Armenian Street, George Town Worth Visiting? - Penang Travel Vlog 🇲🇾

- Penang, Malaysia is well-known among foreigners for many things but nothing can beats the amazing coffee, some most mouthwatering foods in Malaysia and beautiful Colonial buildings. After spending a couple days and settling in to this amazing island we decided to see what all the hype was about - one of the main thing to do is to hunt for street art.
With our day starting as it normally does and things not going as planned we started to rely on the locals to guide the rest of the day. With where we would go for lunch and let me tell you, things turned out AMAZING. This is why having little plans or even plans that don’t work sometimes is best thing.

- You do not have to be rich to travel non-stop -
American and Thai Millennials left the career in military and finance to become travel story tellers, proving the world that you don't have to be rich to travel well. Met in August, 2015 in South Korea, kicked off traveling in September, 2017 with $4000 in saving account and first started publishing our journey on the way we live the life we have always dreamt of - traveling and being able to work wherever we love ( as long as there is Wi-Fi and coffee)
☼ Currently homeless, live the life out of luggage, travel non-stop, and grow love along the way.
☼ We are deeply into traveling, doing what locals do, managing the budget to travel non-stop, challenging ourselves daily.
☼ Everything we show you here is to not only show you how our world is such an interesting place to explore, but also inspire you to live the life you love especially when you dream of traveling.

Ahh thank you so much for the tips!
100Plus is the defacto Gatorade of Malaysia and Singapore. We always have it for our sports or outdoor activities. When one of my British friend flies here for marathon he would drink 100Plus for the days he is here.
Ahh its so so good! We love it!
Wow some of that artwork is absolutely incredible. I didn’t realise Penang had such an art culture. Defniately looks like a cool place to visit. Great video
It really is so so cool!
Georgetown is full of pre-war buildings...not only pre WW2 but WW1 as well! and well preserved
We love this fact, totally charming!:)
Tah.. your editing is getting more and more phenomenal ^^ the story telling, the transitions.. just thought I'd drop a line to remind you guys how amazing you are!!.. love you
Aww we miss you guys so much! We will actually be heading to NYT travel show in January :)
Bringing back great memories of Georgetown. Love walking through the streets and seeing all the street art
Its really so beautiful!
Welcome to my hometown Penang , Malaysia 🇲🇾 😘
Aww we love it!
@@DivertLiving awww . thank you 😘😍
Haha...Tah overwhelmed by the choices of food...even Malaysians experience it too! We want all....!!!
hahahah so so true!
So many food.. Dunno what to eat. Suffering from success... That's what we Malaysian feels everyday..
hahahaha
WELCOME TO MALAYSIA 🇲🇾.. love you guys so muchh
I've been living in Malaysia for 12 years bro! I would like to live there my entire life, I swear. God bless Malaysia. 1 week and I'll be travelling back to putrajaya. For 3 more years, God bless Malaysia
4.10 it say dont throw rubbish everywhere. Use rubbish bin. You could be fined rm500. 😄
Ahhh ok! Thank you so much!
Tah awesome 'tru Things' Tru thAT!. Learnt suminthing new .lol
Hahahaha I don’t know where I get that true thing from I don’t really say it anymore tho 😂😂😂
Oh Penang foods are so delicious, I love Penang foods.
They really are!
8:07 " i still dont know what to eat
you said it best, malaysian have the same problem as you have. like in my self in the office at lunch hour time, no one can answer that question straight even tho we have so much food within the area. took about 10 mins just to decide after multiple suggestion declined, rebuttals and disagreement, EVERYDAY (i mean weekdays, working days)
hahaha
Lol! The introduction by Tah!😆😆😆
hahahh Wifi she needs wifi
Divert Living 😆😆😆
Try to ask for hawker center or kopitiam instead of café. Because many local will point you to those café houses (like 12 cups etc.)
Ok! Thank you so much!
Penang is my hometown.Welcome to Penang to both of you.
We love it here!
Welcome to Malaysia again in the future 🙂
Aww thank you so much!
