I’m a student pilot and I thought the bronze winner Ruimas Flieger watch was perfect for me, but looking on amazon and the AliExpress link it seems the movement for it is the Miyota 8215, not the Seiko nh35. That’s too bad, since the Miyota movement does not hack like the nh35. I’ll look into the other watches instead.
Mine has a Seiko. I think the watch is made with both. Sometimes with Chinese watches it's a crap shoot whether you get the movement stated or not. I think I got lucky.

I really enjoyed this month's video. Once again you showed a great variety of watches at the stated price range, giving the viewers some great choices. I always find it refreshing that your channel is one that doesn't practice "watch snobbery" in that, you aren't stuck on presenting only automatics and show some very good quartz and solar options. Also that you don't favor one brand over all others. I think you know which one I mean. Lol That Aeromatic 1912 kinda intrigued me as I have been looking for a fully luminous dial watch at a good price. Looking forward to next month.
Give me a few more years into the hobby and we'll see if I turn into a watch snob. So far I'm still pretty new and just really enjoying learning about all that's out there and sharing it with you guys!
Just ordered a new Orient quartz pilot on Ebay. I paid $70 USD. You can still find them at a good price if you're patient and search the internet. Nice vid. Like your channel.
I bought the Ruimas flieger a year ago and its accuracy is awesome... + 3 seconds per day. I really like it and it is my daily watch. Aliexpress shipping to Canada was less than a week. I have since bought a number if watches from Aliexpress and have never had any problems with QC, etc.

Not a fan of quartz watches, though I have a couple. I brought the original Seiko flight master. I thought it was big. But when I wore it, I was surprised it did not wear big and the bracelet is very comfortable. But the bezel was hard to turn. I had to remove, clean it, oil it and now it turns like butter. Now, it is one of my most worn watches.
I love that nighthawk. I bought that one when I was in college but a few years ago I dropped it and the glass broke. I left it at my dad’s place so he could take it to his trusted horologist and somehow it got lost. I miss that watch
Hi, nice video. I have the Ruimas and I like it a lot. The brown stitched strap is soft and pliable and it wears very comfortable. The movement is not a NH25a, but rather a Miyota 8000 series movement. More accurate than the Seiko, but does not hack or handwind.
Good info I was between the citizen sky or night hawk and the Sna411 or the white dial version and since I have actually bought them both but I went with the citizen first. Found a brand new promaster chronograph night hawk in all brushed stainless for around $140 and the main reason I usually never hesitate on citizen because all the new ones (Promaster) have good bracelets and excellent milled clasp. That’s one of the things that you misspoke on is the flighty has a cheap pressed clasp like it’s cheaper self.The seikos that I have with milled clasps I’ve had to pay $500+ for and citizen can do it for under 150$ cmon seiko! Obviously this particular watch has a bit of history to it so I was going to get it eventually either way. Keep them comin!
On of the cheapest panda dial chronographs is the Detomaso Firenze. It is a China made german brand watch. You can find this on eBay about 70 dollars. Another one is the Spinnaker Maritime.
They just sent me their Flyboy Engineer for review, and I really like that one. They're a sister brand of Spinnaker, so pretty similar specs and quality to them. Overall they tend to be a pretty decent value. Avi-8 has some really interesting designs (sometimes too interesting), a lot of their peices aren't so much pilots watches but more watches that are inspired by various aircraft, which is kind of a cool take on an aviation watch.
I find it funny that a lot of these watch reviews are not too big into their wardrobe fashion. Yes, these videos are about watches, but it would be nice to them put together with some fashionable threads.
Not really. I'd check around eBay to see if you could find one. I would think you could get it direct from Citizen, but it wouldn't be cheap if you went that route.
Excellent video. I've got a Flightmaster, had it 6 months & hardly wear it- legibility is poor & I wish I'd got the Nighthawk instead (so I'll sell it & get the "Red Arrows" Citizen 😉) The San Martin does look like excellent value . Cheers 👍👍

That's probably part of the reason I love GMTS, always had dreams of being a pilot when I was a kid but never went that route. I got into computers and did a Summer internship with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Papua and got a chance to take the stick in a little Cesna we were flying around to visit some remote villages. Was a dream come true.
Great collection! Check into probably one of the most iconic entry level mechanical watches - the SNK809 (Black) and SNK803 (tan) aviator style watches. Though they sometimes also fall under the field watch moniker. 7s26 Seiko automatic movement.

I think it initially had NH35 when JOMW reviewed it but apparently they have changed to Miyota which isn't a bad movement for the price but still a step down from NH35.
@@JusttheWatch Guanqin got some backlash when they downgraded the movement because the watches were still sold with old photos and they didn't make any notice of the movement change. I don't know if there's a shortage of NH35/36 movements of is it just a cost saving thing but it's not a very customer friendly practice especially if it's not pointed out clearly. Luckily my Guanqin GJ16034 has the Seiko movement as I bought it around the same time when it started to gain popularity (and the movement is very accurate too). I was tempted to buy the Ruimas back then when it still had NH35 but didn't like the black case so I decided to skip it. I just realized that I hadn't subscribed to your channel although I've been watching your videos but it's done now. Keep up the good work!
There is a Vostok Amphibia which has a "Pilotish" look if you allow me to say, it's the Vostok Amphibia 420647. I just purchased this one to tick the box of my "Aviation Watch", I have been looking for one for a wile and I think this Vostok has a cool design. Tell what you think, maybe it has nothing to do with a Aviation watch for you.

I bought a Defender a while ago too. Went with the cream dial. Although I love it I regret not going with the slate grey instead.

I've just got a Pulsar PM3129X1. Cost me 99AUD. Pretty good watch and 100m WR. Good enough for the RAF then good enough for me.
Love the Nighthawk. The Marathon Navigator in some colors/configurations can be had new under $200. Tritium , resistant to negative pressure etc
I have a Casio MTP 4500. 60$ with slide rule and 5Bar water resistance. A pretty good watch.
The Citizen watch is a winner, I would want a black instead of green.

I have the Corgeut. Love the sterile dial....As with Panda dial, this is a bit over budget, but love the Orient Neo 70's Panda solar.

A panda dial watch that's just a bit out of budget would be the ED 1963 from hkedwatches.com. That would be an awesome watch to review in the future!
