- Hey guys! In this video I do a review and comparison of two budget usb condenser microphones, the Tonor TC-777 vs the Tonor TC30. They are both inexpensive usb condenser mics, costing under $50. Each mic comes with a tripod desk stand and a pop filter.

Really thank you so much because I was searching both comparison and you did it very well 👍🙏🙏
I thought it was mad that this video was just in the suggestions as I just treated myself to a shiny new Tonor TC-30 for a cool £16 delivered from Ebay.
I haven't long started my own RUclips channel and based on my current budget, the TC30 was the one that jumped out at me.
Despite your preference to the TC777, I think you sounded better through the TC30, for which I'm pleased for my purchase.
Your comparison video was well constructed, and I actually enjoyed watching this video. Keep up with your good work 😊
Dude, this review just blew my mind, I watched the comparison of 4 mics you did also but I think my budget fits this 2 options, now that I've heard them better my conclusions are that the TC 777 might sound better on a different voice tone, I found yours annoying after a while, however when you talked on the TC30 it felts like and ASMR sensation, which I like better lol , thank you for taking the time to make this content!
Thanks for reviewing it was really helpful
Awesome work. I have been reviewing countless affordable USB mics for voiceovers on training videos I am putting together as well as for YT videos. It's hard to really know what to expect from budget mics when starting out. Your video has nailed it, no messing or technical jargon, straight up review with awesome comparison between the two. Think TC30 for me.
Thanks for the review. It really helped me choose between the two. I prefer the clarity of the tc777 too.
Hey Tobias! I was wondering if you were recording raw audio or if you had any settings while recording the audio. Awesome video! Thank you!
update - I bought the tonor tc777 based of your review on it. I did however watch about 10 other reviews but after watching yours I had my mind made up. it has yet to disappoint me. thank you for a straight to it honest review you saved me a lot of money and you allowed me to get a great microphone for cheap price.
Glad to hear you are happy with your microphone! That's great! I'm glad my video helped 🙌
You uploaded this video nearly perfect cause my mic stopped working today. :D
Awesome timing! Sorry to hear about your mic though
As a karaoke host - I have found that with any mic - they work best when they are pointed at your mouth, but your mouth is not facing directly at the mic. Talk or sing at a slight angle to the mic. That avoids pops and still gives plenty of volume. Thanks for the good review. I just ordered the TC-30.
Really needed this awesome review you rock 😬💪🏽
Glad I could help! 🙌
Thank you!!
Do you have any thoughts on ambient noise? I picked a TC-777 and haven't been able to succesfully use it because it gets a lot of noise from everywhere. How would you compare this point in particular with the TC-30?
Thanks for the review this video is really helpful
Glad I could help! 😄
I'm only here because I accidentally bought the tc777 instead of the tc30. But since I got WAY more information than I needed and can sleep with a happy mind, you just earned a sub. Thank you so much for the 5 star review! I agree that the tc777's audio quality sounds more clear and fluent, although the tc30 is also really good. In the US right now, on amazon the tc777 is 5 dollars cheaper.
Dude, this kind of video is what i need, thx a lot!
Glad I could help! 🙌
Hi there, EXCELLENT work here with the video, it's EXACTLY what I was looking for. To me, TC30 it's more enjoyable , but 777 sounds more crystal clear than the 30 one, which is more focused on noise reduction but cutting off high freq.. Do you think I can rid of the high pitch noise of the 777 with a simple noise reduction plug-in through OBS software?
I was looking for a comparison between these two mics, and your video is EXCEPTIONALLY helpful. I'd bought the TC-777 on Prime Day and it just arrived, but it's recording at an extremely low level even though it's maxed out. Searching around, a lot of people seem to have that trouble. Were you able to boost the level at all? I do really love the sound quality on the TC-777, but since the TC-30 records higher, I'm going to get that one and see if it works better for me. Again, thanks for the most helpful video!
Hi Tim, just wondering, are you using this mic to record or stream? I'm not sure what kind of options there are for streaming, but if you are recording to some kind of recording program, you could put a gain plugin on the track to boost your level
Hellooo so was the TC 30 better ?
@@MaxouMiles yeah thats what im sayin for recording music is it better?
your vid helped me lots, tysm!!!
Glad I could help! 🙌
I have both mics and prefer the TC-30 for podcasting.
Do you feel the audio level is too soft and bringing it up introduces a lot of noise? I got one and it's really soft, I thought this was only a problem with mics that require phantom power.
i really like the information given in this video ! but i have a question, what boom arm did you use for the tonor tc-30?
Thank you! The boom stand I was using in this video is the DR Pro
Dear Mr. Tobias Holenstein, I watched your RUclips for several time. I really like this video about microphone comparison. But, please may you help me? I am not an English native speaker while I have little knowledge about audio editing. You did mentioned
1) 6:49 // Cleaner Audio. Sorry to ask. What does it mean?
2)7:31 // Noise Floor. What does it mean?
3) Cable // Is it possible? If I use the longer cable to replace the original cable of TC-777. Can I do that?
4) In your pesonal opinion, in the future, will the world replace USB-B with USB-C, for microphone connection?
