    I love This video, I love that country,looks like great riding. I especially like the fact that you are not a kid anymore and are still riding,I am 64 and hope to have many more years of motorcycling to come. I have a 2015 fj09 as well and have a new vstream windshield in the basement waiting for the snow to melt and be installed, I have the same issue with the seat and have been struggling to find a solution,that butt saver you have looks very interesting,I wonder where you got it and is it available in Canada. Thanks for the video I’ll look for more from you later

      Thanks Brian for the note. I bought the butt saver off a guy who has 2 of them. I'm sure Ebay or Amazon has them. And great on the FJ-09. Today we are installing Sena 30K Comm systems in our helmets. Riding buddy of mine and myself went in on the dual set (2) so we bought them together and saved about $75 each. I'm working on a video showing how to update the firmware, install the headsets, and IF they really work as advertised.
      And we've been riding all winter and it's been really great plus the roads we ride are not that busy so that's a big plus. All the best.

    Love the video. Thanks for sharing! I got my 2015 FJ09 a couple months ago and I can't imagine riding anything else now. I agree that the turn signals are a PITA, but everything else about it is just great.

    I bought one last year. It's the most comfortable riding position I've ever had, which was always a challenge at 6'3". It doesn't put out too much heat in summer, plenty of power, lots of torque. I've had 8 or 9 bikes, and it's my favorite.

    I just came across your video August 2019 , so I am a bit late commenting. Thanks for the post. I have the same year 2015 , FJ09 up in Canada. I bought mine new and really love mine. Due to very short legs, I had to lower my suspension. This did not harm the handling in any way. I have the very same aftermarket windscreen as you but I switched back to the factory one. I guess I am short enough that I don't get blasted by the wind too much. Im 64 and have had many bikes in my time. My last one was a 1982 Honda CBX. It was as heavy as 2 of these Yamahas. The Yamaha also handles extremely well. thanks again for your post .

    • @RobertMacCready
      @RobertMacCready  5 лет назад +1

      Your welcome. And your info is very helpful. I really like my FJ-09 and the only issues I've had were nails in my tires (2). The bike is very reliable and has plenty of power. With the new tires on the bike handles even better. And the ride quality has improved. Miles of smiles on that Yamaha to ya.

    Robert, if you don't know already on the 2015 the oil plug protrudes down pretty low and poses a fair risk of damaging your oil pan if it hits something, please consider swapping to a '16 or later oil pan or an allen key oil plug (if you do that one grind off the plug guard since it will no longer be needed and sticks down too).

    Hello Robert, I have been looking at other sportier bikes to go with my 2019 Goldwing tour DCT to do some fun rides when my wife isn’t with me. It seems the Tracer 900 is what I’m most interested in, just the basic model not the GT. Pricing for a 2019 is at 8.4k OTD. My research is showing me that no bike in this category comes close in matching those numbers. If I want all the bells and whistles, I will ride the wing. I’m in Michigan, but have a place in Sebring Florida that we hope to use as a winter break at some point. Enjoyed your video.
