The drama unfolding with the no oils/no butters proves you're right on your last point. Not all stylist want or know how to get healthy hair, just make it look good. Great tips😊
They just know how to focus on performance products to for sure have the client leave looking right, but is it okay for the healthy of the hair. They weren’t just no oils and butters-leave-ins and weekly deep conditioning were frowned upon, especially for the wash and go.
@ that is so true. In the end no leave-in or a moisture rich conditioner probably did more harm than no oil. I do not understand how the stylists could not feel when they touched it, that the hair was not right…
I remembered when 👑 #afrikanhairgod - Narada Hayes, OWNER/CEO of #TheGriynThumb Salon sounded the alarm about 4-A/Z hair requiring lubricants to help retain moisture @@anneel8115. We are now full circle, back to basics ... including "hair grease" and water for hair growth and length retention❣️🤣
That’s funny the barber who I found kept telling me I needed to oil my ends. He’s a gifted hair cutter but I don’t think can bear to sit in the shop again with all those dudes. I’m usually only lady and with long hair.
I agree with your tips. here my tips 1. diversify our hairstyles it’s important that we enjoy the ride to our hair journey. we should feel pretty and confident. Now more than ever there are tons of style that won’t compromise the integrity of our hair. 2. Stop comparing 3. Stick to what works and don’t jump on trends even if it works for other people. (switched up my routine last year and experienced breakage) 4. Do low manipulation styles using your real hair. 5. I can’t keep a protective style longer than 2 weeks bc my scalp will itch like crazy. Personally mini twists/braids break off my hair 6. invest in a quality moisturizing shampoo & conditioner 7. Listen to your hair and give it what it needs! If it’s breaking stop doing what you’re doing and focus on moisture. 8. Get regular trims. Mine usually needs it every 3 months 9. Wash more frequently 1x a month isn’t enough (especially if you’re low porosity) 10. Focus on scalp health keep it clean if it itches it’s time for a wash. Clarify if you use lots of products 11. my hair LOVEs hot oil treatments 12. Always apply heat when doing a deep conditioning treatment 12. Documents document document! I have a hair journal and take lots of pictures and videos. This is a great way to see what’s working and to see progress Bonus tip: focus on length retention bc hair is always growing if you can retain more hair than what’s breaking you will see results!
yesss I'm 27 and I get my growing hands from my great grandmother, I can grow anything. I believe some people just have a certain touch while others brings destruction and some people with put negative energy into your crown.
Your hair is GORGEOUS!!! Thank you so much from one high porosity girly to another. These are the tips I’ve been implementing since September of last year and will continue throughout 2025 to grow to mid back length by the end of the year. YES!! Stick to a routine, keep the moisture in, and a low manipulation style like twists. My hair is in twists right now under a wig. I’ve been washing my hair once a week and it helps me maintain moisture and keeps my hair happy. One thing I want to share that I’ve been doing (might not work for everyone, even if you’re high porosity also) is spraying your hair with apple cider vinegar while your deep conditioner is on. Not a lot, you dont need to drench the hair. But a light misting on the sections while your deep conditioner is on helps bring the hair ph down and close the cuticles while sealing in that moisture. Then rinsing with cool water also keeps the cuticle closed and it has helped my hair thrive. especially because as we all know, the cuticle will raise open again probably once you step out of the shower, but it helps to seal in more moisture. Thanks again
Thank you for this suggestion. Can I ask whether the acv is diluted when you mist it onto the hair/conditioner or is that not necessary because of the conditioner being present?🙏🏽🇬🇧
@ I don’t dilute mine, I just do a very light spray. Since the water and conditioner is already coating my strands I don’t dilute. I also don’t leave it on very long. 15-20 mins max uncovered and NO HEAT
Hi. I agree with you on these tips. I also stopped using regular towels on my hair, and instead, I use micro cloth towels or t shirts. I agree with everything you said about some stylists not having clients' best interests at heart, while others do, indeed, sacrifice the health of the hair, just to achieve a certain look. Hair stylists who do this don't care about their clients. I will never allow anybody, even a professional to cut my hair. There's been way too many instances in my family where they claim they have to cut a certain amount off, and it left us sick to our stomachs to find that a lot of the length was taken.
What if there's no sheading. But you don really see growth? And another question⁉️ can't you just braid your hair n leave it alone if you penetrate it with oils i use rosemary cloves n avocado n olive oil n its a thick dark oil i love it but its messy :). I see growth i just need more of it hehehe
Same! I have a long torso, so my 20+inches isn't quite at my waist as yet, just 1 inch again to claim waist length for me! Her tips work, they are exactly what helped me. I don't change up my routine, I also have high porosity hair, the one tip I would add is: don't be afraid of grease! It has helped my high porosity, fine stranded hair retain moisture. Always protected. I dust/ trim as needed, or once per year.
The hands in the hair and the hands on the head is totally spiritual if you go deep..you are not wrong at all. The head is a very sacred place and some people's hand is evil, and some people's hands dont agree with your hair
And that's exactly why I don't go to salons anymore. NO ONE touches my hair but me and for the first time, my hair is actually thriving and retaining length! I kept getting way too many "funny" feelings in my spirit about stylists or anyone in general who wanted to randomly touch my hair so I decided to opt out all together. 🙅🏿♀️🙏🏿
Keep people hands out your head! 1 or 2 stylist at the most! Vet the stylist like you looking for a husband. Licensed professional in a salon where most clients hair is long thick and healthy including the stylist.
Yes, hands in hair is also a spiritual thing. There is a transferring of spirits involved. My beautician has been doing my hair for 25 years, and she prays before she works on any client. If you have the wrong person in your hair, the wrong type of spirit will transfer.
Omg I think I know you, well not really but I know your mom. If her name starts with an S and she's from Miami. Then I definitely know her. We went to high school together

How many days do u do the lco method
Amen❤
