Hi, I have an Admiral Electric dryer. It was not heating. I replaces the thermal fuse and the thermal cut off as well. After these replacements, it started getting heat to it. I have continuity to my heating element, but I have to restart a load twice to dry it. I have cleaned all the lint out everywhere. What else do I need to check to see why I'm having to restart each load twice in order to dry it?
Patty I would take off your vent from the back of the dryer and run the unit. If it heats with the vent off you have a vent issue. Also sometimes you can have continuity to the heating element and have a bad element that is busted and shorted to ground. If the vent does not solve your issue take out your element and inspect it for a break around all ceramic connectors. ***** Thanks for the reply! I managed to figure out the issue. Turned out one of the fuses on the heating unit was bad. It was the smaller one on the upper part of the heating unit casing. The high thermostat fuse toward the bottom part of the casing was good. I took the bad fuse to a parts shop in my city and they had a kit that contained both the fuses so I went ahead and replaced them both. So far, my dryer has been working like a charm! This video really helped me out a lot and gave me the confidence to get the job done. My dryer is an electrical Admiral one similar to the one in this video but it's model number is AED4475TQ0.
