I would not recommend an Arowana, as they are quite large (probably too big for that pond), and they are also jumpers. I would suggest a few larger Central or South American cichlids, and maybe some plecos to help with the algae.
You certainly have the advantage over Brian. I don't think he has much of an assortment of live plants in Michigan. But he does have a good imagination. That bowl would look great on my patio. I especially like the soft trickle of the water.
I'm glad that you take so much inspiration from SerpaDesign because he is good at making stuff look amazing and you are good at doing that outside and both of those elements together are awesome.
I’m so glad you done this video! I was just about to build one of these myself and you helped teach me how to do it and gave me some great ideas! Thank you Kenan for always sharing your knowledge and helping everyone learn new things!
I’m a dog/cat/ fish person but my addiction to your vids has made me see lizards, turtles and even gators in a different light. I think you are doing a great job educating people with your love for reptiles.
I wouldn't recommend arowana since they could jump out with the sides being so low. Some bichir would be really cool in there since they stay towards the bottom, and some mid to top level swimmers for extra visual interest. A larger and more patterned species like P. ornatipinnis or P. endlicheri with some native species like Florida gar and pickerel, or some pike cichlids. Maybe even *sigh* peacock bass and catfish. Freshwater rays would be cool too, as long as no one steps on them!
Bichirs will not stay in that pond. They would probably climb out and walk away on the first rainy night. The ray idea is interesting but winter might be too cold for them. Cheers, Chris
For the pond you could get a pleco. There are plenty of invasive plecos in water ways near where you live. They eat the algae and they have so much personality. It will help you keep it clean and you can always add other fish to the pond with it.
My lil Hermann’s will push rocks to the edge his enclosure to try and climb, so I built him a lil “assault course” to keep him busy, he also loves chasing a ping pong ball. He’s always up to mischief but that 🐢’s through and through 🤗
A very relaxing video that we all needed after all the chaos of face crushing Iguanas and Monitors passing away... Also, I watch Brian's vids just as much as I watch yours, you two are the best of the best to me
A small fresh water river stingray would be so awesome in Sophia's pond! Like an Orinoco or Motoro depending on how much you wanna spend. An arowana would be cool and they do well with ray's if they have space🤷🏼♂️ Not sure how many gallons that pond is but an arowana may outgrow it someday. Good luck with everything and stay healthy in this wild time!
this a nature filled and satisfying video. I loved watching this. I think I’ll feed my turtle with this cactus I have in my house, my reptile is a red eared type
Arowana for the pond would be cool. From my experience, they're a lot less skittish when in a pond. They can jump so high so if there's anything tasty hanging over the pond, they will jump for it.
I love the water features u have out front!! I’m sure u have plenty of fish friends that u can toss around ideas with ☺️ it would b cool to get something with a color that’ll stand out, even white 👍🏻 that was just so cool that u caught that tortoise climbing the male to get up to the cactus 😆😆. Having ur tortoises set up outdoors in a natural environment and catching those kind of things n a video makes life pretty awesome, huh 😄 I was pushing for her to make it to that piece of cactus 😂😂 glad u helped her out!! 👍🏻
I have been planing a mini pond build and eventually a large recreational swim area for about a year now. I saw yours about 6 months ago and was very happy to see the results you have had. Particularly since I am located in Jupiter farms as well, and have had concerns about rain and flooding. If you ever need any help with you’re projects feel free to shout out!
I know this quarantine sucks but it does have a good side like spending time with family which we need plus your able to finally get to all the projects and enjoy life without the rush.
