I was an emergency c section. My moms vitals were falling and mine were rising. We both almost didn’t make it. But we’re both still here to this day and I’m forever grateful for the woman who gave me life

I had a C-Section because the umbilical cord was wrapped around my son's neck. I really wanted a natural birth, but I'm just thankful that my baby was healthy and delivered safely.

Michael Weston a c-section is painful afterwards and the recovery time is a lot longer. The ideal birth is a vaginal birth. However, even though I think a vaginal birth is better, I DO believe in epidurals!! I don't know why a woman would want to go thru all that agony when we have wonderful medications that keep us from feeling it.......but to each his own!😉

    • @rochelle123ist

Michele Johnson-Utter there are valid reasons for c section deliveries. My mom had a complete placenta previa. My heart beat stopped and so did my mothers. A crash c section is the only reason why we are still alive.

rochelle123ist I never said their weren't valid reasons for a C section. I said the IDEAL birth is a vaginal birth...........but that doesn't mean there aren't legitimate reasons for a C.....you need to re-read my comment!!

Just had C-section yesterday and now I’m in a recovery process. It’s indeed painful and I applaud all moms out there that can make it through this process of recovery. I’m now learning how to walk but can’t make it more than 5mins because of the wound that makes it feel like a stabbing pain in my lower abdomen. I’m also glad the comment sections are mostly positive instead of shaming moms who decided to use csec either for medical or personal reasons. At the end of the day, the most important thing is to have a safe pregnancy either it’s normal or csec.

My wife just found out she has to have one in 3 weeks. She’s 35 weeks along now and our little 6.5 lb angel will not turn around for anything. She’s upset but everything is going well other than that. I know she will get through it just fine

Sorry about the pain. In my case, I didn't have pain at all from the wound rather it was the discomfort and uneasiness to sit up or stand alone. The doctor said the uterus was still so big and had to take weeks to go back unlike in a natural birth. It felt heavy. The more i breastfed the better. Breast feeding would induce sharp pain in the uterus and more blood coming out from vagina the doctor said it contracting back into position .

I had mine 3 days ago and we got home yesterday! I'm from Europe, maybe medicine here is different. It went very easy for me and l have almost no pain when standing up and no pain at all when walking. I am very thankful for the doctors for this opportunity. I know that l wouldn't handle natural birth mentally and physically due to personal reasons.

Came here to leave a positive comment about my cesarean and to offer hope for new moms who may end up needing to have one as well!!! Don't read the horror stories and assume that will be the case for you! Birthing babies isn't easy no matter how you do it but a positive mindset is important no matter what!! Becoming a mom means you're strong enough to get through pregnancy and birth! Recovery isn't the worst thing in the world because you'll have that new beautiful baby to obsess over!!!! Congrats to all mamas!! I'll be having my second csection in a few months!

Holy crap as a man, just wanted to say that may God bless women. I could never do what they do during pregnancy. Advice for everyone: Always respect your mother folkes and never utter a word of disrespect towards her. If you could go back and relive what your mother went through to bring you into this world, you could give her the entire world and still be unable to pay her back. Alhamdulillah..

@@CLAIREBOZORGPOOYAY if you have a spinal block (anaesthesia injected into your spine) you can’t feel anything from the waist down for a few hours. So there’s usually no pain during the c-section. For me the spinal block hurt like hell and they stabbed me about 15 times trying to get the needle in the right spot 😬 then once that wears off the pain is excruciating. In my experience it lasted about a day and a half before it was a lot less painful to walk and move around

@@CLAIREBOZORGPOOYAY 10/15. The epidural wore off while my OB was still suturing. One of the worst experiences of my life. Is my son worth it? 120%. The pain was just below that of my spinal surgery a decade ago. The emotional pain of hearing your babies first cries and being unable to comfort them was far worse than the physical. My son was delivered healthy but the dr wasnt used to delivering full term babies and decided he was too big at 9lb 7oz. So my son was taken from my uterus to the nicu for 24 agonizing hours of useless tests before I got to be with him. This happened 2wks ago. I'm going to need therapy for the ammount of trauma inflicted in 4 short days. Choose your providers wisely. They have the power to scar you for life.

I had 2 c-sections, the first due to fetal distress and the second due to placenta previa. For anyone facing a c-section, I strongly recommend a stomach binder... it really helps with moving around afterwards. Also sleep on a firm mattress that is easy to get in and out of at night. Good luck to anyone having their first c-section, it's not too bad.

Kymberlie Royal I feel ya! I was intimidate by the catheter in this video but I ended up getting a catheter for something else (not surgery or giving birth) when I was 23 and it was nothing, although it burned when they inserted but once it’s in my bladder it gave me some bladder relief. At the end it turned out to be a cool device because you just pee into that bag involuntarily. Best of all, I realized catheterization wasn’t as invasive as getting a shot because shots you have to poke through the skin whereas a catheter you go into a hole that’s already there and doesn’t require piercing anything.

