I laughed so hard when he talked about the shinigami coming back for commentary rather than saving their own lives.😂
I love Toshiro's mention that Hyorinmaru can't attack itself because it's such a good callback to when Ichigo was doing his Final Getsuga Tenshou training and learned that he couldn't be hurt by Zangetsu if he accepted it as part of him.
I also want to add to this a bit. When Ichigo accepts his powers during the blade is me chapters, he mentions that he wont ask (Zangetsu) to lend him strength because he is him, Hitsugaya has a somewhat similar development thats slightly more subtle in the fight with Gerard. Prior to his powers maturing, his bankai had taken the form of a dragon enveloping his body, and especially when on defense, the wings acted to shield and protect him. When his powers mature, he loses the protective dragon motiff, and gains pauldrons and greaves, taking on a more knight like appearance, almost symbolizing that he’s now able to stand on his own two feet, and use his abilities at his own whim and will, which also kinda correlates with the change in physical appearance, from child to adulthood. I consider it to be his own “ the blade is me” moment.
@@JohnGlow2 Well said!
@@MrOddChocolate exactly
And then we have Byakuya who just got shredded
@Jo-Smooth looks like he still has a lot to learn. Though, to be fair, if I had a Zanpakuto like that, I'd be scared of it, too.
The fact that he managed to survive both wars is impressive to be honest. More than any other shinigami (Yachiru doesn’t count since she is Kenpachi’s zanpakto) he lacks experience. He has power and skill in spades, is responsible and hardworking, but none of that erases the fact that he is physically a child. There are just some things he is incapable of doing due to his age. (Ichigo doesn’t count for the following reasons: 1. He is part human and alive. Humanity has been noted to have an exponential growth rate compared to shinigami in the Bleach universe. 2. Ichigo is physically a teen, Toushirou may be older in actual years but he is still physically eleven to twelve years old. 3. Ichigo is a hybrid of every major race in Bleach, there are just some things that Toushirou is limited by being a pure shinigami.)
That being said Toushirou is a genius and could have probably turned some of those losses into wins if he was willing to accept the sacrifices it would entail. From what I could tell his biggest problem is that he tends to engage the enemy when there are allies within the range of his bankai. Hyourinmaru is supposed to be the ice version of Ryujin Jakka but Toushirou being physically a kid cannot control the entirety of his power like Yamamoto (actually even Yamamoto lacks full control of his bankai). If he attacks the enemy it would hurt any allies in range since he is too young for his attacks to have a control setting like other older shinigami who can weaken attacks to suit their purposes. If he attacks it’s always at full throttle, he is so powerful he could end up killing his own lieutenant if he isn’t careful. Because of this his fights tend to be less about outsmarting the enemy or how to destroy them and more about how to kill the enemy without hurting those around him. The outcome is often him weakening himself (which his opponents are happy to help him with) so he can forcefully lower his own power levels. The fact that he survived with so many odds against him shows his awesomeness.
I don't even really see how people think he takes L's.
The only time he loses straight up is like Azien, who basically no one could beat. He beat the first Arcannar, he beat Harribel. He beats Kang Du after being double-teamed without his Bankai and seriously wounded. Then he absolutely fucks Mayuri twice before his bullshit kicks in (this character is just essentially impossible to beat if he has preparation) , then basically kills Gerard, but he literally can't die so.
Exactly. He nearly beat Gin had there was no interference
They did toshiro dirty the whole series
Why do people say he’s taking so many Ls? His fight with Lupei ended with him dealing the most damage, he had a momentary fight with Yammy. He beat gained the advantage against espada number 3 and almost killed her had it not been for womderweiss braking the ice. He’s only actually taken Ls against Aizen twice, people seem to think that just cause we’ve seen his bankai many times means he’s somehow lost..
Renji is the one who has taken the most Ls😂😂😂
Yeah exactly, it makes 0 sense. He's literally only lost against one of the strongest characters in the entire show.
He took a beating in the 2v1 without a Bankai, then activates the hollow one and effectively kills Kang Du even after being super wounded. (IMO both Harribel and Kang Du count as kills, because they would have died, had their been no interference).
He basically would have killed Gerrad if the character wasn't bullshit as well.
Toshiro really do be overhated tho, ppl hate him just bcs he has a lot of L's and say he's a bad char bcs of it like bruhh so the amount of L's and W's a char has = a bad character? I mean he's still young so it's understandable for him to lose a lot, and ppl tend to forget he's a prodigy, I'd say that his level of potential is 2nd to Ichigo's, bcs just imagine all the things he could do when he's older and mastered his bankai.
Toshiro mature would solo the whole gotei 13 bar Zaraki
I wouldn't say his potential is second only to Ichigo. I'd say it's comparable if not slightly higher than Yamamoto. I like to imagine that Toshiro is how Yamamoto was like a little over 2thousand years ago when he first got Ryujin Jakka and was a "young hero" as Ichibe put it.
@@gokhanyildirim8557 that's too reaching but based on what he did to Gerard it's possible he could solo most of the captains but byakuya, kenpachi and kyouraku because he's busted in adult form.
