It wouldn't really surprise me, if as predicted such Storms become much more frequent that Haulage companies will be telling drivers to park-up in secluded areas where both their cabs and trailers are somewhere out of the winds until the most powerful of them has passed. Obviously it would only really be in the Red weather warnings, but extreme caution should also be advised in the Amber weather warnings.
Correct the decimation of our Environment is the cause of many extreme weather problems and climate change all down to man messing with nature eg seeding???😮
Anyone with a grain of sense would not have ventured out with a high sided vehicle like the one that overturned,as an ex hgv class one driver no amounts of threats from my employer would have made me drive that vehicle in those circumstances,it’s the drivers responsibility to drive that vehicle safely in all conditions,at least with curtainsiders you can open the curtains to help in winds like this but it’s not guaranteed.
employers don't give employees the choice. greed in the UK is paramount sadly. being sacked because you refused to work means no benefits. Few have the resources to weather that. So the greedy rich stay home safe and employees take the risks
@ A decent HGV driver would not be out of work for 5seconds,there’s jobs for them around every corner so wouldn’t need benefits, every good HGV driver I’ve ever met has never been out of work long, hauliers hate newly passed inexperienced drivers and only tolerate them because they have no options, the same goes for some agency drivers, the good ones get stolen off the agency’s.
@ Obviously you haven’t a clue about the haulage industry, good drivers you keep, bad drivers you get them out of the door before they wreck your vehicles. Haulage is an expensive business to run and there’s a very fine line between making and losing money as any truck operator will tell you.

Climate change " is considered the average weather conditions over a period of looking at the average temperature, precipitation, and other weather factors recorded over a 30-year period. There’s no debate, the planet’s weather is becoming more extreme over the last 30 yrs irrespective of its cause.
Obviously can’t avoid the damage but make sure you get cosy with your neighbors, never know when you’ll need their help and stock up on power banks, battery power torches / radio and a small gas burner for hot water with a insulated flask. £100 in total but a small price to pay for relative comfort if the power goes out. Might be a good idea if you’re in smaller tight knit communities to put towards a couple battery generators some can access in times of need to keep their fridge freezers on and such.

It wouldn't really surprise me, if as predicted such Storms become much more frequent that Haulage companies will be telling drivers to park-up in secluded areas where both their cabs and trailers are somewhere out of the winds until the most powerful of them has passed.