My mom was forced to have an emergency C-section when she was pregnant with me, after I went into foetal distress 2 months before my due date. Basically, I decided I had had enough of this whole "living inside a womb" situation. So I broke both the water and plasenta, and my one foot was already heading down the birth canal. I almost cost both me and my mom our lives. I can't express how grateful I am for the doctors that kept me and my mom alive and healthy. So to all the doctors and nurses who work with the whole birthing process, thank you for what you do. I have a scheduled C-section in 11 days for my first. Due to the shape of my uterus, baby became directionally-challenged and flipped so he is now breech (or bum-first). Normally the doctors would attempt to turn the baby manually from the outside, but because my placenta is anterior (or in front) that is not an option.
Vaginal delivery is very risky for me to do with a breech baby, with a 70% chance of needing an emergency c-section anyways. So my doctors have decided it is best for me and baby to have the c-section in a controlled state

I'd rather a woman have an abortion than raising a child they never wanted. I think without abortion child abuse, child neglect, and teen pregnancy rates would increase greatly.

My water broke prematurely and I had to spend all 36 hours of my labor flat on my back to avoid cord prolapse. Absolute torture. Had no contractions for the first 16 hours of lying on my back, and then had to get pitocin to get the ball rolling. Went from 0-100 on the pain scale in about an hour, but never made past 4 cm when my 36 hours after my membranes ruptured was up. Had to deliver my daughter via c section, which was the opposite of the all natural birth I had planned, but I had a fantastic team of doctors and nurses and excellent post-surgery care. I couldn't have hoped for a better recovery, and my beautiful healthy baby girl is 100% worth it. Plus I have this groovy scar now haha

What a fantastic video :) I am having an elective C-Section in seven months and I was already excited, this has just made me more so, yay! I had a vaginal, normal birth seven years ago...it was a horrific nightmare that neither myself or my baby recovered from quickly. Never, ever again. I have heard MORE positive stories about c-section then negative ones. So to the ladies like me out there: Just remember...your body, your baby, your choice. Don't feel the need to justify it, you don't have to.

I enjoy watching these videos. Just had my 3rd c-section in June of this year. Everyone has different experiences when it comes to this. My first born was a big baby (8 lbs.). My Ob/gyn told me to take castor oil at 8 p.m. because my son was overdue. At 3 a.m. I was in labor. For 2 days I never progressed past 4 cm, my water never broke. I was told I needed the surgery so the babies heart rate wouldnt go down. My 2nd & 3rd borns were c-sections because of all of the scar tissue that formed over the years so I couldnt deliver naturally. I keep reading and hearing a lot of negative thing about c-sections. All of my kids are in great health.

Murasa Aoi - I personally have a high tolerance for pain. What I experienced the 1st time was a lot of cramping and soreness on the incision area of course. The 1st time I felt actual pain was standing for the 1st time. They make you do it. My 2nd and 3rd time were much easier though. I knew what to expect and I was up and walking right after with both. I will add that I breastfed my 3rd right away (didnt do the 1st & 2nd that way) and I had little to no pain and less swelling in my tummy.

I've given birth 3 times. 2 c sections, one emergency because my baby was upside down and the cord was wrapped around his neck and one scheduled (because the hospital would not let me try natural again). C sections are much harder to recover from than a vaginal birth, but its ALL hard work no matter what.

I had a c section back in 2011 with my daughter. The best advice is to get out of bed as much as possible. if your feeling up to it. The more you sit around the worst the pain feels. of course you shouldn't overdo it but just don't sit down too much and become stiff. My healing process was not easy. It was quite painful for a few weeks. I'm now pregnant with my second and I hope I'm able to deliver natural if all goes well with this pregnancy

I was born in the breech position (butt first) but I was still delivered vaginally and naturally (without pain meds). I can't believe the amount of pain I must've caused my mom!

I had to have a C-Section with my daughter because she was in distress, and with gastroschisis babies (she had some of her intestines and organs on the outside of her belly), they don't play around once they're not moving as much etc. Needless to say, I'm glad they recommended a C-Section. I didn't want there to be any more complications or worse. Doctors and hospital staff are amazing ❤️

My mom had a c-section because she was haveing twins, my brother and I, in her mid 50's. My parents knew that we would we born that way from the beginning, they just didn't know when. My mons water actually broke when she was at a routine checkup. Lucky for them I guess. No need to frantically drive to the hospital.

I had a c-section with all 3 of my children. High BP with 2 and my 3rd child was no problem. 1st csection, I felt discomfort every now and then even if I coughed months after. With my 2nd child, I felt great after 2 weeks. No pain , did normal activities and all. Currently recovering from my 3rd surgery, just a week into it. Dont lift heavy or strenuous activities, let your body heal.

