I've been biting my tongue re: Eidevall since the start of last season, Charles, but this is just too much. His first season, surprisingly, was his best, but just a single poor loss to the bottom side and it was over. Second season he got a free pass, what with all the ACLs. But last season!!......he persisted with out-of-form/recovering players (Mead and Russo) while players on a hot streak at the time (Lacasse a good example) languished. Awful losses to weak sides like Spuds, Liverpool and WestHam cost us dearly. (OK, having Wubben-Mooy fill in for the class of WIlliamson didn't help either). But then he goes and tops it all by saying Viv Miedema didn't fit into his plans???!!! Is there any system or plan in women's football into which you could not fit Viv Miedema? I doubt it. I would have thought (hoped) that Arsenal management, faced with a choice between losing either Eidevall or Miedema, would have shown him the door, not her!! And he'd already killed off Mana Iwabuchi and Cloe Lacasse by then. Then the Everton game...when did The Arsenal start playing like that?? Really, I can't wait for him to go. I can't believe I'm even saying this, but I'm looking forward to a loss to Chelsea this weekend if it can precipitate his departure.

A thought about the Women's team. When I started watching them, it was after their league triumphs, so they weren't winning much then. But it was such fun to watch. They seemed to play without fear, and it was really entertaining, even when things didn't go our way. Then Montemurro quit and Eidevall came in. At first, I didn't notice much difference, but gradually they seem to have changed to play as if they are scared to make mistakes, but despite that, they still make them! On occasions, our players look really good, but there's not much consistency. You can only work with what you have, but I feel that Jonas is not getting the best our of our players.
Eidevell is failing big time, even managing players he lets big performers go and bring in unknown average players. Arsenal W spend a lot but no improvement on the pitch😡
I agree. I think Kim Little needs to stand down and move to coaching. I noticed she spends more time passing backwards than forwards. There also seems to be issues with McCabe and Mead. I would not be surprised if they move on next summer if Eidvell remains!! It is a shame that we are seeing this from the women’s team at present.

Saliba is an incredible defender, but a change of club during this period of his development carries a lot of risk. At Arsenal, he’s a cog that’s been trained exactly to fit the machine. We’ve seen plenty of cogs move to other clubs before their footballing intelligence is sufficiently mature to adapt to the new machine, and Saliba keeping the bench warm would be a footballing tragedy.

Timber and Califiori have great appreciation potential, despite their cost. Jorgi, Partey and Merino will be leaving for free once their current contracts are up. Tomi and Tierney are (financial) lost causes, imo. Declan holding steady. Unsure about Martinelli’s current value. So, if we were to sell, do we get back what we paid - or more - for Havertz, Benny Blanco, Leo, Raya and Kiwior?
