100% it’s affordable and stealthy which means you can literally go anywhere in it
You can open the barn doors further by pulling the metal latch when the door is open a little bit. Then you can open it like bat wings.

I’ve gone from a VW T5 full camper conversion with pop top to a Ford van same size as that Caddy & it’s great. No units or bed just a sim on the floor & seats forward.
All cooking & admin done outside under an awning mounted to the roof rack…..
& I love it.
Mind due I’m only 5’8

Hi Will, great to see you again, that was a cute van camp, a little small for me, I have a high top transit connect van, I can sit up in it without hitting my head, thankfully, I guess it was just like sleeping in the Galaxy you had. I have a Peugeot partner literally the same size as the Vw I’m shorter than you and was in the Cairngorms last night had a great sleep. Been away on weeks trips many times. The small vans are ideal for parking anywhere stealthy. Loved this series well done.

Inspired by the horses in this video Will, as a suggestion, how about camping in a traditional traveller caravan, pulled by a horse? They are lovely things and at one time, whole families lived in them. Thanks for the series by the way, it was great.

I have the same dub. Old painters wagon that I've recently converted and fits all 5'10 of me in for a night or two. Predominantly used more to wakeboard. So I can throw all my kit outside on the campsite and then I have enough room. As you do Will- love the stealth of it and the fact that it's easily manoeuvrable. Great video!

Another awesome video as usual. This is a similar setup to my '98 Toyota Estima but I'm only 5'4" so I don't find it quite as bad. I do have an awning that I can put on the side or back of the vehicle, which helps create more living space. I have found that most people with vehicles like this tend to live more outside than in. You are one brave man. I'm thoroughly enjoying these videos and I can't wait to see the next series.

I tripped over this series Will from the french caravan..now I need to go back to the start and see the rest...well done on the entertainment factor...I own a Honda Odyssey 7 seater and I've converted the back to use as a car camper..I got a fold up camp cot that I put in the back..I haven't removed the seats because I still use it as a people mover, but now the dog and I can go away for a weekend when I want to..

@@WillsWhereabouts I'm an Aussie, but I have done two driving holidays around the UK..it turns out cheaper than staying in hotels/motels/BnB's...I found lots of nooks and crannies that I could free park in over the two trips, though some may no longer allow overnight parking..the adventures I had..the sunsets I got to see..the first one, 2014, I hired a Wicked Camper, the second, 2017, I hired from a different company..the UK is a beautiful place to explore in a campervan..

Hello mate , my girlfriend and I just spent 2 months travelling Europe in our SHORT WHEEL BASE vw caddy , neither of us are small either ( I am 6’1” and she is 5’9” ) we had a blast though and slept amazingly 😂

Oh Hilarious, I’ll have to catch up on these. Iv Got a Nissan NV200, does what I need for me and the dog, I’m adding more to it but I love it. Also great for family as rock n roll bed very wide. Plus has inside lights. Would love a pop top and swivel seat but need to save for that. Love the new forest to. Enjoy

Get a caddy maxi , inside they are 7 foot long whereas this one is the short version which is 6 foot long .

Love the series! You need to get a hold of the guy you sold your old rig to and revisit your OG Galaxy!
See if you can get hold of one of the old style Citreon Picasso's with the removable rear seats and the flat bed floor. I used to have one and did most of the Wainwrights camping in that. It was litterally an inflatable bed in the back with a duvet and pillows. I mainly went onto campsites and took a stove a chair and a table etc but also did some wild camps in it. Not at all stealthy as everyone could see through the windows as I had no blinds etc but it worked and I am 6 foot. I used to love camping in that thing simplistic as it was.
I love the van conversion, but at 6 foot 5 inches I might find it a challenge!
Would love to see a box truck conversion. But I love this series!!!!

My first van was a Ford Transit Connect LWB. Just as easy to drive but has more width and height. I could even have a crouching shower in the back.

Whoever built that camper needs to review his/her build. The bed is better with the base installed just above the wheelarch. This allows full sittingbheadroom. Also, pulling the seat forward, as you have, allows for an extension to be fitted to the end of the bed allowing over 6 feet tall people to sleep in comfort. How do I know this? It’s what I did in mine and I had a 3 week holiday in Italy in mine.
Loved the new direction. It was top notch. I would love to see you try a traditional traveller horse drawn home. I think they were called a "vardos". They are available for rent around the west coast of Ireland (mainly Galway and connemeara)and parts of the UK as far as I know.. let's see how you would get on driving that one horse power baby.. I think it would be an epic adventure.. 😂
Well Done Will! As for what's next - maybe give some outdoor tent camping a go? There are so many tent attachments to the back of either cars or suv's that you should be able to find something ! Thanks again from a fan in Southern California 😃

Have to say though, when you were trying to get the back doors open with the key, the first thing that went through my mind was omg he's going to be sleeping with his feet hanging out of the van 😂😂.

This first series has been very good I’m looking foreward to seing the next series.
Maybe get a cardboard cutout will to check the beds are long enough.
It would be interesting to see a bigger van like half the school bus ,an access bus size 14 seater size.
Or a gypsy old wooden caravan.
