I dust the tops of my kitchen cabinets with the extended dust swifter about twice a year. I use to put up birdhouses but now that I’m 73 I do not have decor above the cabinets. Love your videos & all the tips & tricks thanks Dee Dee 😊🍀

Hey! I had to pause the video to go check if my steam shot had its lid on! Thank goodness the last time i used it I dropped the lid in the box! Whew!!! It has never occurred to me to wipe out my dryer tub! Yikes! Guess that will be added to my 'to do' list!❤❤❤

Air cleaner use cut down on dirt in the air making dust. Also don't forget to clean the dryer exhaust tube, that's where fires start a lot of times. Oh, I wish you lived close I would hire you to organize my storage unit...I mean my apt. I have Asperger's and no organizing sense. I end up with more organizers instead of actually being organzed. I don't have the neural mapping for it. My family is all dead and I am lost with out my Mom. She kept me organized.There is no help when you are an adult Aspie. I am brilliant in other ways. I got 1/2 way through Pre-Med and am an artist savant. I describe my intellect as average very smart milkshake with a big swirl of stupid. lol Great vid.

Everything looks great!! I can almost smell the clean!! The closet it so organized!! I have a question though; do you use fabric softener? I gathered from your comment that if you use fabric softener, there would probably be more to clean. Well, I use fabric softener because I always hang my clothes to dry. The fabric softener always builds up and it is a huge pain to have to clean it. Besides taking it apart to clean it ALL THE TIME, do you have a good cleaning hack I can use to help keep it from building up in the dispenser as well as in the holes where it comes out? Hello Nancy! I do not use fabric softener in my washer, I do, however, use fabric softener dryer sheets. That is why my dryer tends to get more buildup than my washer does. I have personally not had to clean my liquid laundry soap/ fabric softener dispenser, since I have only been using pods. I have seen other people on RUclips clean theirs. I’ve seen them pour hot water through the dispensers and scrub them with a toothbrush or a baby bottle washer brush. The bottle washer brush seems to do very well! I hope this helps! I redid my kitchen and my cabinets are like yours ….not to the top haven’t cleaned them since 2013 when they were put in ….😂😂😂 I guess I need to get someone to do it ….great job 😊❤️
Hello Francine! Nice to know I’m not the only one that doesn’t clean it regularly.😆I have received a lot of good suggestions in the comments about leaving paper or something laid out flat on top and then you just have to throw away the paper and replace it. 👍🏼 thank you so much for watching.!
PS- I love to organize too and always have. In 3rd grade, the class would have to clean out our desks on Fri. I'd sit and watch as people made a big pile of papers and trash next to their desks. Not me- everything was neat and no trash!
Another great tidy and organise video thanks for sharing ❤ I only have a few inches above my cabinets so no decor up there but I lay down some used wrapping paper, brown paper etc and just replace it every so often - hard to clean there as not much room xx

Hey friend! This. Got. Me. Motivated! I started a-little today. My cabinets in the laundry room go to the ceiling but my kitchen don’t, and I have night ceilings. What I did in the kitchen is lay sheets of paper towels on top of the cabinets. A few times a year I gather them up and replace it with clean ones. The cabinets always stay clean this way. You may want to try this in your laundry room. Tomorrow and Sunday we have plans so I hope to do a few things Monday. Thank you for a great start to spring cleaning!! Have a great weekend. @@MyBigTidyUp lol. Just realized that I did watch and comment tonight. Spring break started today so I was out most of the day and went to BJ’s and Walmart. So while I was putting away and organizing everything I put you on to keep me company. Tomorrow morning I have to go watch my niece play soccer so it made sense to watch you now. We have no big projects right now. I did order new outside wall and front door lights which hubby will install tomorrow. Other than that it’s been small things like changing the hardware on my kitchen cabinets etc. Honestly there are no big things to do. We do need to have our outside of the house painted and we need our pool deck redone. But it’s on hold for now. We are going to take a much needed vacation in June to Cabo San Lucas Mexico.

