    Thank YOU so much for your informative video on repairing my Admiral dryer which stopped running. You saved me $200.00 expense paying a serviceman to repair my dryer. You are a genius, showing me how to check the fuse, which was blown and the thermal resister. God bless you in all your endeavors!

    Hi, I have an Admiral Electric dryer. It was not heating. I replaces the thermal fuse and the thermal cut off as well. After these replacements, it started getting heat to it. I have continuity to my heating element, but I have to restart a load twice to dry it. I have cleaned all the lint out everywhere. What else do I need to check to see why I'm having to restart each load twice in order to dry it?

    • @Appliancevideo
      @Appliancevideo  10 лет назад

      Patty
      I would take off your vent from the back of the dryer and run the unit. If it heats with the vent off you have a vent issue. Also sometimes you can have continuity to the heating element and have a bad element that is busted and shorted to ground. If the vent does not solve your issue take out your element and inspect it for a break around all ceramic connectors. ***** Thanks for the reply! I managed to figure out the issue. Turned out one of the fuses on the heating unit was bad.
      It was the smaller one on the upper part of the heating unit casing. The high thermostat fuse toward the bottom part of the casing was good. I took the bad fuse to a parts shop in my city and they had a kit that contained both the fuses so I went ahead and replaced them both. So far, my dryer has been working like a charm! This video really helped me out a lot and gave me the confidence to get the job done. My dryer is an electrical Admiral one similar to the one in this video but it's model number is AED4475TQ0.

    I noticed that you determined the fuse was bad, but you replaced the thermostat as well as the fuse. Why is that?

    • @Appliancevideo
      @Appliancevideo  10 лет назад +1

      Jerry
      It is common practice to replace both. If the thermostat is not cycling at the proper temperature it will blow the fuse. For six dollars its not worth taking the chance . You have this video titled "Not Heating" yet you say in the video that customer says it won't start, which it doesn't. Maybe you should re-title this video as "Won't start"? Enough of that.
    My real question, same model. My dryer runs but it's not heating. It stopped heating on "Auto Sense Dry High Heat" so we were drying "Timed Dry High Heat" but now that has stopped heating. Time Dry high heat came back on when I was just tumbling the clothes. Could the thermostat be a culprit? How do you determine if the heating element is bad. Should there be a certain ohms/resistance that can be measure on the element? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
