Both did, and do, great. As with most off-roading though, clearance and tires; and then picking the right lines..... we see most vehicles going offroad going most of the same places. Looks like a great day out though... cheers!
I’m sure I read somewhere that they DO actually have one, but there’s no selector inside, you have to crawl underneath to select it on the actual gearbox 🤔
@@ALL_4_WHEELS oh, thanks for confirming it then, reassuring to know it’s not just an online trolling myth 😅 … I’m never putting my phone in the microwave to dry it out again! 😂🤣😂🤣
I love a well modified Disco but have to say how impressive that standard TD5 was. OK a little more ground clearance would have helped, but then it would be "modfied"!! Enjoyed the video, cheers!!
Great video. How much difference would the tyres have made? To my very untrained eye the 300TDI had much beefier looking tyres, so if the TD5 had those would it have given better traction? For people like me who are completely uneducated it would be great to have a video on the common mods showing how they compare to standard.
I think if the Td5 had a suspension lift and those tyres it would be on par with the 300 TDI Maybe I could do s proper comparison video like you mentioned This one was just a bit of fun and banter between the two lads with there discos they both did the track very well‼️ enjoy the channel 👍
I think the tyres made a massive difference, also the Tdi presumably has no anti-roll bars judging by that articulation. … also, the TD5 has a brake bulb out 😁
The TD5 is on General Grabber all terrains, which technically should be better on a rocky surfaces than an Insa Turbo Special Track as have more surface area.
I think the 5 door Suzuki jimmy would give the discovery 1 a good test in one of your videos so I would be interested to know it would do considering that they have the same 4 cylinder engine as the 3 door model and you can buy the 5 door Jimmy in Europe but not in the uk
The lads niva is really very good off road especially when the engines are more powerful and they are now turbocharged so the power from the 1.6L engine is 110 bhp and they come standard with off road tyres and the car is not that wide so I am interested to see how it gets on next year should be a very interesting video
We’ve only had the new defender out with us and Range Rover l322 but nothing really milder Tech to try! Have got a friend with a tasty modified disco 5 who we maybe taking out next year!
disco 1 have only open diffs? no lockers (on axles), no traction control like disco 2? Am I right? I wonder, because I will most likely to buy D1, so I want to know what to expect.
It’s got a voluntary one way traffic regulation order on the lane only down hill.. The water near the last big drop goes to a well for drinking water i believe so it’s to stop pollution I believe..
A one way voluntary restraint was put in place because the water at the last big drop off goes to a well for the cottages down the valley so I believe that Glass put the VTRO in place for respect of people making it dirty trying to go up hill and putting pollution into the water (this is what I’ve heard )
TD5 with traction control and CDL pretty unstoppable. Although good to see how articulation with open axle diffs on the TDI is impressive.
Had both, 300tdi engine for me.
Yes less complications on 300 TDI and they are happy to swim in deep water and keep chugging along👍😎

Glad you enjoyed it!! Enjoy the vids! 🤘🤘
Another great vid Ad love watching them keep them coming
Cheers ad! Plenty more too come don’t you worry about that haha!! 😎👍
give the Td5 Disco 2 a centre diff lock and things would be different...
Yes that would certainly change things‼️‼️👌😎😎
I’m sure I read somewhere that they DO actually have one, but there’s no selector inside, you have to crawl underneath to select it on the actual gearbox 🤔
Yeah that’s true I’ve had few guys out with us where they’ve had scramble underneath and manually select it 😎👍

@alxgu198 haha does that actually work….🤔🤦♂️

TD5 ALL the way.
Good choice! 👌👌

😎😎😬😬😉 well spotted best get that bulb sorted haha 😂

Need one of the new jimnys out with us!! There’s a chap with a lada niva from Scotland that was going to join us next year!!

Please do a defender one of these please buddy 300tdi v td5 v puma
Ok see what I can do!! 😎👍
The logs in the rut at 19:00 have been removed?
Yep all removed good few months ago! 😎👌👌
That's great news! Was dodgy rolling and sliding on them in the wet
Anyone would think you like the 300tdi. Standard vs modified 🤔
Haha love them both‼️‼️ 😎👍👍
Wow the stock td5 fairplay unstoppable do these new jlr products perform as good ?👌🙌
We’ve only had the new defender out with us and Range Rover l322 but nothing really milder
Tech to try! Have got a friend with a tasty modified disco 5 who we maybe taking out next year!
@ALL_4_WHEELS look forward to seeing that then 🏴👍
I would go for the discovery 2 over the discovery 1 two reasons one more powerful engine and the better brakes but also better looking car

Not sure hopefully someone can help you I think they have cdl only centre difflock 🤔👍👍
Yes, centre diff lock only, though you can buy aftermarket axle lockers. No traction control, ABS optional.
Why do we never see anyone going back along this lane in the opposite direction ?
It’s got a voluntary one way traffic regulation order on the lane only down hill..
The water near the last big drop goes to a well for drinking water i believe so it’s to stop pollution I believe..
The discovery 1 has very big off road tyres compared to the discovery 2
Honestly, reliability Series I or Series II? Thinking abou it
I think the perfect disco would be the body of the series two on the series 1 chassis! 😎😎
@@ALL_4_WHEELS Yes Yes
@DavitGiorgadze 😎👌👌👌
CDL difference maybe
Yes cdl really makes the difference when they work!! 👌😎
I like it
Thanks for watching enjoy the channel 😎👍
An 03 plate, so no CDL then.
Yeah possible 👍
