- Keyboard version of 10cc I'm not in Love.
I couldn't figure out how to finish this track, so I turned the effects off one at a time; then I thought it might be good to turn them on one at a time at the beginning.
The start is straight piano, followed by cathedral reverb, followed by phased electric piano, followed by strings followed by voice.
So so beautiful....
Nice rendition of the finest pop song ever
The 4 people who gave a thumbs down to this video probably didn't have their speakers working properly when watching this video.
I remember when this came out. Now that I’m older I truly feel how great this song is.
Thank you for commenting. I can be nine years old again whenever I like just by listening to this song. The haunting switching between major and minor on the same chord, and the breathy vocal loops were, and still are, mind-blowing.
You know, this may be the best version I've heard - the piano bass adds to the heartbreak of the melody.
Thanks for letting me know, and well done for spotting it was my cover. I generally don't mind people doing whatever they like with my covers, but I always ask for my youtube channel to be given a mention just in case a music producer wants to offer me session work - although it ain't happened in ten years so I"m not expecting that any time soon. Anyway thanks again for your comment Ruben.
paulwwells I I wrote a comment to 'his' track on soundcloud. But my comment was deleted and he banned me. Unfortunately reporting a copyright infringement can only author... I do not understand these people. Howewer BIG respect for you and your videos. I laughed a lot with your 'Guitar Faker' ;) Great job and I look forward to your next video.
Michal Dvořák Hi Michal - yes there are a few tracks of mine on his channel I have just noticed.
Just one word: Beautiful.
Beautiful
I just love watching & listening to talented people . keep posting them paul .
This cover took me to another world and made my morning - thanks!! :D
That was simply beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful! You inspire me.
This is an amazingly beautiful arrangement. Thank you for sharing!
Oh wow I have tears in my eyes. This is divine. You are such a gifted player.
Absolutely marvellous!
Absolutely beautiful to your soul.
Super cool, refreshing, relaxing ! Nice one mate !
LOVE it.... just like listening to 10 cc.
FAB!!!! loved this!
@1957Nero Thank you - and thanks for subscribing. Padding with strings is an effect which doesn't lend itself to every style of piano, but when it does there is real pleasure in piling on the layers to see how massive a sound you can build up.
Beautifully played!
Nice Job on this one!!! Loved Listening to it!
Ty for this! Was hard to find it played correctly! Awesome work!
Nicely done. Bravo!!!
VERY well done, Paul. I love how you are able to sustain the previous chord(s). Beautiful cover.

Excellent Dankeschön
Thank you Lutz. You are welcome.
excellent!!!
I got this in my recommendation amd I've been trying to learn this peice
Thank you for commenting. This song obviously works well with voices, but its emotional melody and harmony mean that it works well on any keyboard instrument.
Wonderful playing there!
Fav and 5*****
Perfect!!! :)
Beautifully played, and you really chose the sounds well, that chord at 0.53 sounds wonderful. I always play this a semitone lower, must be why I could never get it to sound this good!
Awesome!
well done it sounds great
nice work man!
Just really, really nice - tnx.
Very well done!!!
The first piano cover of this song was Quiksilver boy's, which was fantastic. He only covered about a minute of it, and I loved it, and despite my sucking at piano, I tried to cover it. Back then I really sucked and didn't know how to play based on chords back then, but it turned out moderately succesful.
Yours, however, is brilliant. Very nice! That'll save me the trouble of re-covering it later haha
Superb
brilliant!
You deserve to have more likes tbh
Wonderful
nice work...thanks.
sick
great!!!
What you do that is quite tricky, is that you include the vocal melodies in the pieces you play, as well as the instrumental components.
This piece is stunning. You are a very talented man.
Awesome
amazing:D
very good playing!
Well Done!
Hi GordyCole. Thanks - glad you liked it.
I always play through good pair of headphones. I've given up trying to get a good sound through speakers. Roland probably selected a reverb range for use with speakers; I find I normally have to use the Hall reverb setting on full. That means you don't have to work so hard to keep the sound moving. Try that first, and get back to me if it's still not right.
Hi Anne - thanks for your comment. It's best to start with just the minimum version of the song but then gradually introduce a bit more each time you play it, until you run out of fingers :)
I plan to make some tutorials in a few weeks time - I"ll include this one
Fantastic 👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
what an awesome instrument...so much much much better than mine i should have gone for a roland or even korg when i had the chance.......made my heart race when you switched through all these stuff...
This is awesome...wish I could download..
Wow, Wow, Wow as soon as the cathedral reverb kicks in it takes you to a whole new place. I play this on an old (really old) Roland Juno 60 and I thought I had it sounding pretty good. It pales in comparison to this. Just brilliant !!

Awesome cover, Paul. There's something about the low note @ 2:00 that always gets me in this song.
wish i could give you more than 5 stars man!
Throwing some extra notes in those chords. Excellent
:40
Yes - I think I did add more notes. It was not deliberate - but I extended some of the chords which are cleaner on the original.
Nice Cover :)
Buen sonido del electric piano
I generally keep to as few verses as possible and still fit everything in. Without someone singing it gets a bit repetitive. Shooting from above is difficult because the software doesn't let me use an external camera.
good stuff
Thank you :)
thanks Joe22c - I'm thinking of putting together a few foundational lessons on chords before doing specific tutorials.
@slimjim77M I think when I first started doing these covers my aim was just to get a good sound and close to the original for minimal effort. I have a preference for the feel of some keys so would play in the easiest key then tune the keyboard to compensate. I don't tend to do that any more though because it seems a lot of people want to follow what I'm playing.
👏👏👏
good job
Nice one m8
@1957Nero Thank you. I would happily put the time in to get high quality sheets together of more songs. The song owners were the blockage in most cases. It's a shame because nobody wins.
Thanks Tom.
Wow
Thanks Marillionboy. I've probably picked the easiest key to play it in then shifted it back to it original key using the transpose function.
Thanks Marky
thanks :)
Thanks Paul, this is a very beautiful interpretation even if your finish is not perfect as you say, but who cares ?
It wakens up so many memories bce your play is close to the original version, the groove and atmosphere, and the Rhodes Fender sound. I would appreciate it IMMENSELY if you would play it, on video, without transposing your keyboard so that I, and many many other paulwwells' music lovers, could learn your version by finding out the real chords (probably a half tone lower, A instead of Bb). Please ! even very slowly .... Johan from Brussels
Thank you Johan. I keep a score of requests for tutorials and make them in order of requests. I have a lot of catching up with tutorials to do. However, I never use the transpose function on tutorials because some people learn on a traditional piano with no transpose function.
Amazing!! What keyboard were you using? Awesome interpretation of the song!!