I would definitely go with some silver arowana! Especially in your bigger pond! Swimming with a few large 4plus foot ones would be awesome! Plus they are very personable like oscars!
Wow! I think this would be awesome in my indoor iguana enclosure! Mrs Belle Hooks would love to drink from something like that! I just need to make sure and put plants in there that won’t hurt her. She took a bite of pizza that was on the table the other day. Pretty sure she will eat anything,so I have to protect her lol
not necessarily larger fish they only max out at about 6-7 inch but Toxotes Blythii (the freshwater Archer fish) would be a very interesting addition! itd be interesting to watch them spit water at bugs flying around the area. it can be hit or miss with arrowana imo, they're prone to jumping alot so ponds that arent a far larger body of water like your aquascape pond or turtle pond arent always a good fit for them. all it takes is one bad jump for them to wind up as a dried fish jerky. if Freshwater Archers do catch your eye I know a place that regularly gets them! I look forward to whatever you put into the pond!
Add mosquito fish or wild guppies (Endlers) into Sophia's pond. Also add some watersprite (floating Indian fern) for the babies to hid among and will also be some food for the Endlers. They will nibble on the fronds and roots. Self propigating by daughter plants that grow from the frond notches. Sucks up nitrates and could be fed to your turtles, tortoises, and iguanas. Can also be fed to chickens too. Grows fast.
Love the simplicity and long term idea of your mini-pond...bog! In Sofia's Pond a focus an 'River ' or Hillstream species only setup would be awesome. I know allot of the fish species are small, but therefore you can keep much more of them! Try White Cloud Mountain Minnow ( they are highly endangered species in the wild, possibly extinct in various areas). Various species of tropical gobies(e.g. Stiphodon sp.) as well as schools of Danios species such as leopards, Zebra and Giant Danios just to name a few. Maybe even add a School of Rainbow fish species? Does anyone have experience keeping Rainbowfish in ponds outdoors?
You should get piranhas or do red tail catfish, maybe do some South American chiclids like the green terror and jaguar chiclids maybe a couple oscars etc. and you can do a melonistic gar THEY’RE SO COOL!
What type of cactus is that at 14:05? It appears to have no spines and/or glochids. He grabbed it bare handed like nothing. Where can I find some like that? Everything I’ve seen had spines/thorns/hair/glochids.
Hey Kenan!! First off, loving the new hat, the darker colors suit you so well!! Arowana isn't a good fish to get for a pond, they grow up to 4-5 feet, they are jumpers so you also run the risk of them jumping out of the pond and it dying. I would see a largemouth bass in that pond, you can also get them used to hand feeding which is pretty cool.
You should definitely get a large mouth, idk if you fish at all yourself but there’s other youtubers that catch bass and put them in ponds and they thrive, plus they make some awesome feeding videos ;)
I wonder if these mini-ponds could be used as water features in large indoor tortoise tubs or tables...My hingebacks would love them I think...Just keeping it clean would probably be impossible- the bioload would be too high I'm guessing.
Hey Kenan, Rod at Predatory Fins has a good selection of arowana. He's in Boca. A lot of the youtubers use him. And if you're not in a hurry he can look for other fish you may want. He deals with bigger fish mostly. Pat
Good stuff Kenan! Glad to see you staying so busy at the Kamp.
good to see another RUclipsr in the comments of one of their friends
You’ll enjoy your visit post Covid to Kamp Kennan Tanner 👍
I would not recommend an Arowana, as they are quite large (probably too big for that pond), and they are also jumpers. I would suggest a few larger Central or South American cichlids, and maybe some plecos to help with the algae.
I agree
I agree as well
Guapotes, Midas and Mayans.
The yard has become such a vast ecosystem since over 2 years ago. I can't wait to see what other things kamp kenan has in stored..
You certainly have the advantage over Brian. I don't think he has much of an assortment of live plants in Michigan. But he does have a good imagination.
That bowl would look great on my patio. I especially like the soft trickle of the water.

