- so in this video, i go over what happened. im thinking, this was caused by my RS being exposed to direct sunlight when i went to the gym. it was 70 degrees Fahrenheit whenni arrived to the Gym at 8am and 79 degrees Fahrenheit by the time i left, which was around 10:15am. the only thing i could say for sure is that it was pretty humid from the time i left my house to the time i got back from the gym, so maybe humidity caused it? well i did get in contact with voromotors since its been 24 hours since my scooter malfunctioned so lets see what the outcome is as they think i will be needing a new central controller which im experienced enough to change my own parts. In fact, my troubleshooting is what helped narrow down the problem because, at first i was thinking it was the rear driveboard. date of malfunction 8/14/2024. #voromotors #inmotionrs #inmotionglobal #inmotionscv #theaverageguy1983
Man. That really sucks. Hope all WORKS out. With That said. Your scooter Looks Amazing. 👍🏾
@chrisdudley8366 thank you very much. Yeah i take really good care of this scooter so im thinking what messed it up was probably having it in direct sunlight while i was at the gym.
Sorry to hear that, bro. Voromotors or Inmotion should get that to you in way less than 3 weeks, so you can get back to riding.
@KiziEwheels i sure hope so. Im pretty patient, though, and gave VoroMotors a lot of good data to narrow down the issue. 😁👍
Aw man 😔hopefully u can get it back for them rideouts
@4Astonic7 me too. Om thinking it was the direct sunlight from were i had my scooter locked at while i was at the gym that caused the problem. But hopefully ill get the part thats needed, install it myself and get it running again.
@@THEAVERAGEGUY1983I should probably keep my scooter outta the summer sun now
@beerussama7093 im starting to think that would be the best thing. i know I've gone 6 times to the gym and have parked in the same spot 5 out of 6 and haven't experienced any issue, but I've also gone in the late evening vs. the morning time. So it's probably better to do 1. Bring my scooter umbrella and see how that works out to cover the majority of the scooter or 2. Just dont have it parked in direct sunlight.
@@THEAVERAGEGUY1983 oh danggg thanks for letting me know I leave mine on sunlight aswell ima start leaving it in the parking lot downstairs and locking I was looking for a display cover so the sun doesn’t affect it
That sucks man. Hopefully it gets worked out soon and we ride
@artartpal absolutely! I have a Segway GT1 but i can only get 22 miles of range riding at 24Mph and thats no fun lol
Sorry to hear ,hope you get back on the road soon. cheers!
@jakeanddar thank you, im sure i will. I just gotta get the new part, install it, and from what i was told, set up again with the Inmotion app. 😁👍
I hope you get it fixed soon. That sucks!
@MikeFoerster thanks mike, im sure i will. I just gotta get the right part, install it and set it up in the Inmotion App and ill be good to go again. 😁👍
Is it possible this problem was caused by all the additional electrical items running thru the drive board? The (much) larger Wolf Kaabo light, the ACRUNU light, the GPS, etc, etc? It looks like you have a *LOT* of electronics on the front stem. All that will put an extra electrical load on whatever they run thru... from the wiring, the board, etc. Perhaps it blew something out on the central controller, or caused a short between the central controller and rear drive board?
Love the videos btw. 😊
@Ray-xx5np the only thing on the central controller is the Kaabo light and that still works. The GPS' dashcam, TPMS have their own dedicated battery and are NOT connected to the driveboard. So this could have just been a random wear and tare issue. It just happens sometimes, just like with cars. Things randomly go bad and have to be replaced. 😁👍
Oh man, sorry to hear that :(. Good thing you have the GT1. Hopefully they get you the part(s) ASAP so you get back to riding it again. Are you going to do group rides on the GT1?
Hey Tom, thanks for the positive feedback, yeah it seems VoroMotors has decided to proceed with requesting Inmotion to cover a Central Controller under warranty. The last thing i did for them today was remove the rear driveboard and wired it to the front and the front driveboard to the back and sure enough everything worked innthe front including the lights for the front and the rear still got a 209 code with a functioning driveboard so i still got no rear brake light. Turns signals or rear motor working. That was definitely some work on my end but glad we ruled it out.
As for going on group rides in the GT1, yeah as long as it isn't more than 22 miles cause that's all i get in eco mode and i get a whole lot less in Race mode lol but i do have dual chargers and that EV charging station plug should i need to charge somewhere but depending onnthe group ride some make 30 minute rest stops and some only 5 minutes. 😅
I love my GT 2 it's super fast and reliable not fast as inmotion V2 but fast enough.
@coolshariq the GT2 is an amazing scooter. I have the GT1 and for that it is and the price i got it for is a good deal.
Damn that sucks. Was really looking forward to a video on all your mods, is it covered by warranty?
@beerussama7093 So far, yes, im just waiting for Levin to confirm what part they are going to start with. It's either going to be the rear drive board or the central controller.
Bro sorry to hear, i got this scooter from Inmotion website, i only have 180 miles on it, i got the haze blue limited edition. Not even 200 miles on it and i have this noise from the front motor, idk if the bearings are good or got damaged, with them trying to resolve this issue. Its hard to get asap answers when they all the way in china.
Wow yeah man that definitely sounds like a wheel bearing problem, its not easy to repair and the job will be messy so hopefully they send you a new motor. They usually send them with a new tire attached as not everyone knows how to repair a scooter or have the proper tolls to repair it as well as change a tire. Even i dont have all of the required tools to fix my RS. Today i had to purchase a new tool which is a low profile hex key set so i wont have to remove the rear control arm again should my driveboards go bad next lol.