What’s funny is he technically only has two Ls, both are from Aizen
Its because he’s popular, and has alot of fans, but he doesnt murk every enemy he comes across. I had this discussion on a mr tommo video where there was hard evidence that Toshiro canonically holds back during many of his encounters, and others he loses due to lack of emotional control and inexperience, and everytime you bring that up, you have people who dislike the character just completely disregarding how he’s written. And for whatever reason, even though Aizen wiped the entire Gotei 13, apparently those Ls only count for Toshiro. Its hilarious, but not really surprising. Every character that has a huge fanbase has a large amount of haters, shit, even Byakuya and Ichigo in his own series arent exempt from it.
I enjoyed the fight in its entirety. Hitsugaya is one of my favourite characters in Bleach its just sad to see him take so many Ls. He's not Don Kanonji.
If it makes u feel better, the only L's he's taken are Aizen and bazz b. Sure he gets beat up, but he actually wins majority of the time 😂
Although he dropped like a rock afterward due to having got lit up like a Christmas tree by Bazz-B, it was still refreshing to see Toushiro (and later Renji) FINALLY snatch up a W after all them Ls they routinely got. I mean, SOMEBODY had to be the jobbers of the Gotei 13, but did it really have to be them??
Toshiro only lost to Aizen (when everyone lost to Aizen) and Bazz B due to a bad elemental matchup
If you wanna count Mayuri you can, but Mayuri’s whole strategy only worked because Toshiro was strong enough to kill him 10 times over
I don’t get the narrative that Toshiro always loses comes from. 2 of his losses were against the main villain of the pre timeskip who one shots even pre timeskip Kyoraku level characters, and one came from a fire/magma used while Toshiro only had Shikai. The other required Toshiro to be stronger than his opponent and able to kill him to initiate a hax
@@jocoolshowThats the exact same thing I tell people when they say Toshiro only takes Ls
@@jocoolshowtook the words out my mouth.
@@jocoolshow People said Toshiro has most only L's because they want the enemies be defeat by death, if the enemy isn't death for them isn't a W
Dont know why Hitsugaya tried fighting Bazz B. He had level advantage and type advantage.
Imagine if a level 50 Articuno tried fighting a level 100 Entei.
Hitsugaya was in shambles this arc
Where does the narrative that Toshiro takes a lot of L’s even come from? He lost a total of 3 times. 2 were to Aizen who was rivaling Yama and able to one shot pre timeskip Kyoraku level individuals, and the other was to Bazz B who’s a literal fire/magma/heat used against a nerfed Toshiro who only had Shikai
The only other case you could make is Mayuri, but Toshiro ‘losing’ to Mayuri literally required him to be strong enough to kill Mayuri 10 times over
When else did he lose?
And even against Bazz B, it was only because of an elemental type disadvantage. When it came to raw stats like speed, Toshiro was never losing to Bazz B. In fact, he was outpacing Bazz B for most of the clashes. Durability wise, Burn finger 1 from an even weaker Bazz B who had been hit by Yhwach’s holy selection was still able to damage Jugram. Toshiro took it directly and was still able to fight, so his durability/endurance isn’t bad. Only thing we can’t compare is their AP since Toshiro never landed a clean hit that wasn’t melted
Good analysis of bazz b. I'm adding this to my Toshiro apologist handbook 😂
I find it funny that they were watching the soul reapers For over 1000 years And don’t know that their swords are sentient, like WTF?
Probably thought the Captains were talking to themselves or just treating their Zanpakuto as living things in the same way people in real life do their vehicle or their weapons.
Cang Du even said he doesn't believe in pantheism, meaning he sees what they do as religious rather than real or practical
Fans: I wish you would have kept Cang Du alive
Kubo: No Can' Du 😂
😅😅
The battle between Toshiro and Bazz-B was so one-sided, you could say it was a...Burning Stomp of a fight.
Ba-du-shzzzz
In hindsight, I wish Kubo had just focused on Cang Du in this fight and not included Bazz. I want to see more of Cang Du's martial arts and his Vollstanding. It's so disappointing that he survived this just to be executed by Haschwalth, it took away from the satisfaction of Toshiro recovering his Bankai and killing him. Kubo has a tendency of robbing kills from their characters which is a bit frustrating. Similar things happened with Soifon vs BG9, Gerard vs the Captains, Lillie vs Shunsui, Urahara vs Askin , Ichigo vs Quilge and arguably Gremmy vs Kenpachi.
I disagree with urahara vs askin but others I agree
It seems like a retcon on Kubo's part from the first invasion, because it's revealed by BG9 that their Volsterndig revives them, meaning that the only way to kill a Sternritter and keep them dead is to kill them in their release state. Bambietta, Cang Du, Bg9, Gerard, all of them get revived by their Volsterndigs after dying in base and have to be killed again. Like a video game boss with 2 phases.
But in the first invasion we got the trio that fought Kenpachi, and the two Yamamoto fought and none of them revived despite dying in base.
I think at that point the strenritter R,Q,O, ans Both Y’s were absorbed by ywach by the time the 2nd invasion happened
I think Kubo really likes his dichotomies, so that the fights themselves feel like poetry rather than just a show of power. Ice vs Fire is an interesting (even if basic) idea, as was Ice vs Water back in Fake Karakura Town.
