This is my first and only case I have ever used, when I did my first build over 5 years ago. IMO this is still one of, if not the best looking case ever made, even today. It’s a shame the airflow is as poor as it is. I’m now looking for my second case specifically because of airflow, but nothing comes close to the looks of this thing. Makes it really hard to find something new, but yeah, has to be done. Probably going lian li
DAMN!! Thanks A LOT Steve for the review on this tower! Just a suggestion, it may be more helpful to use standard fan configurations when testing thermals. I don't believe testing the In-Win 303 with 0 fans and $180 Corsair case with 3 fans is really relevant. I would say most people that watch these videos probably have no problem buying additional fans. Otherwise great videos like always :)!
@@VadoVoodoo I was thinking of buying one actually. It’s crazy this case is nearly half a decade old but still beats out a lot of newer cases looks wise
@@chrischong8535 Totally go and get a 570x. I'm using it since 2017, and frankly, I've never seen one I'd rather have. Everything on this case is beautiful, and that opening in the front mathematically (and proven IRL) is larger than needed to breathe. This is the case I would suggest.
I built my friends PC in the 570X and I had no issues with the screws on the PCI brackets. In fact I much prefer having them recessed as it looks much neater from the back. The cable management bracket was a total pain though, but I can understand why they went with it since the right side panel is completely transparent!
Using the case here in 2020 with the AMD ryzen 9 3900x CPU with a NZXT Kraken X72 360mm AIO mounted to the front with the 3 standard front fans moved to the back and top. It cools my hardware pretty darn good. For my normal kind of games and usage. GPU in the pc is a Gigabyte aorus gaming GTX 1080ti that also remains reasonably cold, though you spoke in later videos that using a side mounting bracket to get the GPU vertical where it will be kept somewhat free from surfaces that would choke airflow on it would be the way to go.
Can someone PLEASE explain WHY case manufacturers are adamant about putting glass on the BACK side? Why would you want to look at your cables? It adds cost for no real gain, and it makes it hard to feel good about your cable management knowing that your spaghetti is always visible
Matthew Fennell It's more for the super-enthusiast with sleeved cables and a high end PC. You want to show off every bit of work you put into it, cable management and all
I like the fact that Corsair put the SP series LED fans on the 570X instead of the HD series. The way the SP series radiates light from the center really looks cool. Also the spaced glass skeleton "modern" look kinda made me immediately think this is a good case for a hackintosh.
Steve! Officially subbed. Your product reviews are the best out there. I'm at a cross road - I love the glass look. Really liking the 570X but I'm worried about the noise and my microphone picking it up when I make gameplay videos. The Darkside 900 Pro is the other choice but you haven't done a full review with stat comparisons (yet :P) and it's a little harder on the pocket. Any advice? Am I going to have to completely ditch the glass look :(
i bought this case and replaced the front Sp 120's (which the controller did not work for me either) and put in 6 HD120's which are beautiful....works really well and looks amazing of course. the HD 120 fans really help here. such a good case....the fingerprints on the front panel in your video tilts me lol. Just because ive been cleaning the glass on mine every time i move it....thanks for the vid, really happy to know it has really good cooling. :)
I have the 570x. Its a cool case. Air comes in from everywhere and fan noise is fine. What I dont like very much is the glass on the right side. But I love the case.
Wow... Decided to see what people thought of my case, didn't realize so many cases were this old.. And holy crap Steve you look a bit younger! xD I had the usual 'flickering' issue with the fans btw when not using the built in SP controller.. Didn't matter as i replaced them with ML140 RGBs for the 280mm i115 in the front and just used a single SP120 along with the case logos on the built in hub (140 fans came with a second one!)
I thought nzxt exposed cables look shitty, but I'm a union electrician so what do I know, we always use channels and pipes to hide our cables. Corsair seems to be going that direction with this.
The GPU temps in the Cullinan are great. My EVGA 1080 SC with a stock fan curve (updated vbios) maxes out at 62C in it. Not surprised to see it at the top of your thermal GPU thermal test chart.
This case looks really good. All other tempered glass cases so far are mostly just plain boxes with transparent sides, but this one has some edge to it. Guess I know what's gonna be my next case now. (until the next tempered glass case comes out, maybe?)
It is amazing - 4 years ago I watched this video thinking I should buy a 570x and didn't. Here I am back again thinking what a nice looking case what did Steve think?
I have the 570x and yeah the back right panel that is supposed to cover wires wasn't fitting after everything was connected. I just left the plate off lol!
I forced mine and the glass is bowed. I’m just waiting for it to shatter. Probably my only real complaint about the case. If I had a slightly different SATA cable solution it wouldn’t be such a problem.
Wanted Pickle why you suddenly jump from CPU to GPU? Ofc well ventilated case will help GPU's, however if GPU has also AIO cooler, it wont be a big of a difference.