One is Gas, the other is electric, a Steam Dryer ) . I actually do save some of the Containers,, when I " Re- organize " so I can use those in other areas, if those work ... ; I've gotten rid of a few , then was looking for them ,to use.. ... " oh. Yeah. Duh. Gave them away ...." 😄🙄 So now, I do save certain ones to Re- use. You know, Dede.....It doesn't matter if you're skipping around to here or there or what you're doing....;You're just trying to get things done and I agree with that to a certain point , because when I was a Professional Organizer/Housekeeper, I did that ,to " let things soak ", or whatever, then came back to finish it... it can be a productive process, and actually can help one feel they are staying motivated. 😊 ( and when I say to ' a certain point "... meaning that one doesn't " overwhelm themselves " by trying to have" Toooooo many irons in the fire", so to speak. .. then they give up, because it became overwhelming. ). But you understand the Balance, youre so good at what you do ! I was also chuckling over " the white shirt " ... Yep. 🙋🏼♀️. Done that. I've been organizing my spare room closet this week and I wondered, 'How many plastic totes are too many plastic totes?' I have 15 stacked up! But I think I counted you have 18. I won't mention the 17 photo boxes on the top shelf. 😅 It is looking better!

Another job well done! I bet it feels good to make progress with doing one room / area at a time. In my kitchen, the cabinets do not reach the ceiling. I have a lot of decor up there. Plus, my cat gets up there from time to time. I do not clean it regularly, just when I think about it. Fortunately, it never seems to get too bad. Keep up the great job! P.S. All of my plans for today changed so I was able to watch at my regular time.
Hi Matt! 👋🏼👋🏼 I do feel like I am making progress! I still have cleaning to do but I will be doing a little spring decorating along with my cleaning next week. My cabinets go all the way to the ceiling in my kitchen, but the laundry room does not, and I guess because of the lint, they seem to attract dust, fuzz and who knows what! Lol! Just had a curiosity your cat sounds like an interesting character! I’d love to know the name, if you are willing to share!
I like the combination of cleaning and decorating. It really helps shift the energy and lighten and brighten things up. My cat's name is Sunny. She's such a sweet girl.
Hi DeDe If you want you could maybe put wax paper cut to the size of the top of your cabinets and every so often, I don’t know how often, you take the dirty piece and throw it away and get a clean piece. I had to do this because the top of my kitchen cabinets are not smooth. I thought I was commenting on this video but I think I accidentally made a similar comment on another video of yours that came up.

I’m not going to change what I have up now because my husband is going to cover the cabinets with something that is thin. I forgot what he called it, it is like a thin board. Sorry I don’t have a specific schedule for you.
For the top of your cabinets line them with paper or newspaper then when it comes to cleaning fold up the paper there will be much less dust in future xx

Tops of cabinets....put a layer of wax paper, cheap paper placemats, newspaper up there to catch the grease and dust. Remove and replace.

You know, Dede.....It doesn't matter if you're skipping around to here or there or what you're doing....;You're just trying to get things done and I agree with that to a certain point , because when I was a Professional Organizer/Housekeeper, I did that ,to " let things soak ", or whatever, then came back to finish it... it can be a productive process, and actually can help one feel they are staying motivated. 😊 ( and when I say to ' a certain point "... meaning that one doesn't " overwhelm themselves " by trying to have" Toooooo many irons in the fire", so to speak. .. then they give up, because it became overwhelming. ).
But you understand the Balance, youre so good at what you do !

I've been organizing my spare room closet this week and I wondered, 'How many plastic totes are too many plastic totes?' I have 15 stacked up! But I think I counted you have 18. I won't mention the 17 photo boxes on the top shelf. 😅 It is looking better!

Another job well done! I bet it feels good to make progress with doing one room / area at a time. In my kitchen, the cabinets do not reach the ceiling. I have a lot of decor up there. Plus, my cat gets up there from time to time. I do not clean it regularly, just when I think about it. Fortunately, it never seems to get too bad. Keep up the great job!
P.S. All of my plans for today changed so I was able to watch at my regular time.
Hi Matt! 👋🏼👋🏼 I do feel like I am making progress! I still have cleaning to do but I will be doing a little spring decorating along with my cleaning next week. My cabinets go all the way to the ceiling in my kitchen, but the laundry room does not, and I guess because of the lint, they seem to attract dust, fuzz and who knows what! Lol! Just had a curiosity your cat sounds like an interesting character! I’d love to know the name, if you are willing to share!
I like the combination of cleaning and decorating. It really helps shift the energy and lighten and brighten things up. My cat's name is Sunny. She's such a sweet girl.

If you want you could maybe put wax paper cut to the size of the top of your
cabinets and every so often, I don’t know how often, you take the dirty piece and throw it away and get a clean piece. I had to do this because the top of my kitchen cabinets are not smooth.

I haven’t been changing it. I forgot it was up there and it had been over a year before I remembered it.
I’m not going to change what I have up now because my husband is going to cover the cabinets with something that is thin. I forgot what he called it, it is like a thin board.

For the top of your cabinets line them with paper or newspaper then when it comes to cleaning fold up the paper there will be much less dust in future xx
