Matt, do you ramp up volume before a meet and reduce volume off-season? Your old program has 4 days a week but this one has 6. Thanks. Oh, and story liker FTW!
Wow 35 sets of bench, at what rpe? Im assuming 5 or lower. I do 19. I start at rpe 5 and go up to 9 over 4 weeks. Should I up my number of sets or is this enough?
Is there an actual reason why you dont have to pause squats, but do have to pause the bench? Or is it just something they made up
So don’t bounce it off your chest. Side note, they used to not have a start command on bench until about 15 years ago.
When looking at programs other people are doing. Don't copy it, copy the principles and apply them to your own programs. You are a different person with different leverages, recovery capacity and training history. You might need more volume or less on certain exercises with different intensities.
What’s the point of doing a program if you already know better?

Genetics definitely matter, even when nothing is dialed in, i train infrequently because of my sleep, my sleep is horrible, the schedule is horrible, and my diet is inconsistent
But i have a 400lb squat after months of training it, a 235lb bench after a few months too, im 16 and 200lbs
Those aren’t crazy numbers bro that’s to be expected for a healthy teenager

I stopped when he downplayed genetics. Downplaying genetics in ANYTHING is anti-scientific.