Thank you very much.
Thank you for the video. I love it!
You're welcome! and thank you!
I just nabbed the TC30 from Amazon today, with a 50% off coupon. At $15, I think my brother will be happy, as he has no mic at this time.
Wow! That's a great deal! Congrats!
@@TobiasHolenstein Thanks for the great videos on this mic.
I have to admit that this is a great video for comparision.
After listening very carefully, even I felt the TC-777 is so clear but TC-30 has recorded with a bit more volume.
Do you also have a video for TC777Pro, because now I see that also came up in the market 😉😉
Do you know if the tc-777 is compatible with iPhones and/or iPads (using an adapter)?
I thought the 30 sounded better. Also with the longer, and detachable, USB cord - for me that is a winner. 😎
Thanks for the input! The USB cable on the 30 is definitely a plus
I think the TC777 sounds more natural. The TC30 sounds good too, but it's a little deeper (like it has more built in bass). Also, use a gold plated high data transfer USB extension cable for the 777 if length is an issue. That's what I did and it's not picking up any weird interference noise. :) If you can use a boom stick instead of the mini tripod, bring it closer to your face and lower the mic volume range by about 5% to 10%, depending on your loudness and the vocal quality sounds even richer with even less background noise. Honestly, for the price you pay (I got it for 26.99), its a pretty nice mic.
I use the 777 when playing Apex Legends with my friends, hah. Sounds way better than my previous headset mic. :P
Thanks for the upload!
Hey bro, may I ask you what camera you use to record your video? Awesome job...
Thank you! I use a Nikon D5300 with the 18-55mm DX VR lens
the TC30 seems to pick up less noise. :)
Can you do a comparison between the tc 777 and the tc 777 pro?
Great video, thanks! I bought the TC30 as I liked the sound here, but whatever I do with the settings in Audacity, it always has a lot of static when recording on my computer. It has way more static than all other mics I own (on the same settings): my in-built Macbook mic, my old cheap Mpow headset mic, and my Sennheiser headset mic. Is that normal for this type of mic? Have other people had this problem? Thanks a lot.
You should go to sound settings and lower volume of the mic.
very helpful thank you
I'm glad it was helpful 🙌
I'm getting the tonor tc777
I am so excited.. Great video!!!
Thank you Gabriela!
This helped so much! Thank you! One question, what is the difference between USB hub and directly into the computer?
Glad it helped! I'm not really sure what the difference is. I didn't think it would make a difference, but apparently it does. I feel like it might be because it is a powered USB hub and maybe it is a grounding issue, but I'm honestly not really sure
limited speed
Thanks, man ! Your opinion is so import for my decision. Hugs, buddy !
Glad I could help Michel! Wishing you all the best 🙌
Wonderful video
Thank you!
hey, im in a loop hole because idk which to get so just wondering did u use any audio filters in the video
Hi there! No I didn't use any filters or post processing on the audio. Personally I prefer the TC-777, but I have heard some people say that they like the TC30 more
@@TobiasHolenstein great thank you so much you helped me!
How do you live monitor your audio like you had mentioned during your video? I have the tc30 and stream on twitch, and would like to monitor it. Windows mic monitoring is delayed and off-putting, and there is no headphone jack in it so I can't do that either
I was monitoring the audio through Logic Pro. You can monitor through most audio recording softwares. If you don't have an audio recording software, you can download Audacity for free and monitor your audio through there
I plan on buying the TC30 bc i think it sounds good and it’s in the range of my budget.
Enjoy your new mic! The TC30 is definitely a solid mic in my opinion
@@TobiasHolenstein yepp and thank you!!!
@@sm0kingdreamz-931 No problem!
Thank you 🙏
Yes, Tc777 sounds better but i prefere Tc30 for its cable and form, althou the voulume of recording, the sounds is not much worse and we could compensate with a bit of post production or using OBS
I'm listening on high quality speakers, the Logitech Z623, and the TC777 doesn't have good clear lows like the TC30 does.
I understood "My name is The Biased" 😀
I feel like the tc30 might be better hardware wise, but I saved more money by buying the tc-777 ironically
That's good to hear! I definitely like the build of the tc30, I think it looks cool
The TC-777 sounds way more clear than the 30
I agree 👌
honestly i probably would get the tc30 and if it starts getting a problem i’ll get the tc777
The tc30 is still a decent mic. Enjoy your new mic!
Definitely the TC-777, it does sound better, nice video pal.
Thank you!
Thank ya much
You're welcome! 🙌
Yo you are so cool I got one of the microphones because you have it 😎
Thanks! You are cool too! Which mic did you get?
I thought the 777 made you sounds more nasal, and I didn't really think that with the cheaper mic. It's subjective I guess
I love the TC 777
It's a great mic 🙂
i have this mic but how did you make it sound so good
I didn't do anything special to make them sound good. Does yours sound different than mine?
His place is sound proofed so I think that makes a difference
The closer the mic is to your mouth, the lower the volume range you can adjust and the better the sound quality will be. Many gamer streamers (like Rogue from NRG) have their mics sitting very close to their mouths, sometimes as close as 6 or 7 inches apart. The further out you place the mic, the more echo and noise it will pick up. Try it and see.
