      I enjoy these short podcasts from the current En Vogue lineup. I've had a crush on Terry for 30 years, keeping it all the way real. Best girl group of all time. Huge fan of the group, every member including Rhona. But right now, because of Dawn's interviews, the optics are not good for the current En Vogue. Current En Vogue is ignoring the elephant in the room. The diehard fans want Terry and Cindy to explain or apologize or say something specific. Right now, Dawn is controlling the narrative, she's laid out a timeline of events, and she's being specific, even accusatory, while Cindy and Terry are sitting quiet talking about everything but the elephant in the room. There's got to be another side to this story. Dawn has told a story of 20 villians around her and one innocent victim in her. Even if you believe everything Dawn says, there's got to be some reasons, context, and explanations that are not going to come from Dawn. How long will Terry, Cindy (and Max) remain silent? What's the old saying, "If you dont tell your story, someone else will." I can imagine its deep-seated and stressful. I refuse to believe there are gag orders, confidentiality agreements, or other legalities barring speaking on the issues- not if the brand is being attacked. The old school PR approach of remaining silent does not work in the current media landscape. How is that approach working for Oprah and Tyler Perry (as to Monique)? Look at what addressing the elephant in the room did for Will Smith and Janet Hubert. I can tell this En Vogue story is deep seeded, sorted,, and even tearful. But what can come out on the other side of airing your story has to be better than the status quo. And on top of all that, this story is money! And please don't wait for a movie to give us your version, "based on a true story." En Vogue's legacy deserves more. Make the movie after you clear the record properly. Just my two cents coming from a genuine En Vogue fan taking no sides, except the side that leads to peace and healing for everyone involved. Its not too late. In fact the timing is perfect.

      @@DT-we2ye Terry and Cindy have always put dignity and decorum above trying to "look" innocent. While I sometimes wish they would put Dawn's un-grateful, whining ass in check, I've always respected their choice to not get dirty and say things they can't take back. In the court of public opinion they may "look" like the guilty ones, but to some, they look like professional women keeping the legacy of this esteemed group going as well as getting paid. No complaining or lamenting over past wrongs/mishaps from them. They have my respect.

    • @DT-we2ye
      @DT-we2ye 3 года назад +1

      @@jamiebaxter7965 They have my respect as well. Deep in my bones, as a mere fan out of the know, I just believe in my bones there has to be more to the story. I cannot disagree with anything you said. I am really only speaking about their brand, their public reputation, and setting the record straight. If their personal pride or dignity leads them to remaining silent, I'm sure they have their reasons and I totally respect that. But the chips will fall where they may publicly and reputation wise. And that's what controls their legacy, and their pocketbooks.

    Do Cindy and Terry of En Vogue ever talk about how they had sold 30 million albums worldwide with the Dawn and Max, and yet between 1989 and 1997 (8 years), not a single member of the group had made a million dollars? They turned down a record deal from another record label for $15 million (which was a big mistake), Dawn and Maxine wanted to take the $15 million dollar offer, Terry and Cindy didn't agree, so all 4 of them ran out of money and then had no choice but to stay with the label they were on and according to both MAXINE AND DAWN, they only got a $280,000 each (before taxes) to sign. I want them to talk about this on the podcast. Get to the real.

      You don't know what was in any of their wallets. All you know is what ditzy Dawn told you and since you're addicted to drama, you need more of it.
      The fact is, Dawn is stupid but thinks she's the smartest person in the room. You don't know how the other ladies saved and invested the money made from En Vogue nor do you know how much they made. All you know is that Dawn's ass is a broke baby boomer still living with mommy.🤣
      Terry briefly discussed the girls looking for other contracts and said she told them lawyers can tell you anything but we'll be sued. Cindy turned down the contract, per Dawn, because they weren't completely indemnified and there was a chance EastWest/Elektra could go after her husband's pension. So no, turning down the contract with LaFace while still signed to Elektra was not a mistake. Of course, Dawn wouldn't understand this because she doesn't read the contracts she signs -ask Raphael Saadiq. 😆
