    Dude this is so friggin AWESOME!!!.
    So many ideas flooding in....must right them down....inspiration overwhelming..... I haven't felt this inspired since discovering EVA foam and contact adhesive. Pax paint, floor wax dude I am totally using that stuff the next time I have some tricky armour to build.
    Also massive respect for the Gwar gear. Scumdogs of the Universe was one of my favourite albums back in the 90's I wore that thing out.

  • @PILOTPLAYSS
    @PILOTPLAYSS 7 лет назад +19

    This channel is probably even better than DIY Prop Shop because it's all Odin's own. I subscribed to AWE ME but even then I get disappointed when some other prop makers do things and they're... ehh... less than stellar. Odin's probably my fave, and the fearless ending blooper here is why! This channel is all his own and I'm glad he did a shoutout on DIY Prop Shop otherwise I wouldn't have ever found it. Great work, man, I might even try it myself sometime. You should make something Resident Evil-esque, like possibly the helix looking virus containers or maybe even the P30! Now THAT would be cool and simple!

    • @Hellsong89
      @Hellsong89 7 лет назад +1

      Thing is that most prop makers in AWE do half ass job, forgetting the fine details that make props believable, where Odin shines, though he also fails sometimes, like the container shell sticker being all ruffled, when it supposed to be factory made steel surface. Well i dont mind and next time he probably will put double effort to make it perfect like prop this magnitude out to be and i guess he run out of time on this one.

    Dude, you are the COOLEST. I have that same plush chestburster you have in the stasis tank in your background, but mine prefers to roam free... I never thought about how fun it could be to make props before, but the way you break it down & used accessible, local materials is giving me a hankering to try.

    • @OdinMakes
      @OdinMakes  7 лет назад

      Dude, do it! It's a blast!
      That chamber in the background is from my DIY Prop Shop video that was released the same day this facehugger was. In the Prop Shop episode, I make a much more complicated version, but you can easily see how to make the smaller tank. The plastic was cut from a plastic supply shop (TAP Plastics), but if you can find a poster in a plastic frame at a goodwill, you are golden for a burster tube! As long as it's at least 24" on one side, it will roll into a 8" tube. Don't get worried about plastic glue either, just use clear packing tape.
      And thank you sir!

    Hey, a trick for the wire coat hanger. You can soften it by heating it to red hot with a small torch, and then letting it air cool. Depending on the distance of your bends, you may have to reheat a few times. For short, and tighter bends, the metal will harden back up faster.

    Odin, back in the 80s I used to make creature models and do some stop motion home films. Mostly Dinos and a few Harryhausen characters. I used to mix Acrylic paint with liquid latex for the final paint job. It held up for about 20 years before I noticed some drying and cracking. Of course I never stored them properly...

    Please make Robert Baratheon's War Hammer? Would like to do it myself but still a novice when it comes to crafts. Thanks Odin! Keep up the masterful work!