I have my mic away from me by 6 inches and have the volume range (Windows mic volume setting) to 90 instead of 100. Sounds clean. :)
The TC777 it's 27 buck on Amazon now!!
Woah! That's a good deal!
Hey, I just bought the TC30 but i found out that it picks up sounds from behind quite a lot, I was wondering if the tc777 has a better cardioid pickup pattern or they're the same. Basically i don't want to always wear headphones while streaming but if I don't the sound gets doubled (from my mic picking the speakers' sound and the desktop source). I was planning to buy the tc777 to try but if you could help me beforehand it would be awesome, thanks!
Hi Bruce, so unfortunately I think you will get the same result with the TC-777 and pretty much most condenser microphones, just because condensers are so sensitive. If you are really trying to avoid wearing headphones you might actually be better off with a dynamic microphone and putting it on a stand to bring it close to your mouth. I hope that helps!
The beard kinda makes you look like Lance from Pulp Fiction, lol.
That's too funny, someone else recently told me the same thing on another one of my videos kinda recently lol
@@TobiasHolenstein, Really? That’s pretty funny, lmao.
TC-777 definitely sounds a bit better. Just had a cleaner and more professional sound.
But honestly, whichever you choose I don’t think anyone would notice the difference unless you mention it.
idk which one to get because some reviews the tc 30 is clearer but others the tc777 is help me pls
The TC777 definitely sounds cleaner to me
Same tc 30 sounds very clearer than the tv 777
Tc*
I have no clue what to do. My Apple Laptop doesn't have a USB port for me to plug this thing into. What do I do????
Does it have a USB C port? You can get a USB C to USB A adapter if that's the case
You can use a USB extension cable, that would fix the problem instead of using a USB hub.
What I’m getting at is that they sound basically the same but ones 10 dollars cheaper
Yeah, like I prefer the sound of the TC-777, but they are pretty similar. I've also seen a few people comment that they prefer the sound of the TC30, so I think it's a lot of just personal preference, but to me the TC-777 sounded a little cleaner
I feel like the TC30 made you seem muffled while the TC-777 was more clear.
I think that the 30 sounds a little more bassy in a way
True
I'm currently using the TC-777 and the microphone is giving off a loud hissing/electric humming sound. I am sitting in a homemade VO booth with some LED lights. I'm also using a Microsoft Surface Pro and am recording on Audacity. I tested the mic several times, closer to the computer and further away, with and without the lights on, but it sounded the same each time. I previously used a USB adapter thinking it would help but it only worked for a moment before destroying my mic somehow. I had to get a replacement mic and while it does connect to my computer's USB better than the previous one I am still getting major electric twangs in the audio. Has anyone had this problem and if so do you have a solution?
Sorry to hear that! Just curious, do you have your Microsoft Surface Pro charging while you are doing this? It sounds like it might be a grounding issue, but I'm not sure
@@TobiasHolenstein No I did not have it charging while that happened. It was just me in my booth, with the laptop, microphone and led lights.
@@mateogonzalez5678 Ok I see, I'm wondering if maybe you got a defective unit. Maybe you can return it for a new one?
@@TobiasHolenstein Oh I did, I got a new one recently and the same thing happened🥲 They gave me a refund on it though so its cool I guess.
I don’t even know Whitch one I want now lol I needa make my mind up so I can get it already
Yeah it's a tough decision!
I agree with you
The tc 30 sounds less clear but louder and no interference but the tc 777 is clearer and way more interference
I like TC 30 and USB C
I think the tc30 sounds just a bit better
opino lo mismo, como que se escucha mas brillante.
Hey I’m here
Awesome!
I also think that Tonor TC-777 sounds better
I love tc 30
Nice dude, are you getting the tc30?
But I found the tc 777 on sale on eBay used so that’s my pick
@@vinnydoty3021 Awesome! Enjoy your mic!
Nice talking you!
I mean there both great but there on sale
What r ur other 4 pokemon????

I never knew there was a Tobias in pokemon until now😵
@@TobiasHolenstein lol
Hes a very mysterious trainer who beats ash with just two pokemon and he has a ton aof freaking legenderies on his team, we only know two of hia pokemon
Sry, if ur not interested :D
The tc30 sounds better than the tc777
the tc777 sounds a lot clearer and less loud than the tc30
i own the tc30 and in game chat on cod they say it sounds like im underwater im prolly gon buy the tc777 for a 10 dollar difference its a lot better
TC-30 łatwiej przechowywać niż tc-777 jaki jest duży i jego statyw jest bez demontażu tego druta.
TC-30 sounds better to me
I agree. I can't tell if that's just because it's louder
TC 777 definitely sounds better
tc30 sounds better
tc777 more narrow and higher pitch
The TC777 is way clearer imo...
Tonor TC-777 sounds better to me
Tc 777 what I have
777
TC30 sounds better to me
i can't tell the difference xD
It can be hard to tell the difference haha
tc30 is better
Nice info on the video. But man you have to learn to stop your speech properly. Even after your editing is kinda annoying listening to someone that never "puts a full stop" in his sentences.
