for those who are curious, I think I figured it out: 1st chord is x-7-5-7-7-x 2nd chord is 5-x-5-6-7-x 3rd chord is 5-7-5-5-8-x 4th chord is 7-x-7-8-8-x (all E to e)
Forgot to say in my last comment, I was just soloing over these chords. I played E natural minor over the first one, and E Dorian over the second chord. And then I played E natural minor again over the 3rd chord, and finally, I played E harmonic minor over the final chord. Sounded pretty good.
You have absolutely inspired me into deciding what my chosen genre of playing is; funk! I can’t help but moving tap my foot and I amateurishly learned a couple of your riffs and I can’t wait to learn some more
@@TomoFujitaMusic Tomo As someone with your level of experience and talent, it would mean the WORLD to me if you would listen to my song “The Climb.” Please, it’s four and a half minutes long. I know that you are a busy man but a Musician of your caliber your opinion on my songwriting capability would really mean the world to me
Tomo, you are an amazing guitarist and I think it's amazing how you pass that on through teaching. Is there perhaps a chord chart to this awesome funk?
Love you Tomo and that's a funky riff! That little Tomo triplet picking I'd know anywhere! Beautiful sunburst Strat style! What kind of guitar is that? I've seen it a lot! ✌️❤️🎸🎶🙏
I figured out all four chords from watching and listening. But I'm having trouble finding the exact frets for that diminished run. I can play it moving up every 4 frets, but that's not what you just did here. Anyways, I can see why you can't stop playing this chord progression. It's so fun! I love playing funk on my strat. You can't beat it.
The diminished part is just 1 chord with four "inversions" d#dim/f#dim starting from the 5 string, then Adim/Cdim starting on the 4 string. Then he goes for d#min7 into Emin7. Then back to Emin9
I have the chords down but that strumming is really intricate. it sounds like your strumming 16ths notes with a lot of muting. Would also like to see how you would improvize over fried neckbones by willie bobo aswell
you literally made me go up from my bed and stop watching shorts just to go grab my guitar play this riff, true master
Awesome! Thanks!
X2 xd
OMG same here!!
Lol same here!
I'm running out of the shower as we speak 🚿🎸
for those who are curious, I think I figured it out:
1st chord is x-7-5-7-7-x
2nd chord is 5-x-5-6-7-x
3rd chord is 5-7-5-5-8-x
4th chord is 7-x-7-8-8-x
(all E to e)
I think that's correct, man. Maybe it's Em9 - A13 - Am7 - B+7, what do you think?
@@Diego7Strat I never learned chords like that (although I know exactly which notes I'm playing because I do know music theory... just not chords)
the fast ones are
x--6--7--5--7--x
x--9-10-8-10-x
x--x--6--7--6--7
x--x--9-10--9-10
x--6--8--6--7--6
x--7--9--7--8--7
Yeah got this as well, but cant figure out what the couple fast paced chords are that he just throws so easily, can you help me out?
👏👏

How can I mute low E string while playing Fm9 chord?
Not easy. Use your 2nd finger tip to mute that E string
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank you! I will try ❤️
Do you use compressor often ? Because i love the sound of your guitar playing and i wonder if i really need a compressor
I own a lot of compression pedals but I don't use it. Simple set up. No need any compressor>
Sounds groovy asf, what’s your setup & eq
Thank you so much! Very simple! More treble, less bass in general.

Hey Tomo! what are the chords on the turnarond? sounds awesome!
I played a bunch of Dim7 chord from that Dom7 chord.
From M3, 5th, 7th etc...so it sounds M3 5 b7 b9 for that Dom7 chord.
Woooow nice. How many guitars have you got?
Thank you! That’s a great question myself?
Wow into be your double stopping
