    Stay safe everybody! Stay home! This is the last episode from this year's Mexico series, filmed in early March before all of this happened in the world! We are currently at our home in Golden, Colorado and practicing social distancing! I hope this episode brings you some entertainment and let's all do our best to stay strong and positive! Thanks a lot for watching!

    I've owned my Excalibur ii now for about 5 years and absolutely love it for beach detecting here on the Jersey Shore. The machine is actually a multi frequency machine that runs on bbs technology, not a pulse induction machine. The knobs are really user friendly, For my personal settings, I usually run an 8 on sensitivity and a 5 or 6 when detecting in the water (threashold is a little more stable from what I've found. The best upgrade you can get for one of these is a straight shaft. It moves the control tube/battery behind your arm and is so much more enjoyable to swing. That s shaft that it comes stock with is a wrist killer if you spend any serious amount of time out on the beach. The only down sides I've found are that the coil and headphones are both hardwired to the machine (no changing them out for different headphones/coil sizes) There are 2 coil sizes: an 8 inch and a 10 inch, I ended up going with an 8 inch. Overall its one of my favorite beach machines I've ever owned, works amazing in the really mineralized/iron infested beaches around me that other machines just Can't handle.

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  4 года назад

      Thanks for that info, I've seen the aftermarket shafts and think they'd be great for diving as well.

      Man! I wish I could find a "like new" TDI Beach Hunter but they are nowhere to be found. I should've bought one when they were still available. Instead, I went with the Surfmaster PI Dual Field. A great detector in its own right. Still wish I would've gotten the TDI Beach Hunter though.

    The Excalibur is great, BUT:
    the knobs are extremely cheap and frequently break,
    there is no discrimination,
    the Whites TDI BeachHunter does everything the excalibur can (and goes deeper), it has a two-coil system (find smaller things EX misses), and it is very robust. Not to mention it's cheaper.
    But the best detector is the one that works for you, so anything you like is perfect :)
    Good video, Shane
    Looking forward to more kinds of metal detecting videos
    Maybe you should go visit sluicegoose in florida and metal detect with him :)))

    I was thinking back when i was a kid. Then being late 50's through the sixties,i remember climbing a number of tree's. Often times it would be to lounge around on an upper branch picking off the fruits the tree had to offer(choke cherry's,cherry's,apples),or to build that awesome tree fort no body attacked. Often times in the process of doing the above, all of us at some time or another would lose our pocket change,jewelry or other. When ever i drive by a very old oak tree i think to myself,.how neat would it be to reclaim some of the change i lost, by taking a metal detector and do a sweep under those mighty trees. Has anyone ever did that with luck?

    I have this detector and the discrimination is fantastic as this is the way I prefer to hunt. However, for those that say "run your metal detector with no discrimination and dig every beep", why not just use a PI detector then? I mean, if you're not going to use discrimination, at least a PI will give you additional depth while you're "digging every beep".

  • @Basca112
    @Basca112 4 года назад

    funny ending, you came home with trash she came home with treasure, ofc its not about what you find it is the hunt.

    This detector didn't impress me either since I'm not into scuba diving ... And again I have an old White metal detector that will do exactly what that detector did and I probably paid 2/3 less for it years ago... But I have to say this ... Minelab has impressed me with their ability to charge high prices for adding a few nobs and waterproofing but not really improving the ability of the metal detector to detect less trash and more treasure... When they come up with a discriminator that actually truly filters out worthless items and pin points metals of value then I will be truly impressed and my back will thank them but as for now I can only say " lick your calf over, back to the drawing board and swing and a miss Minelab ..

    Crazy how everyone just give up their rights I'm not giving up one single one of my rights I'm going to ride my motorcycle I'm going to do what I want to do I'm not going to hand over all my rights to the government the way everyone's doing I can't believe everyone else just surrendering themselves
