I think the way Supercell's designing him is, that shield is supposed to be a counter against the usual tank-air def defense strategy. You'd normally put down something like your own tank, swarm or a splash minitank to deal with it. Now, the Wizard's shield protects him from that, letting him survive. Given thre recent proposed nerfs, this feels like the first Evo that is balanced around being a good bonus to the deck...maybe since the original Evo update. I'm eager to see whether or not this shield would make him too powerful.
I feel like the knockback is a little much. However I do feel like the wizard should get some attention before they inevitably nerf his knockback. I do completely agree how this is more of a default support and not super buffed support. The shield will definitely help with anything, and I think he'll be maybe the 6th best Evo, maybe top 5?
@@IXIRaygun a lot of Evo's will go unnerfed next season as far as I know, so top 5 could be a bit much..? But it will definetly be a *good* evo, unlike a few we've received in the past

Off the top of my head, he counters FC, Archers, Recruits, Valk[?], Bats, Ice spirit, Skeletons, Wallbreakers, Bomber, Barbs...He only struggles against Knight[for obvious reasons], Mortar[will still get hits] and RG. He counters most evolutions.

OP compared to a normal card? Somewhat, but compared to other evos? Actually seems balanced. Evolutions should just bring a powerful unique ability to the card like a shield, range, bouncing bomb etc, they should not buff the base damage and Hp because that is as frustrating as dealing with ocerleved cards
The only good thing about this is the knockback of the shield, because its troop counters are gonna kill him netherless but will have less health, and the fact that its immune to spells, but its still a 5 elixir card with less versatility than all of its substitutes, only good on swarms

Ngl kinda controversial but, because it's the wizard I think he should've had a small buff to make the card a little more viable (Say a small attack speed increase, or slightly more damage (410 to 450) or something) but not a health increase

Honestly not a fan of it maybe cuz its not unique with the shield thing. But a cool concept woulda been troops/buildings burning a little for a few second or so when the wizard throws his fireball. Similar to firecracker evolution

To be honest, the evo wizard seems pretty good . The Clash Royale dev team did a great job with him . I'm excited for him even if I am a f2p player
