going well 🤞🤩

    Hey there! I can see the transformation in your whole energy. The way you speak is so committed and your face looks so healthy and vibrant. You’re an inspiration. I did. Hamburg Ironman too. My first Ironman. I just wanted to get it done and did it in 14:30, all in zone 2. Next goal is to get faster, now that I’ve built the endurance. Do you follow the nutrition advice from Mottiv, because I’m personally concerned about low carb training for me as a female athlete.

    • @PatrickDelorenzi
      @PatrickDelorenzi  Год назад +1

      Hi rosy! Thank you! No I dont follow those guidelines and am the most high carb person I know ahha, I guzzle down sugar, rice, fruit etc 😃. I did train Fatmax oxydation though by doing low intensity sessions, fasted, early in the morning. I think that being a good fat burner and being able to oxidize fats as main source of fuel at a higher intensity is a key factor in sustaining the highest possible pace we can on such a long event. Carbs are life! I’m sure low carb might work for some people, or even for me, but at the moment I find I progress and can train insane eating like a carb monster. Thank you for the comment and happy training!

    Hey Patrick, I would love to learn about how to pace the bike leg of your races. How do you set your desired pace? How to you train for that pace? And how do you setup your bike computer to execute your desired pace?

    • @PatrickDelorenzi
      @PatrickDelorenzi  Год назад +1

      Hi! I use intensity factor, which is the relationship between your FTP and the normalized power you are outputting during a ride/run/ race. This can also be approximated using heart rate, so the relationship between your threshold hr value and the avg hr value you are outputting. Using these reference markets (google INTENSITY FACTOR IRONMAN BIKE LEG) and it will give you what value to hold for a given ride ✌️

    • @PatrickDelorenzi

      The bike computer screen is

      Heyla! Si ma dipende da in quale punto della stagione mi trovo - per andare sub10 le cose principali sono diventare il piu leggero possibile mantenendo un peso potenza alto, e sopratutto non infortunarsi, per cui i pesi per gli ultimi 2 mesi non li ho toccati. Ho fatto pero da novembre a febbraio quasi tutti i giorni. Grazie per il suggerimento!