That lil pond kit is expensive, will have to make my own!
Put the bamboo on the island 🌴 in the turtle pond
@@xanderomeister7828 I don't believe there is a water intake in the turtle pond
Very bad idea. It would poke holes in the liner with it's roots, no doubt.
I'm pretty sure the big turtle pond is a natural body of water. no liner
@@Mcnealym11 Ok, sorry, I thought you were talking about the small pond in the video
Great idea it would make the island look really cool also
It's nice seeing u busy making your garden look really nice x
I’m so glad you done this video! I was just about to build one of these myself and you helped teach me how to do it and gave me some great ideas! Thank you Kenan for always sharing your knowledge and helping everyone learn new things!
👊👊👊
Arowana jumps, might jump out!
Will jump out lol
I was just thinking that. No arowanas.
Black diamond stingrays would look AWESOME in that pond!
I’m a dog/cat/ fish person but my addiction to your vids has made me see lizards, turtles and even gators in a different light. I think you are doing a great job educating people with your love for reptiles.

Looks great my man!!!
It's nice to see all these custom Aquagarden builds!
My lil Hermann’s will push rocks to the edge his enclosure to try and climb, so I built him a lil “assault course” to keep him busy, he also loves chasing a ping pong ball. He’s always up to mischief but that 🐢’s through and through 🤗
I like native fish, not sure what FWC allows you down there, but a bowfin would be a cool dinosaur fish that would be very different and interactive
Bowfin are fun. The males are really pretty during spawning season!
Time for another King of DIY appearance.
Bamboo is great as long as you have LOTS of space. Good Luck!
looking forward to seeing it as it gets more settled
Your home is a paradise i love how beautiful and how exotic it is. Truly an oasis.💓
koi fish 😍
No one can complete with Tanner
I will never unsubscribe your channel ❤
Love from Nepal.🇳🇵
I think medaka rice fish would look amazing in the pond. Theyre small but beautiful and have a shine to them!
A very relaxing video that we all needed after all the chaos of face crushing Iguanas and Monitors passing away... Also, I watch Brian's vids just as much as I watch yours, you two are the best of the best to me
A peacock bass would be cool! So beautiful
Love you setup ,Discus cichlids are a beautiful fish very colorful and would look awesome in that pond
oh man this little pond is going to be adorable

Bamboo is the most underrated wood ever. There are so many variaties for different uses. Excellent material!

Get a hold of Rodrigo at Predatory Fins. He’ll know the best fit for your pond
Kenan gets his fish from Angels Hatchery.
I don’t think they have predatory fish like arownans though.
Rod from predatory fins is the man
Get Angels for the pond
@@xanderomeister7828 He already has some Oscars with the other cichlids
Your mini pond looks great! Love your mango tree!

I also love the min pond!

Myan cichlids are really pretty. You could catch your own in various colors.
Put a red tail platinum in the pond. The arrowanna would jump out. Great video bro
What a nice mini pond build....damn it's been a month since I watch kamp kenan...it's good to watch it again...😊😀
some beautiful koi babies

13:37 I propose the rainbow shiner ( _Notropis chrosomus_ )
This is gonna be epic!
I know this quarantine sucks but it does have a good side like spending time with family which we need plus your able to finally get to all the projects and enjoy life without the rush.
Great project and great feeding. Love it.
Loved the video. All those tiny plants(ferns, mosses) look awesome in the bigger pond. Your sanctuary is AMAZING!🐢
Kenan you should get a group of Paratilapia Polleni! The Starry Night Cichlids! They would look PHENOMENAL in the that pond!
Put a lot of mollies, platies and guppies. They will breed like crazy in that beautiful pond.
Finally a pond that fits on my tiny balkon. Love the idea.
I would definitely go with some silver arowana! Especially in your bigger pond! Swimming with a few large 4plus foot ones would be awesome! Plus they are very personable like oscars!

Dude your videos are so awesome. You would be awesome to hang out with . I would love to have one of those ponds
Looking forward to the tour video
Paul Caffaro , Chandler’s Wildlife, and Brian should do it... Oscars, Bass and catfish for the empty pond! It’d be great to see you hand feed them
Red belly piranhas would be a really cool attraction!
cool little pond
A little willow tree would look cool in that too.
Thos is very creative and entertaining with the mini pond off
Dude, this is so cool. What a great option for someone who can't necessarily build a pond, I want one! =)
You should do some fancy goldfish in the pond. They get a pretty big size and they are really pretty.
not necessarily larger fish they only max out at about 6-7 inch but Toxotes Blythii (the freshwater Archer fish) would be a very interesting addition! itd be interesting to watch them spit water at bugs flying around the area. it can be hit or miss with arrowana imo, they're prone to jumping alot so ponds that arent a far larger body of water like your aquascape pond or turtle pond arent always a good fit for them. all it takes is one bad jump for them to wind up as a dried fish jerky. if Freshwater Archers do catch your eye I know a place that regularly gets them! How's about some koi for a Japanese twist? They get quite large and they're bottom feeders, too. Good for keeping larger ponds clean and clear.
This is awesome

It would be good too plant some more Cactus's in the turtle encloses, so the turtles has more chances to browse and have more shady areas.
predatory fins great big fish