I had an emergency C-Section for severe pre-eclampsia. The pain in recovery was a bit manageable but i still had to take medicine to help, cause it still hurt. My first everything hurt, my body felt so different & i was so anxious cause i’ve never went through that before at 18!! As forward to now i have my son who is healthy at 1 week and 3 days old. And I got my staples taken out and yes occasionally i can feel my uterus adjusting & it hurts but i move very perfectly, & am sleeping in my bed again 🩵🩵!!

I was a c section. My mother struggled a lot during labor. I was in a bad position and unable to be moved easily, on top of that my mom was incredibly tired and was losing strength to push and breathe easily. Thankfully her surgery went well and she was able to have a c section and give birth to a healthy baby.

You just have to think that prior to modern medical advances the mother most probably would have either died or gone through incredibly agonising pain if the baby couldn't be born naturally...

this is why when a mother delivers a baby even she is reborn. just last April i delivered twins through c section and there was no way for me to have delivered but c section since my son was placed horizontal in my body. lucky is this generation who otherwise in another older time would have faced the end of their lives themselves in such kind of a situation. that is why so many pregnant women used to die while giving birth in the older times.

Fun fact: the first undisputed case of a mother surviving a c-section was in the 1300s.

@@AdityAditi2018 Whether a woman chooses or not, India doesn't have midwives to bring back the baby to normal position in womb. All Indian doctors directly or indirectly asking all Indian women to deliver through c section just for money. Lucky are those women who give birth in government hospitals that are still giving natural birth. It's not about the money here but it's about the health and safety of mother and baby. I've been reading that the natural birthing leads to a certain process where hormones help mothers to successfully breastfeed their babies. Also the milk supply wouldn't be less in normal health conditions. I pray that our Indian medical system changes for good.

My first child was a c-section, my second was vaginal. Both methods have their own advantages and both are totally worth it.
It is scary to think about beforehand, but once the time comes to get that baby out, you just do what you have to do.

21 Things Only Moms who had C-Section Knows:
    1. That the giant needle-to-the-spine to prevent pain hurts like a motherfu*ker going in
    2. The cold fear that enters your heart as you’re strapped down to a table while fully conscious (You watched “Dexter,” too, right?)
    3. That you will be simultaneously shaved and catheterized before the numbing meds kick in (WTF!)
    4. The smothering sensation of at least two doctors pressing their full body weight on your rib cage to pop your baby out
    5. That it’s entirely possible for that baby to shoot out of a slit that’s half the size of your palm
    6. The slit will be cut so low that nobody but your husband and God will ever see it (well, except the girlfriends you show after a few drinks)
    7. The gratefulness you’ll feel that there’s a curtain concealing everything…
    8. …even though you can hear everything, including the word “scalpel”
    9. That nothing is scarier than hearing the word “scalpel” while being strapped to a table
    10. …except the thought of standing/walking/sneezing/coughing/pooping/peeing after your surgery
    11. That it’s entirely possible to vomit while lying perfectly flat on your back - but not inhale it - thanks to the quick-as-a-whip nurse who angles your head just so (*you will swallow it all instead)
    12. The wonder that your doctor pretty much took you apart and put you back together again - and she got it all right!
    13. That your uterus may have been housing a mini boxer for the last 9+ months, but that was nothing compared to the beatdown your ob-gyn just gave it
    14. The evil that lurks deep within the souls of the people who force you to get out of bed hours after that beatdown
    15. That you can breastfeed after you’ve had a C-Section, thankyouverymuch, Aunt Sue
    16. …but the lactation consultant telling you to nurse on your side so you can “rest” is most definitely batsh*t
    17. That post-C-Section pooches don’t give a damn about crunches, Pilates, or, for that matter, voodoo magic
    18. The miracle of high-waisted granny panties is second only to the mythical magic of those so-ugly-but-so-comfortable mesh undies
    19. That walking a block during those first few weeks after a C-section takes the courage of seven lions
    20. That you may not have pushed an 8-pounder out, but you’re still going to cling to that no-sex-for-six-weeks rule like a newborn to a nipple
    21. To say you’re disappointed that you didn’t have a vaginal birth…but secretly feel thankful that your lady parts are still nice ‘n’ tight

I had the nexplanon put in at my 6w pp check up after YDS. We weren't sure if we wanted another or not. Finally decided we did so I had it removed in July, exactly 4 months after my sister passed away unexpectedly. I left the drs office and had a "talk" with my sister. I told her I needed her help...Im 41 so didn't have a lot of time for this to happen. I used the period tracker app on my phone and Sept 1st got my 1st positive test. I know my sister had her hand in this and I can't wait to meet the little girl she picked out for us!
