The channel "The Charismatic Voice" is actually involved in a university study about how that "growl" singing is produced, because people who do it right can do it for an entire tour without hurting their voice at all.

Never fails, lol. "Oh, this is nice, pleasant, and beautiful."... right when it goes to the subtle drum part at the end of the 1st verse. And we are all like, "Wait for it, wait for it! Yep, got another one!" lmao.

I am a bass singer and discovering how to do growls has sent me to depths I never thought possible. I was already a low bass; now I can go 3 octaves deeper than a typical bass utilizing this technique. I am not even a metal head and I am hooked on Jinjer and bands like Amarth Amon now. The skills and lyrical writing abilities in metal is so underrated.

@@jeffellis7543, to be fair, most reactors stop right around 1 minute in to avoid copyright issues... which the song changes at 1 minute, 10 seconds, making it nearly perfect to get the full effect for reactions. I know it's by pure coincidence, but it worked out awesomely.

Elizabeth Zarhoff from The Charismatic Voice channel here on YT is conducting a voice study on harsh vocals. Elizabeth is also a classically trained Opera singer. Until recently no one really knew HOW these sounds were produced, but she was inspired to find out after hearing Jinjer specifically. Tatiana turned Elizabeth's understand of vocals on its head, so she started collecting data with some of the world's leading vocal scientists. Tati is just one of the artists that will be participating in the study. I can't wait to see what they figure out!

Jinjer rules. Big reasons I'm a huge fan of a lot of your and Tech N9ne songs while not being the biggest fan of rap and hip hop, is because of those added rock elements. Like your songs Unstable and Anxiety hit me in a way that my typical rock and metal preference does.
Jinjers song Judgment and Punishment has a raggae sound to it too. Crazy talented band.

The funny thing about this video, it was to promote their new drummer Vlad who studied piano at University level and converted to drums, yet Taitana overshadows his interesting drumming for this song. Their influences are Jazz, Reggae, R&B, Cypress Hill, Gwen Stefani, to name a few, and they incorporate it into their music, which is classified as Progressive Metal.

From Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, part of the territory Russia annexed in 2014. A metal band that uses elements of a number of genres, including metalcore, djent, prog, and groove metal, with switchups to jazzy and sometimes reggae.
An older song redone here to showcase Vlad on drums, who had joined the band not long before this. But went viral because of Tatiana's vocals. She is mostly self taught, and tries to sound like a male growl, with big influence from Otep and Randy Blythe(Lamb of God). Vlad, Roman (guitar), and Eugene(bass) are all outstanding musicians. They compose the music , then hand it off to Tati. She writes most of the lyrics, but Eugene helped with this one, as both are Pisces.
If you want to see her do it live on tour, which most people do, check out "Perennial" live at Wacken 2019 or 'Pit of Consciousness:" live in Kiev. For a new song (from the upcoming 5th album, try "Someone's Daughter".

Jinjer are phenomenal. So much talent and great lyrics. And yeah, Tatiana Shmailyuk is beautiful with crazy vocal talent. I love seeing people react to this live.
Screams in music take a lot more skill than a lot of people outside of the metal realm realize. It's more involved than just from the stomach or throat. There's so much going on inside their bodies to make these sounds happen. Someone in the comments already mentioned The Charismatic Voice and the work she's doing to explore this, but if I may I'd like to suggest checking out her collabs with Will Ramos from the band Lorna Shore. He's another vocalist who will blow your mind with the things he can do. He even has vocal playthroughs so you can see his talent transcends the studio. Also, super chill guy.

When i was young 16, now 40. i use to listen to Otep -confession or T.R.I.C.. i search for similar music. And when Jinjer came to the scene - Just Another is the song that got me into them and to this day they are getting bigger and bigger and more fans. Perinatal live is another good watch 😊

Otep and kittie were the first time I had heard women doing harsh vocals.

The album version of this has her doing the scream and the regular singing at the same time at the end for some parts. It brings together those contrasting styles in an interesting way.

It's jinjer time and I'm always here for this. This band is something special next level stuff there's no bad songs just some you will like more than others that being said. Outlander and cloud factory are my favorite songs by them. And then your face melts and we laugh it never gets old 😂😂😂😂. Perennial live at Wacken pronounced vaken its a German music festival . You will see the stage presence of my favorite singer right now. Enjoy this rabbit hole it's epic. You can tell the time-line of jinjer by Tatianas tattoos and weather she has dreads, short or long hair. She is married to Alex lopez the drummer of POD. The growling is false folds and it's not easy to do takes years of practice and she has the ability to make it look effortlessly

Her live performance in Kiev of Pit of Consciousness is the lowest I think I've heard her go. As a fan of yours for well over a decade I'm glad to see you experiencing Jinjer now too.