Kenpachi was never gonna outright beat Gremmy. He’s basically the Soul King’s brain, (well hinted to be) his imagination is essentially limitless but couldn’t imagine his body to be durable as Kenpachi in time
I loved the use of shikai between Rangiku and Toshiro in this battle, wished they did more of that with the other captains and lieutenants that got their Bankai stolen in the first invasion.
I have a feeling that Bleach Part 2 will have a lot of extended fights but with story added into it.But for now I just can't wait to all the Soul Reapers face off against the quincies such as Toshiro vs Bazz B and Cang Du.Sajin vs Bambietta.Gremmy vs Kenpachi and especially Giselle vs Ikkaku and Yumichika
Man I am so stoked and can't seem to wait for cour2. ❤✨Things are gonna turn more serious and gruesome.
Kubo wanted to put him on the sternritter outfit so he had to have Bazz B defeat him, but imo cang Du should have fought him alone
bazz is 1000% my favorite sternritter, askin in a close second.
Could you plz covers some jjk content? After getting into the series more, I've really fallen in love with it for the first time. Especially with how hype the new chapters are.
I have done a complete review of every arc aside from the latest ones on the channel as well as a Gojo character analysis
Honestly like kubo always put toshiro in a bad match up I can see why people don’t like him but I love him regardless
Hallibell was not a bad match up they continuously countered each other.
I think Kubo hates Hitsugaya because he only give him L's after L's
Cap. His only actual L’s are against Aizen (who destroyed everyone until dangai ichigo pulled up) and Bazz B (a fight where he didnt have bankai)
@@thewarrior8497 I don't know why people said he only lose when that is completely false
The fact that the sternritters was studying the soul reapers for over a 1000 years and eventually still lost, says alot about the soul reapers. Now with that said the quincy were still scared. Ex; yuwach fought Yamamoto with a shape shifter. If yuhawach was really that bol he would've fought Yamamoto head up. So the soul reapers still had a one up on em. Honestly I give the Espada more respect than the quincies!
The zero division should have taken him for training as well
Exactly, he would be a great asset
@@shay4068 should of been taken instead of Rukia. Rukia could of just been training her captain. Would of given them more screen time together
Actually he should’ve gone instead of Byakuya-sama who should’ve died, at least that’s what I think
Toshiro wasn't hurt.
@@0eyes still would have been a great option to take a prodigy to make him stronger
BRING GIN BACK TO LIFE!!!! 😭😭😭😭
Ha! "Toshiro playing on Veteran difficulty."
That's why in first episode of the anime said it didn't work on you means that is the shadow of hollowed bankai means example of ichigo that is creation of aizen experiment that works wonderful to the quincy
Hitsugaya and my man Hisagi took the most Ls.
Hisagi due to lack of care, Toshiro because Kubo a savage.
Thank you i loved that fight
We Shattered a Community - WAN Show March 3, 2023. Imperial Blaze, Tomahawk Technique.
Compilation of L's took me out 🤣🤣
I hope they show Cang Du's vollstandig and extend their fight overall.
👍
I feel like Kubo forgot that Toshiro's Zanpakto doesn't actual "make" ice, it makes water and *then* freezes it. His Shikai also has an insane range, he literally told Kira to get 1 kilometer away or he may kill him on accident...when he was fighting Gin with just his Shikai.
I think the whole shikai distance issue was just that Hitsugaya didn't have full control over his powers yet. Hence why in his Bankai he can use copmletely busted oves without worrying anywhere near as much with range...
That or just hype.
JJK reminds me of Bleach. Will you cover that series?
Kind of true
Please please do the life of rojuro and kansei
But yet again, cang du was not in his vollstandich.same as a shinigami without bankai
And yet they used their Bankais against them.
Do anyone know if rangiku have a boyfriend or husband? i search on bleach wiki that she had one dude and a girl with him,but idk if the wiki is true or not.
i love the twist that he turns into a full grown adult rather than his bankai deactivating. you can tell kubo pull that out of his ass at the last minute.
This arc had alot of writing issues with many characters not just with Hitsugiya
Bro took more Ls than renji this arc 😂
The Art Of The COMEBACK , By Tite KUBO
Wish his Volt-Standings was used in a bigger fight.
Seriously how many L's did he take over the course of the series
One against Aizen; his second defeat came from Aizen; and his third came from Bazz B; his final defeat was against Mayuri as a zombie.
Overall, four losses.
@@MichaelisBLee you're forgetting Cang Du in the first invasion
@@corruptangel6793 The defeat wasn't confirmed and Hitsugaya, Soifon and Komomura were practically unharmed by the end of the first invasion.
I chose not to count battles that were not decisively ended.
In comparison, Byakuya was absolutely getting destroyed and needed to be healed in the Soul Palace. So, under that reasoning, why were Hitsugaya, Soifon and Komomura not killed or injured?
Because their battle barely even began.
@@MichaelisBLee fair enough
I actually didn't line Hitsugaya, still don't
No cap your videos is about the same thing, running outta ideas I see but talk about another anime or sum
Shut up
