A great reaction and very thoughtful and insightful comments about the lyrics. This song about abuse and low self esteem whether in a personal or group relationships is so full of emotion. All of David Gilmour's music, whether it be with Pink Floyd and either Roger Waters' and later his wife Polly Sampson's lyrics, are full of raw emotion. It is little wonder that he was moved by the original 1999 song by the Montgolfier Brothers which he says has been in his personal playlist for many years. The Gilmours' cover is a beautiful rendition of the original and augmented by yet another masterful guitar solo so full of pain.
Romney has a very beautiful voice. The apple doesn't fall from the tree. Talent is transformed through DNA . WE need talent like this in 2024. No autotune needed.
The best reaction to this version I’ve seen so far, and trust me, I’ve seen many. You got the feeling. The lyrics (a rare moment when David Gilmour is playing a cover) are heavy, but open to different interpretations. Romany is fantastic, and her father does not need any word (except genius).
I am a man with 64 years on my body and i cry every time i hear that angelical voice of Romany Glimour but not only the voice is the music and the words that makes me cry. I think is the new song in my BOX of GOLDEN TREASURE SONGS. The Blame on you is your side if you let them abuse of you and that happens very often when you are young and unexperienced.
I heard this song for the first time a few days ago and when I saw you reacted to it, I had to return to it. It's so haunting; Romany has a beautiful voice and such a vulnerable delivery, and when David's solo comes in at the end, it's just the perfect 'answer' to her vocal. They do look very much alike. If you do an image search on Google, there is a side-by-side photo of them at similar ages, and they almost look like twins!
Probably my favorite song on the album. Romany's voice is absolutely gorgeous, and she looks so much like her father when he was close to her age. The recent live tour rehearsal version is also fantastic!
That ending solo is so haunting. The 4 notes playing out through the whole song (I think it's a keyboard?) just add to the haunting nature of the entire song.
This cover is much more beautiful and touching than the original version by the Montgolfier Brothers from 1999. Thanks to the atmosphere that Romany's beautiful voice can create and to her fantastic dad who knows how to make the guitar sing too.
Thanks Saeed, I didn't know this song, another one to add on my playlist, great! 😊. She has the perfect voice for this kind of music. I'll listen to her more, for sure. I liked it a lot. Until next time. 👋👋
Wow, I must say you're unique in the way you respond and really take the lyric of the song seriously. Most people comment on the music and "disregard" half the song, that is the lyric and the meaning it conveys. Thank you so much for that! 🙏✍️+🎶
Could listen to that all day long 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 She looks so much like David when he was younger. If you watch the Live From Pompeii (1971) you will clearly see the resemblance
Yes, it is rather dark, but nonetheless very expressive. Here is David explaining why Romany sings it: ruclips.net/video/hCQcKUtg9kc/видео.html ( David Gilmour - Between Two Points (Explainer) ) And here is some insight into the father/daughter relationship in a photo album, set to a David instrumental, showing Romany growing up and being taught music by her dad: ruclips.net/video/T_gQ_D5yhAE/видео.html ( David Gilmour and Romany Gilmour - Kokineli ) Can you imagine having David Gilmour as your dad and music teacher? And wow she really does look like a young David too!
Hello Saeed...... i am very late on this but man what happy i became when i se that you have react to this. Have been a fan to David (Pink Floyd) since 1973 so i enjoy this at the fullest. But this song belong to Romney! Hervulnerability and soft voice is fantastic. and i love such melancholy style. Sometimes it´s good to coming out of Aurora land and listen to something else. Thanks man
It's a 90s song and typical of that period of music I'm a big fan of her voice while not a big fan of 90s lyrics she's a really good harp player as well
that song is so deep. I am glad that you brought that out. Not many have been talking about that. I wonder who wrote the lyrics? Was it or her Mom Polly or were those her words?
I would advise poor thing Rom,break immediately free from David,IF she can seriously write outstanding music.Anyways, this is a song to the right direction....
I didn’t know that this song was a cover….. I waited 9 years for a new album and this is a cover. Shame on you David you had all this time to write New material
It's a cover from The Montgolfier Brothers' "Between Two Points". A sad song from 90's. he author died in 2020 (Roger Quigley at 51). ruclips.net/video/KqQXg847coc/видео.html
How lucky are we who grew up with the gift that is David Gilmour , and now his daughter … beautiful
She has a beautiful voice I hope she sing more music. She looks like David when he was young

Amazing song! Thanks so much for sharing some background on this song. Much appreciated
What a gorgeous voice ❤ I’ve never heard of her but her voice reminds me of Dido.
The Gilmour legend continues through DNA. Awesome lyrics, best review by far.
The live version for the tour rehearsal is fantastic, I love this song.

"always the last to know...always the first to leave." Love that line.

Great song . So glad David chose to remake this song and place on his new album. Romnys voice and David’s guitar are great 😊.
I agree!
Great song! I'm 66 yo now and have loved David from the 70's with Pink Floyd and Romany has a beautiful voice! ❤
It is absolutely beautiful.
‘Your Guardian Angel gives up the ghost.’
Deep lyric
Absolutely great reaction. I really enjoyed it. You nailed everything about this song. Look forward to more.
The more I listen the more I love it and I only wished the solo was longer. Great reaction.
Amazing song. Thanks for watching.
@shecaso the solo is longer in the album... the radio and video versions are shorter purposely.

The lyrics are incredible....Of course so is David-And Romany???? WOW!!!What a voice-My new fave by the master of the Strat.
Love this piece of music! ❤
Romany has such beautiful tone and her enunciation is superb. A real grower of a song ❤

Beautiful song. I just looked up that photo, it is striking!
She has a beautiful voice and delivers this song perfectly, even if it a cover together they are just fantastic
Amazing voice!
She also plays harp on this track. Great father/daughter collaboration!
That's a great analysis of the lyrics.

Ahhh....David Gilmour....another great/best of the best.🎵🎶💚

That's Romany playing the harp!
@@silkecanada Ok, I thought so. Couldn't initially tell if it was a keyboard or not, but after listening a handful of times it's more obvious
This cover is much more beautiful and touching than the original version by the Montgolfier Brothers from 1999.
Thanks to the atmosphere that Romany's beautiful voice can create and to her fantastic dad who knows how to make the guitar sing too.
Great song her voice is awesome and she plays the harp and wow Dave still has it the goat lives on
Great analysis! 👍 Greetings from Antwerp, Saeed
Beautiful music, with some really packed lyrics. I'll have to find and listen to this numerous times.
Great song! Thanks for watching.
I love it. You explain the song very well. This song is remarkable, but you were explaining it to people makes it that much more better.

Romney has the voice of an Angel.