How would you compare for air flow and temp. this Corsair 570x RGB vs the Cooler Master H500M. Thank you very much for your response. Love your channel by the way!
Nice case, but personally not a big fan of all those tempered glass cases with RGB lighting. Don't understand all the obsession with RGB. Looks silly imo. Still using Obsidian Series® 750D Airflow Edition Full Tower ATX Case and love it. Amazing as always, thanks Steve. :)
rgb is popular because if you get bored of a color scheme you flick a switch and you have a new color scheme. not everyone has it on rainbow seizure 100% of the time
PC cases are quite frustrating lately. NZXT and Phanteks make some beautiful cases with great build quality, but the airflow is always problematic in ways that would have been fixed easily with minor revisions that wouldn't have sacrified the aesthetics. I tried running my Ryzen build in a Phanteks P400s and it was completely impossible to keep both the CPU and GPU cool. The intake is unbelievably restricted and the top fans have the worst mesh/porting ever. Even worse, this totally defeats the purpose of it being a 'quiet' case since you have to run fans faster and kick up the GPU cooling just to get by. I absolutely love the look of the S340 but why on earth didn't they just put a second fan mount up top? :( I understand that the configuration can help with positive pressure, but at least having the option for two top fans gives a ton more flexibility for unique setups. I went a total 180 and got a Corsair 750D airflow edition which has been amazing, just wish they would update it to get rid of the 5 1/2" drive cage, add a PSU shroud, and offer things like colored interior pieces. Corsair is a reliable choice if temps are important, just wish they had better designs and more interesting features like their competitors. Their cases just look...plain somehow, even the 570X somehow looks boring. Some colored PCI-E covers and/or interior pieces would make a world of difference. And for crying out loud, will everyone stop with the glass on the back side panel? Nobody wants it, ever!
Also, NZXT Source 340 does NOT "get it right" with exposed screws behind the case. While you have easy access to the screws themselves, the gap for insert your card is way too small to comfortably work with imo. Like seriously, the biggest issue I had with a pair of 290X cards in that case was just squirming them into place with my Sabertooth X99 installed. It was genuinely awful to work with.
Good thorough review. The lighting controller seems really 1/2 ass for corsair. Why a dumb controller when you have an integrated software suite and control system for lighting/monitoring and cooling?
The case looks good but the airflow with the tempered glass is very poor . When I dropped the glasses front panel my cpu temperature instantly dropped by 10c . It may have been ok with last gen hardware but with the new graphics cards you need better airflow. Good thing is that you can easily remove the glass front panel and leave the mesh.
It really sucks seeing how much you hate the Corsair Crystal. When talking about 'aesthetics' you kept saying you really didn't want to discuss it and it's subjective but it was clear you just hated it.
Peter Cursio I figured out that it actually requires an additional piece of hardware called the Corsair Lighting Node Pro. It''s a hub you plug your fans into and then they can be controlled by software. Hope this helps!
Tempered glass is the most dangerous thing you could put around your computer, i bought a Silverstone RL06 for its GPU temperature stats, and after just one month when i decided to add liquid cooling for my CPU (i unfortunately have a Kaby Lake Intel with stock fan yet) as soon as i unscrewed the pins it EXPLODED WITHOUT EVEN NEEDING TO BE TOUCHED, fortunately enough i wasn't facing it because the propelled glass cut my foot. I genuinely think it might have happened anyways and at any moment, so i'm glad it happened while the pc was shut down and with no power connected. Also miracolously no glass ended up on my Graphics Card (except one piece but it didn't touch the central chipset) or other important pieces. But it's a serious threat for you computer, however you wanna put it.
Got Kingston Fury HyperX 1600mhz with CAS latency of 10, is it generally safe to reduce it by 1 or 2 without additional modifications? Dwarf Fortress really likes to browse the memory all the time which seems to be the bottleneck.
Hi, I'm planning to build a PC around the Corsair 570X case, I've decided on the MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard. The motherboard has a Corsair RGB header, which connects to some sort of Corsair RGB LED controller (I really don't have much idea about those). Can the fan hub that comes with this case be connected to that header to get software control of the fan LEDs?
If actually 2x (!) 20cm fans fit perfectly in the front panel (480x234mm), it's so stupid to design the front panel with 3x 12cm fans instead. Bigger fan - more air flow and less noise. I would only buy this pc case for modding it, making some changes to install 2x 20cm fans in front.
Gamers Nexus no, I mean placement. Question where do u place the probe for CPU. Do u place the probe between the heat zinc and CPU with the paste or in heat zinc fins.
We don't place a probe for the CPU. We use software. Placing a probe on the CPU or GPU would cause the readings to be wildly inaccurate, even if you used a flat probe. We use software for this. The thermocouples in case benchmarks are used for logging ambient internal to the case and ambient external to the case.
Holy crap! The end was the best Easter-egg you've done yet. lol!
