      @davesworld2132 Sorry, i just had one question I've heard online about removing the weather strip under the hood for the air to be less hot. Some even said the noise of the turbo is even more noticeable like that . Do you think there's any issues doing that, or i should be safe :) i was about to remove the heat insulation too but decided not to do it just in case 😅

    The vehicle comes as a cold air intake. By disconnecting the ducts from the grill you are now pully air from engine compartment. This would in effect give you hotter air then the fresh air from the grill. It does sound louder becouse the air box is now open.

    • @davesworld2132

    *_I did this mod on my GFs 2017 LT Cruze! It's more fun to drive now with the noise. I also removed the hood isolation to make it a little louder. Note to anyone else who does this, I did notice slightly more fuel consumption since the air filter is sucking in more air… especially for those who have a heavy foot 😂_*

    Will the cars computer recalibrate itself? For a turbo car taking in more air isn't necessarily good for the car? More air in your air fuel mixture can cause your car to burn lean which can lead to detination. Not so sure risking the motor blowing is worth the suction sound it makes. But for the those who don't care then this is a pretty cool free mod you can do.

    • @davesworld2132

      Yes it will adjust perfectly fine that’s what the mass airflow sensor is for. That only applies to carbureted cars. and even then based on your theory changing an air filter blows an engine which is pretty much not correct.

      Since then I’ve done a lot of testing and here is something people do not think about. Whether the air is 10° colder or 10° hotter the turbo is so hot that it’s gonna regulate the temperature anyway. And the intercooler is what’s going to cool down the intake air. It doesn’t matter where your air comes in and what the temperature is. An intercooler upgrade is what will give the car actual power increase.

      No that’s a turbo charger code. Typically the wastegate is the culprit. Sometimes it’s the diverter valve. What wastegate do you have ?

    Hey Dave! I just did the air intake FREE mode to my 2017 Cruze after watching your video. You know just to get a bit more fun while driving it in town.
    I was wondering if the fact that the base where the air filter attaches to is loose could occasionally get me in trouble due to the heat build up under the hood.
    Any recommendations?

    • @davesworld2132
      @davesworld2132  3 года назад +2

      I had a subscriber let me know that above the radiator next to the headlight There is the section of that little duct that attaches to upper box. I haven’t tested this myself but the subscriber said if you remove that little piece above the radiator next to the headlight you actually have a 5° colder under hood temperatures and it’s better than before the modification.

      @@viniciusguedes2947 You probably won’t notice a difference. I’m not trying to convince people to do this modification but compared to a $400 cold air intake they are all made of aluminum and they sit in a hot engine bay. My thought process would be they would pull in hotter air than this. The only true intake that doesn’t pull in hot air would be a completely plastic one with an enclosed filter