@@THEAVERAGEGUY1983 I dont know what they working on, exactly it has to do with the bearings, so im waiting for them to make the decision i probably do need a new motor. Cuz definitely when i ride ppl can hear the squeaking noise, idk just with 180 miles on it, idk if i get more problems down the road. I also had an error code 217 at the second time riding this scooter. It said and over current to the controller but never had it again. Hope you get urs taken care off. I seen you got it hooked up with cameras lights 👍🏼
Ive read many comments on you videos, and most of them are not good. As they keep saying it has many problems including the motors and some errors. My question is, is it worth 4k from voro motors or should I get the dualtron thunder 3 instead, cause thats also pretty good
@timuryakubov5235 its a little hard for me to recommend the dualtron thunder 3 as i have never seen one in person or ride one but on the RS it was working good up until i had it in direct sunlight for 2 hours which was probably not a great idea. I would only recommend it if you know how to self repair scooters. The same goes with the dualtron thunder 3.
nooooooo damn! that stinks man. warranty?
@cocoabiscuits i know it does. I am glad i have my GT1 as a spare. But yes it will be a warranty claim for a replacement part.
Why I haven’t bought one , seen too many issues
@asilaydying1984 yeah i wasnt expecting it to have the rear driveboard controller have a connection problem. I know have to wait and see which part they will send me first and how long its really going to take cause they are making it sound like they dont have the part and im gonna have to wait for Inmotion to send it to VoroMotors and then VoroMotors send it to me. 😅 at least i got almost 600 miles. The front works fine and i can put it in front motor mode and use it but i have no brake light and no rear turn signals at the moment because of the communication issue between the central controller and rear driveboard. But to be fair to all scooter companies, they all have a scooter here and there that ends up randomly failing from a defective part. Might as well stay away from electric scooters in general as they will always have some sort of issue be ir a tire, a valve stem, a battery issue, etc. Im just gonna try to keep my scooter away from direct sunlight on super hot days.
Sorry to hear that had happened. Do you happen to know what part needs to be replaced for a 109 code? I have had 3 parts replaced to get my front motor and front 2 deck lights to get working and none of them have fixed me 109 error code on the inmotion rs lite, so I contacted VoroMotors and Melvin is working with inmotion to see if they can send me a new front motor and the 2 deck lights, but it will be a little bit since they aren’t sure yet if that’s exactly the parts I need. I was sent a new front controller, a new cord that plugs into that front controller to the front motor, and a new control module (which is housed inside the stem along with the horn), and I am still have the error code.
@flarepugzzz4883 wow yeah at the moment that is exactly what is going on with the rear motor controller, i have no brake lights, no rear turn signals and no motor power but it is giving me voltage for the Ambient lighting plug that Inmotion left free for us to use to power an accessory up to 1 amp of a current draw but on mine is code 209 for the rear. I was told that it sounds like a central controller, which is what the voromotors techs are calling the module that's on the stem. But for me, everything works in the front. So it's hard to say what it actually is. I have some experience fixing scooters, but without extra parts, i can't diagnose my scooter properly. So my next thing is to remove both the front and rear driveboards on the deck and swap them to the opposite side. Wire them up and see what code i get. If it still says 209, even though i put the good driveboard on the rear and no 109 code at the front driveboard thennits definitely an issue with the Central Controller that will beed to be replaced.
@@THEAVERAGEGUY1983 So you’re saying it’s more likely an issue with needing a new controller than a new motor? Because they are planning on sending an entirely new front motor, so hopefully that can fix it
@flarepugzzz4883 i would honestly let them send you as many brand new parts as possible while under warranty this way if the motor is not the issue, you dont have to send it back ahd they can go back to the drawing board with assisting you further. These parts are very expensive so thats what i would do. I just called VoroMotors just now because i removed the rear driveboard which was a little challenging to remove the top rear screws out of the 4 holding the driveboard in place and asked them in the voice mail if they would like me to bring in the central controller and the rear driveboard that is giving me the 209 code. But....... they seem to be busy at the moment so i am apparently supposed to get a call back.
@@THEAVERAGEGUY1983 yeah that’s a good idea. Thank you for doing all this testing, and if it ends well are you going to do a video on it? Because I might just copy whatever your doing to mine and hopefully that will fix both of our issues
I had this scooter 3 days and it started acting up and losing power. For 4k, thats pretty awful
@romankalinchuk2750 that is definitely messed up, yeah Inmotion really needs to do some serious Quality Control inspections before sending these units out to their customers.
Mines low keys cuts off power from 45 mph plus not sure because it’s 90% out but it does it after driving for 13 miles plus
Mines at 367 miles fucking jp 😮
@mando-hondadc2992 damn. If you bought it from a dealer, you gotta get that covered under warranty. Chances are that it's also your central controller giving you the issue just like mine. At this point, mine was considered wear and tare, but the part h definitely been approved for replacement. Get in contact with the dealer my this should definitely be covered for you. The only thing you would have to do is replace the part your self doing the labor work like im doing. Its easier than having to ship the scooter back for repair or have to lau someone labor work cost. 😬🙏
@@THEAVERAGEGUY1983 i purchased mine from the website it self, I do a lot of day driving vs night. I have to take it out at night see if I get the same issue
Part out?
@coolshariq part out? Nit sure what you mean by that but its an easy fix for me i just gotta get the part and install it.
Hello friend, how do I remove the speed lock? It accelerates only 25 kilometers per hour..
@Artem-kolosnitsyn hello, you just need to bind the scooter to your name as the owner under the Inmotion app. That's all i had to do to unlock my scooter speed as well. I hope that works.
