This is such a good review, showing what the mic sounds like and what it picks up, the different distances and a super short video? probably the best review I've ever seen, thank you.
I randomly received this mic as a birthday present yesterday and I am not tech savy or anything, so this was a great start and review, in 4min it gave me all the info I needed and answered my questions. Well done and thank you!
thanks for the really good video. You went through a lot in a short amount of time and I appreciate that. Also the mic test from different distances was very helpful, never would have considered that beforehand
@@RyanMB1990 it only seems to be quiet on my I movie, when I used it on playstation it was perfect. I tried increasing mic sensitivity to full on my Mac settings on I movie but that didn't work. Haven't been able to rectify the issue as of yet
dude i just wanna say thank you for doing the type tests in your review?? it's such a simple thing but it's so obvious, i'm literally trying to figure out a mic setup that will reduce my keyboard noise because my friends are complaining about it in our discord calls. small details like that really make a review worth watching. thank you.
@@z1memo Yes I got it as a gift! I have been very happy with it. I use a non-mechanical keyboard when I play games and those in my Discord calls have had no complaints(while previously they did) 00. It's important to note that I took a gamble based on 1. the not obnoxious keyboard sounds in this review and 2. the difference in volume he showed based on directionality and mic distance. I have my mic on a boom arm close to my face. I can't speak to the keyboard noise picked up by Discord if you have it set up the way he does in his video. Hope that helps a bit :)
This is a great mic!!! I had a Blue Yeti and it's comparable. As Phil said, it's lacking the sharp tonality the Blue Yeti can pick up but it's *almost* as good. HIGHLY recommend!
Hello sir I came across the video while trying to look at a review of a mic that I just bought for my new system love you review it was clear straight to the point and concise and I bought it for a really really decent price I think I'm going to really like using this mic for my podcast God bless you sir and have a great weekend
Ive been looking for a review for this microphone and happily found you!! Thankyou so much and i all ready have this microphone for streaming and recording and over its pretty good i do get a bit of background noise idk if it’s because of the tripod or maybe because i have it faced the wrong way but over it is deffinelty a good microphone and glad to see a review on this thankyou very much :)
Those of you who would like to see a real world review on this mic for to my channel this is the microphone I use for all my videos and podcast 👍 And in my honest opinion it's not the best considering the fact that it picks up a lot of background noise but it's good for what it is.
Hm, what program are you using to record with? Usually excessively loud input levels and lots of noise indicate there's additional gain being applied to the input feed. I would check your software's settings and the mic's properties to ensure that gain is set to '0' and you can always adjust the input levels lower: In Windows 10, search for "sound settings" in the Cortana search bar, under input with the Tonor mic selected in the dropdown, click on Device Properties, and set the input volume to something less than 100. Adjust to your liking and see if it resolves your problems.
I don't think it's accurate for everyone tho. Some people have the mic infront of the keyboard so the keyboard's sound gets dampened because it's behind it. But a great review overall!
Hey, Thanks for that video. But I still have a problem. When I'm recording (with Audacity) with this microphone, it sometimes turns down and suddenly changes deepens my voice . I dunno how to fix it.
Hm, usually when there's a random pitch drop this indicates a power draw problem. Do you have the mic plugged directly into a USB port on your laptop/computer? Sometimes plugging into a USB hub or port expander, or even secondary ports like on a monitor, can result in reduced power going to the mic. So first I would try using a different USB port, if you have any that are marked USB 3.0 (blue tab on in the inside) or "SS" for SuperSpeed that are directly connected to your motherboard, these usually deliver more power. The other thing you could do is try unplugging some of your other USB devices, if you have a lot plugged in, and see if reducing the load on the USB array eliminates the distortion problem.
Hello, nice video, would you say it would be suitable for music recording and vocals ? Nothing really professional, but for Soundcloud uploading purposes for example ?
I keep getting surface vibrations even though its secured on the rubber bands. Anyway to minimze though vibrations without having to buy a microphone boom arm stand thing?
The only other thing you could do is eliminate the source of the vibration. Like if your laptop fan is causing the noise which is traveling through the mic base, set your laptop on a different surface. You could also try using an application that applies live audio filters to filter out the surface vibration sounds. I know OBS has audio filter capabilities, though I haven't used them myself.
I thought the review was very good and spelled out how to use the mic correctlu I was surprised not to find any comments about the rubber feet which I have found come adrift too easily.
Hey buddy, I have a ps4 and I wanna get this mic, when I hook up this mic to my ps4 do I keep my headphones plugged in the pe4 controller to hear audio but I speak through the tonor mic?

To eliminate background noise in Garageband: 1. Press ‘B’ to open the Smart Controls with a track selected 2. Check the “Noise Gate” box 3. Slide the noise gate bar to the right until the noise is reduced without affecting the sound you want to keep.
What worries me the most is the fact that it heavily dampens audio from everywhere except the front. This would be my first microphone of this style so I have no idea how common this is, but wouldn't this be a huge hassle as you'd ideally have to have it right in front of you for your gaming setup instead of slightly off to the side or something?
On laptops, sometimes this is cause by the power cable being plugged in and simply unplugging it and running on battery will eliminate the noise. On a PC, it could be your sound card generating internal feedback or simply the mic capturing external background noise (computer fan vibrations, etc.). My Tonor CT 777 outputs a constant buzzing and the audio is waaaay too loud. Is it broken? Did I install some drivers wrong?
On laptops, sometimes this is cause by the power cable being plugged in and simply unplugging it and running on battery will eliminate the noise.