You can tell you got a new camera towards the end, beautiful quality. That artwork is stunning too.
Yea we got two new cameras. We really want to up the quality of the content for you guys!
Are you guys still in Penang? It's ramadhan month, hopefully you guys go to bazar Ramadhan 😁
Ahh no we aren't:(
Flew there from KL City just over the weekend. hope you are loving Malaysia!!!
Love it so so much!
I am from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and i enjoyed this video very much because i am to lazy to go travel even in my own country.
Ahh thats what we are here for!
Go hike up Penang Hill or by train (tram). It used to be the residence for the elite British ruling Malaya due to the much cooler temp back then. The 1st strawberry in Malaysia was planted there hence the hillock Strawberry Hill. Go to David Brown's restaurant n tea terrace for western n msian cuisine. it' s a crowd puller. Also to see the stunning view of penang island. Many colonial bungalows can still be found there. The 3rd largest sleeping Buddha in the world can be found at Wat Chaiyamangalaram a siamese temple at Burma Road. Cheers.
Ahh yea we will make sure to add that to the list for next trip! Thank you!
If you are in Penang, it’s a sin not to visit the fruit farms in Balik Pulau on the other side of the island to try durians, mangosteens & cempedaks.
Ahhh its a sin!? We must go back right away
The upkeep of these old shops and shop lots is terrible. Malaysia has some of the best skyscrapers in the world but it's disappointing that they let their older buildings just rot. All it takes is a coat of paint and these building would look as new again.
those are private properties..but yeahh there shd be a law to prserve the properties in the cities.. some are eyesoring..
@@mam-ne7if I think the govt should consider stepping in then. No landlord would object to the beautifying of their buildings. The old flats around Jalan Changkat are a terrible eyesore too, and that's an area that is mainly frequented by tourists. Not a great look.
couldnt agree more with you...im still wondering why the city hall fails to see all that...
Awesome work...100 Plus is available in Thailand as well, great pick me up when a little off or hungover
Hahah we love them!Cant believe i never knew about them
Such a fun town to explore! Take us back 😭
We really did love it so much!
Gosh I had a good laugh when I saw Tah with the wrong side of the chopsticks 😜
hahahhahaha
Penang is my hometown . Welcome to penang divert and tah ✌😊❤
hahahahah Thank you so much! We love it here!
Great minds think alike. I ate at the same Taiwanese vendor when we went to that food court. I can't believe that was your first hundred plus, so popular in Malaysia.
Ahh yea it was amazing! Really love them!
nice u guys way to go allways ennoying life keep up the good work
Thank you so much!
Hope you will come to Malaysia - Ipoh
Aww we really want to see more of Malaysia
😂Who needs to know how fast they're going anyway 😂Really missing all the asian food now that we're back in the UK. Can almost smell the food markets when we watch this video!
hahahha Right!!!
That sign board mean do not littering....fine RM500😉
This is such good information! Thank you!
Good job on the videos.
Thank you so much!
Yeah!!!!
Guys I love the subtitles!!!Jajaja of this way i can learn more English with your videos.
Awesome! Hope they help!
We went to that same food court! Ate at the Ali Nasi Lemak stall
LOVED it!!! So so good!
Very very good video , you make Penang look very interesting , we are going there in October. This will be our second visit to Penang. Good job . We're are you from Canada ?
Ahh i am actually from NY right by Canada though
@@DivertLiving Thanks , you don't have a heavy N.Y. accent . Kind neutral.
Hi guys.. Its funny all the things u said about Penang is so true 😅. Meaning u guys really succeeded in capturing the essence of the places u visited..Great job.. Btw, the round bag is definitely, most certainly from Vietnam. The street merchant in Msia used to source their sourvenier items from Thailand but with the depreciating Ringgit, these vendors now go to Vietnam instead.. Definitely Not Bali as we x buy tht much from Indonesia😜
Fasting month bro... Mamak restaurant open on 3:00 pm till midnight
Thats so cool! I never knew that!
I miss you guys!
Miss you to!
U should try the beef noodles n nasi lemak at Sri Weld
Ahhh we will remember that!
