We will be there in February and thanks to your video, we were able to find out about the closures at Owakudani. Were the shuttles in place of the ropeway frequent or did you find them to be in frequent and take a lot of extra time? Thank you so much! We're also going to the Amasake Tea House! The road in back of the Tea House is the old road that went between Tokyo and Kyoto, known as the hokkaido road. Awesome video!

Regarding the ropeway closures, they block of weeks each month (Dec to Feb) so depending on your dates, the ropeway may be operational both ways.
