Part of that insane supply count is coz your units being trained in gates instead of being warped, so they stay inside the gates for another 30 seconds but already counted.

Doesn't make any difference. When you warp, it also counts the supply in the exact same moment. When you have 100 minerals and click on zealot.
The insane supply is because he's focused on making units non stop. Just that. warping or not makes no difference.
@@IamHopers subtract warping time from training time. That would be a time where your supply is ahead of actual units you control, compared to warp gates case. Ofc you need to actually build these units, therefore i said "part of".

This is an impressive demonstration that "Just having more stuff" is a pretty good strategy. Not a lot of fancy tech or upgrades or whatever. Just lots and lots of stuff.
I still remember playing Starcraft using TCP/IP direct connect over phone line with my friends and before that WC2 on LAN. Times sure have changed, I love the reference. Keep up the good content.

I havnt watched must uthermal as it's a lot of beating up on people way below your skill.
But I saw this and was absolutely inspired and it's been so good to absolutely abuse vs zerg. They seem to be really caught in the idea that they're ahead that they get stomped by my silly mass colossus game plan. Thanks uthermal for the 8 easy wins yesterday.

There's an interesting timing, because you can create a unit in the gateway, inmediately turn it into a warpgate and then no cooldown for warping in.
I think the benefits of not having to warp in an focus more on macro and micro really benefits this strategy. Basically your gates are never idle. Yes you need more gates because of the slower production rate but early game you will have more money and are able to expand faster and more
maybe to finish games, instead of sending a probe to make a pylon, they can make a proxy nexus to recall to?
200 supply at 8:00.... Yet based on the preview picture, one gateway that can't get any units out of....
Also I didn’t see the supply at 200 at 8 minutes in either game. Did I miss something?

I have to ssk, have you considered a timing +1 attack with zealot/sentry vs zerg and maybe even terran? You can open with a forge+ cannon, nexus first.
technically you can make some warp gates(not for challenge ofc) to use it with warp prism, while making units in normal gateways

I just did the second build twice but with warpgate (at some point) and destroyed a 5.8 terran both times lol its actually sick
As proud Silver/Gold player I don't use warp gate at all. Void Rays/Tempest are the way to go. They shoot up and down and use a lot of supply so there is less stuff to both macro and micro. This is the way. I did play full Gateway games as well, warp gate is something that I don't want to learn. Will steal some of the strats from Marc if I cannot play Stargate for some reason.

If you skip the warp gate you should definitely try out some pylon first before probe builds as you can put down the proxy stargate around 1:56 which is quite bonkers

Can you do a no orbital command challenge? Or at least a no MULE challenge as you always say scans are expensive since scanning lost the income of the mule.

I never understood warp gates. When i protoss i don't use them cause you can make so much more without them. You give up so much production to warp wherever you want
New challenge idea: Brood Lord rushes.
I guess combine it with corruptors to defend them.
And then there is the early game...I suppose you have to allow Lings, maybe Muta or just corruptors
Please tell me the time difference between warp in with cooldown and building a unit directly from the gateway.
Being able to warp-in gives you the units right away. If your being attacked you can have units right then to defend as opposed to waiting for them to produce.
Warp gate makes your units produce faster than they would otherwise I think
Spawn anywhere you have pylon power and build instantly. For example if I am max and my units die then I can instantly reinforce instead of waiting
So he is handicapping himself
The cooldown difference varies per unit, but warpgate is about 25% quicker on average. There is a complete table for all the units on the Liquipedia page of the Warp Gate.
There's theoretically a small advantage in that if you are just focused on spamming units out and keeping the queue active, instead of waiting for a good moment to warp in units, you may end up with more consistent production.
Is this the protoss but actually zerg strategy?
If you ever compete again. I want you to do only 1, 2 and 3 base all-in builds(follow ups allowed when it fits). Roll for which timing(1,2,3) before the match, pick your Race+build(or random race) and go to town. You play best when you don't even know what your strategy is (lol).
I think 1,2,3 base builds give you enough variety so your opponent can't always hard counter your turbo cheese. (I suppose some builds like nuke-spam don't need to be All-ins, just hard timings)
Cannon rushes, prism+immortal micro, factory in the main base, battlecruiser+blue flame rushes, skyToss+Mothership bombs, Nuke spam, thor drop, PROXY REAPER(i thought this was your main build :( ,,,etc.
uThermal MMR 6692, BigGame MMR 3823, predetermined outcome it seems to me. I love the challenges and his amazing energy and gameplay and commentary, but it's so gross to know how lopsided the matchup is.

skipping a 50/50 upgrade as the only restriction does feels rather insignificant if the focus is not on gateways. its it's like playing stimless to grandmaster and just playing mech, starport, etc
Relatively new watcher here, I hope you don't continue with "Coming Up" segments at the beginning of your videos, it's so tacky, and just diminishes the impact when you get to that part of the video, please reconsider. Your videos are fine like you've been doing them, there's no need to change.

I don't know, I understand Marc is just so much better that nothing matters, but I feel like TvP is just completely broken in LOTV. I know pro terrans can make it work, but with all the early game options protoss has they can just take the third nexus off no units at all, doesn't feel like a fair game for terran.
The thumbnail is awful. Also shouldn't you build gateways (at least later ones) a bit more forward instead of tucking some of them behind gasses in the main?