Eating in this market with so many food stores is not cheap. Cos there are too many delicious foods to choose from and you may order a few instead of only one.
There are so so many! Its hard!
I'm your huge fan Jimmy and cha
Aww its Jimmy & Tah :) Thank you so much!
Tah you can get a translator app and take a picture of what you want to translate and it will convert in English
Such a great tip! Thank you!
What camera and lens were you guys using at the end? In the food hall.. damn!!.. im hungry now 🤣🤣
We just got new camera's :) A7iii and 16-35GM
100 plus is isotonic drink, good for after you exercise or sweat a lot. It's like Pocari in Japan and yes, Gatorade (I think?) never had Gatorade
It is gatorade!
5:18 Did u say “it used to be the capital of Selangor”? Then I assume u get confused between Lebuh Klang and Klang. Yes, Klang used to be the capital of Selangor, and that Klang is located in Selangor near KL. While that Lebuh Klang (Klang Street) in your video is one of the street in George Town Penang. And yep, Lebuh Klang was named after the town of Klang in Selangor.
You visit Kuching .in Sarawak, East Malaysia..building are the same in Penang
Wow! We didn't know that!
Try Pasembor, mixed veg with gravy, yummy.
Ahh we will have to remember that!
I hear Thai women don't know how to use chopsticks 🤣 I'm loving your Penang vids interspersed with Sri Lanka vids.
Ahh we are trying to change things up a little haha
I'm watching this while fasting... Hahahaha
AHhahaha not a good idea!
@@DivertLiving but i fall in love with your video... Your honesty in review and describe! Loved it!
👍🌴🥂
❤️
Gee...meee , what shoo I eat ?? I wan noodle !!
I wantannnn meeee some noodleeee
try some indian food in malaysia its so good!!
Ahhh thank you so much! We will make sure to try some!
0:53 When someone is more interested to be in a photo than taking picture with a street art. They were completely blocking the whole thing....
TRUEEEE haha
You should hunt street art at midnight
One very important information when u order any drinks or food in Malaysia hawker centre or coffee shop.. for drinks u can ask for extra sugar , less sugar , extra strong . Extra milk.. for food u can ask for spicy ,without spicy, little spicy, extra spicy,no chili,no vegetable,no meat, like i don't like eat pork,I can say my noodles don't pork, see what other ingredients they have I like to eat just put.if u eat curry noodles u like tofu very much u also can request extra tofu, like that.. Sorry for my broken English..
Ahh this is very good info! Thank you!
Great video. I find Malaysia hotter and more humid than Thailand and the Philippines. Would you live in Malaysia or suggest expats move there and would you pick Penang over KL....
Philippines Fun With JLB & Friends we found the WiFi was pretty rough in Penang and insanely good in KL! May have just been where we were staying but might be important 😁
How much is the scooter rental in Penang?
ahh to be honest i don't remember
tah how you couldn't decide on what to eat that was me in Thailand
hahahah i can imagine!
you should go to bazar ramadhan at Taman suria Jitra kedah,malaysia..try daging bakar..if you want to watch go to #laparpo production..they go there 2 day ago..
Try bazar Ramadan
Thats what we hear!
@@DivertLiving r you guys still in Malaysia?

Ahhh we will make sure to try that on our next trip there!
Divert Living sure, whenever you in Malaysia again especially at KL
Hey, you’re eating rice with the spoon! It’s so annoying to see foreigners eating rice with a fork. So unsatisfying.
hahahah we have lived in Asia for 2 years. Honestly most people dont use forks haha
8:13 that was my favourite
Sorry I heard cha 😰
The cendol u go is overrated..Melaka have one is much more better call auntie koh cendol..Even my Penang friend love melaka cendol more than penang cendol
WHATTTT its so so good!
Pls Google: auntie koh cendol
See the reviews what the other say
.Hope one day u can go melaka n try it..n tell us the different with Penang overrated cendol.but be mention the auntie only open sat & sun 10.30am.. Sometime can finish sold out in 1hours++
