Thank you for this video! I appreciate that you featured past legends and OGs like MVP, Parting, MarineKing, Inno...Miss those days! The hype was through the roof back then. It is true that today's META is much stronger but it is because of them, SC2 is able to evolve and progress to what it is today.

nobrain strat tbh. I never liked those finals, Squirtle deserved the win.
Bunker rushes used to be way more potent back in the days. Protoss had no real early game solutions thus MSC was added to HotS and later in LOTV it was turned into the shield battery
@@busTedOaSthat was the most epic win of all time. Terran had no chance, MVP tried to go late game against him and got completely annihilated by squirrel even though he had half his army trapped on an island. Terran had no business winning anything back then and MVP clutched it.

Parting was so impressive with his micro back in the days, his final against Flash was just legendary

i love serral's look at the end of that game... almost bored... he knew he won before the fight started and it was merely a formality.
The Parting vs Marine King Prime clip at 6:18, does MKP not know how to siege his tanks? He had the high ground advantage for his tanks and Parting had no blink, if he sieged his tanks on the high ground Parting could do absolutely nothing and his whole push would be halted in its tracks. So that was a really terrible play by MKP to leave his tanks unsieged and without their range advantage, since they ended up not being able to constantly fire at the clumped up group of stalkers.
No he dont know how to siege, at that time it was a upgrade for tanks and he didnt discovered it.
@@finanzfalke5643 Oh I see, I thought in starcraft 2 the upgrade was unlocked by default.
@@bluenicholasbf2142 Those were the days when tanks needed upgrade to seige up.
one of my favorite moments was serral vs maxpax in early 2023 or late 2022 where serral absolutely ruined a late game skytoss army in a matter of seconds with perfect lategame zerg control

Back then, you needed to research siege mode in the tech lab.
@@momom6197 Yup, I wonderer the same at fist and watched the Map Name then realized it was from the old days but damn! What a pain it was to research Siege Mode... then they overdid it with the Tankivacs... and finally put the Siege Tanks in a middle ground

It’s kinda sad to see how far PartinG fell off: from one of the top Protoss on the planet to flopping in SC2 after military & having an identity crisis bouncing between whichever new RTS will pay him money to play their unfinished game

Marineking did have a lot of good performance in the past, but I still don't understand why people think 9:04 was a "great micro"... Stim marines vs slow banes off creep, as you can see marines are simply faster than banelings, so he should just stutter step more carefully then banelings can't even deal any damage.
back in the day we all sucked hard time, even professionals had tons of things to improve, so for the time it was super awesome.
Its like saying that wright brothers plane was dumb because now we surpassed the sound barrier :/
I'm not doubting mkp's micro skill, but he was able to stutter step very well at that time, what I mean is there's a better solution which was not difficult for him to do.
