    The infestor you dropped at 23:13 actually did survive! You mentioned that you lost your "infestor that I had at the front" 24:35, but it acutally joined your units by heroically tunneling while burrowed all the way :D you can see it entering the frame from the top at 24:17 happily obeying your orders and joining the flock of infestors, haha!

If you play vs a grandmaster will you complain that you are getting griefed or should you try to take the game, analyze it and see how you can improve. Of course you cannot win, but you can still get better in strategy, execution and overall learn things from a loss. I have been wanting to play vs Uthermal for a while. I would totally get obliterated, but it would at least be in a cool way :)

    Here's an idea for stealing a probe to make a Nexus. Burrow an infester at your opponents third base, wait for the probe to show up and nurl it, then build the nexus at his third. Once you build your own probe from it you can just go back and make another nexus on your side of the map, but you would only need 1 infestor, and you delay their third forever. Also i just wanna see what a protoss does when he goes to his third and see's a nexus that isn't his.

    Yo Marc, regarding the probe steal, I think the easiest method would be to wall the scouting probe in your main base and go for a quick lair/queens in the natural. Then just neural the probe at your convivence. You'll have to out up with some worker/mineral harass micro for a few minutes if your opponent is feeling cheeky, But I'm confident in your ability to out-micro most players. I'd also suggest going for some light ling harass so your opponent would not feel safe using their recall on the probe.

    • @asdfasdf-mn8iu
      @asdfasdf-mn8iu 7 месяцев назад +1

      This will rarely - if ever - work for multiple reasons. You cannot wall your ramp as zerg because there's no creep there, you'd need like 2 hatchs to wall the probe in. Walling your own ramp means no units or workers can leave your main and the opponent knows this, losing per default on any level higher than plat or diamond. The queen in the main will auto-attack the probe whenever she's not moving, you cannot even stop her from attacking without issuing move commands. Lastly, you'd need like 6 minutes or so to finally get neural out AND you will have to put up with the probe potentially attacking workers or even just your hatch or queen and killing them in the process and no amount of micro can prevent that, because you cannot kill the probe in order to stop it.
      So nice idea, but that won't work.

    Regarding the strategizing at 13:35 about building CCs and such, you need way fewer infestors than calculated, and you would've needed like half the infestors you needed in that game to transport the probe across if you abused the full 22 range the infestor has with neural (8 to neural, 14 to break neural). A CC building for 71 sec means you need 7 neurals to build it and you can leave it on for full duration because the SCV does not move.
    Golden did such strats in the past repeatedly; your opponent knows exactly what you are doing though, because they get vision of their SCV each time the neural runs out (neural has a tiny cast time when the neural thingy flies towards the unit and you cannot re-neural while the previous neural still is active).

With Infestors to lock the enemy in place for either disruptors (ground enemies) or long range tempest shots or the void rays closing in preventing kiting (air enemies) and the immortals to tank for your infestors and disruptors you can take out just about anything.

    I hope you read this. I know building a CC with a controlled SCV is too much, but maybe you could build a bunker and put Adepts or stalkers in it. Another option is making Medivacs and using them to heal your units. There must be a shorter build building you could do with a controlled SCV, that could work with your build.

It just spoils things, you can't just show highlights, it diminishes it when the video actually gets to that point because the build-up would have been for nothing because we already saw it at the beginning, plus the annoyance of just having to watch it again. Really cool strat :-)
    Could it be a viable strat to perma-block opponent upgrades via Overseer contamination while rushing upgrades yourself to win via big tech lead? Or alternatively use perma-contamination on opponent production and rush out cheap units to win via supply lead? Trades wouldn't have to be very good to win if opponent can't produce anything I guess?

      @ThueJanusKristensen 7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, I came here to write the same. Even if the close nexus dies, it is surely still cheaper than building 6+ infesters for the task. Not to mention the APM cost...
      It should be possible to time building the nexus, so that the opponent doesn't see it get built when the probe reverts.

    Maybe you can neural the probe and then load it into a dropper Lord.
    Then carry it across the map and drop it out again. Then Neural it again.
    Then finally build the base.
    Then immediately kill that probe so it doesn't get a scout on you.

    • @asdfasdf-mn8iu
      @asdfasdf-mn8iu 7 месяцев назад

      @@johnsontommyg Nope, creep prevents any buildings other than zerg. Coop removed this altogether, you can place any buildings on creep in coop. In 2v2, T and Z are a pretty annoying combo on some maps because you cannot even land your buildings anymore after lifting them if your zerg partner creeped everything. And some maps make it nearly impossible not to creep everywhere if you want to move your queens or units properly.

    What would you say to play zerg and winning only with static defense (spine+spore) and vipers? You could take guys 4th or 5th base and crawl to his main from there, go to uber high drone count on your side of theap, mostly minerals to spam spines and spores. And if any units outranges you, just joink them into your spines? I would delete this game if i would lose to this strategy xd
