Hi there, just wanted to let you know that you're the reason I'm riding...I saw one of your videos and you were so passionate about riding you inspired me to get my license...I bought a new kawasaki z650 as my first bike and I now have 15000km on it in just two seasons...just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration...I love watching your videos...stay safe out there...and RIDE .
Cardo had an edge over Sena for a while with their speakers, but not any more and the interface Senas use is arguably better. YMMV I use cardboard to protect my tire and wheel when spraying on chain wax (or cleaner). Works great. A dry lube or a wax will avoid fling off. Personally, I don’t like backpacks when I ride, not do it want a bulky thing on my back if I crash. I have to agree that RevZilla has a kick ass return policy.
The heated layers is a great idea. And maintenence supplies you can always use. I'll be honest, if someone bought me a smoked visor it'd sit on a shelf and never get used. I sometimes commute in the dark and tinted visors are useless. My helmet has drop down shades and it is the best of both worlds. Not as cool looking unfortunately, but more practical for me
The chain paste is a game changer for me, I'm really OCD when it comes to cleaning, and ending up with a greased up rear rim and other parts after spending a half day cleaning the bike to factory finish was enough for me and just couldn't find a practical way to lube the chain without spraying it on places where I didn't want it to go. Now I glove up and massage the paste ONLY on the chain and it stays there. Brilliant product!!
Irritating af. Never seems to matter how long you let it sit before you ride or how much extra lube you wipe off with multiple clean rags it always seems to fling onto the rim and the lower left side of the tail plastics and if you don't wipe it off that day it gets harder and stickier to clean off
@@monstereng43 I just finished up my first season of riding and used some cheapo castrol chain lube I found at walmart. It worked in the sense that my chain is nice and rust free but EVERYTHING was covered in lube. I thought I had an oil leak but it was just lube dripping down from my front sprocket... an obscene amount of lube. Took me a couple of hours to clean up lol. Y'all have any experience with Maxima Wax based chain lube? I bought some but haven't ridden with it on to see if it flings.
@@lakaiskates8064 I use it, it’s best to apply when the chain is warm. So I have a good ride, quick clean and spray. Then I let it sit and set before I go out. It doesn’t splatter, I make a bigger mess when I’m lazy with my cardboard shields.
Really interested in the heated base layers especially the pants. I ride bike (in Ontario, Canada) now till it gets about 34 - 38*F in the morning, I have a half hour commute to work. When my commute was 10 minutes I rode till ~14*F and its always my knees that get cold. Feet are ok, recently installed heated grips so that helps the hands a ton. Love riding the bike, save so much money on gas.
I've used heated gear before in cold weather. It's pretty awesome. My first go was a sweatshirt from Milwaukee tool company and it takes a m12 battery. Was actually pretty nice under a leather jacket. But nothing really replaces purpose built heated riding gear. (Check the snowmobile shops. It's cheaper alot of times)
@kelton Wright. Save your money. Do layers right. I suggest because I use them tsla compression thermal shirt w/ Hoodie. A neck gator (windproof). Any fall season jacket that fits under your motorcycle jacket. After the motorcycle jacket put on either a leather jacket or insolated windproof/waterproof jacket. Pants the same. I do rain pants over motorcycle jeans over thermals. Socks 1 dress nylon sock 1 merino wool sock. For hands I did go electric. I run the Merlin Minworth Heated Gloves from revzilla w/ a extra thermal liner... eventually I'll get heated Grips too. So far I've done highway speeds in 20°F (-6°c ) comfortably.
So as a big fan of proper layering, I will also play the other side and say, I don't think I could do a heated base layer. The insurance of having heated gear does make me feel better. In all truth, even down to some of the stupid low temperatures I've ridden down to, I've worn the heated gear, plugged it in, never needed to turn it on because bi was dressed for it. But the heat is there if I need it. When the weather gets colder than you're willing to be in, you at least can get home.
Just buy the GERBINGS. Get the socks, pants, jacket and gloves. I live in northeast Pennsylvania. Ride down into single digits. Staying toasty warm. I have 4 sets of gerbings. Bought all of it used.
Bonus idea; if they wear glasses, a gift certificate from FlyingEyes (previous sponsor of Lali's). I've been wearing my Luzon pair for a little over a week. The thinner, flexible arms of the glasses are great for helmets or noise canceling headsets. The field of view is huge, too, which I really really appreciate. The magnetic clip-on sunglasses are not insignificant when added to the frame, you definitely notice how much thicker your lense frame becomes. Negatives; found out today they are not compatible with N95 masks. The flexible arms will let these glasses slip off your head if you look straight down (bent over a backpack for example), this also means they don't grip your head, so an N95 mask will just push them off your nose, and then they'll slip off even easier. (Side note; I've started sitting upright more, and keeping my chin up more since wearing my Luzon set from FlyingEyes because of this. So it's not all bad) now realizing i forgot to use lali's code at checkout. RIP.
Chilly chest - newspaper! Granted it's been quite a while since I've bought a newspaper, but I've been out and about before on a bike and have needed a little extra insulation so picked up a free paper and used a few sheets in the front of the jacket. Works a treat!
Lali, heated gear is the way to go. I have had the “ base” layers for years ( at least since 1996) and Gerbing is the best. The gloves, pants and jacket are so toasty on those cold 🥶 days even down to freezing temps. Yes I have tested them down to those temperatures 😉
I think the Gerbings run on the larger side because it's more comfortable to have some kind of layer between the heated gear and your body. I have the heated jacket liner and it helps to have a long sleeve t-shirt or sweatshirt underneath to better distribute the heat from the microwires.
Lali - tip for Gerbing gear. I've got a jacket liner (2008) that is not a tight fit. If you need the extra heat - find something stretchy that's a snug fit - put that over the jacket so that it's snug. Makes a big difference at 26 degrees 😎 Nice job!

FYI on chain lubing (from a rider that started in the 80's and became a certified mechanic in '99), if you're running an o-ring style (X/W/whatever shape ring), the only thing you need, or want, to do is condition the o-rings. You don't want a bunch of gunk on the chain, it'll just act like a dirt magnet, which then works like an abrasive paste to eat through those o-rings and accelerate wear on the chain and sprockets. If you're meticulous and want a clean bike, that means just putting a drop, one single drop, of whatever flavor chain lube you like most on each o-ring. There shouldn't be anything to wipe off when done like this. I like a much more liquid lube and personally use Super Lube 56204 (4oz bottle lasts YEARS) If you want "easy" and don't really care about clean, then an oiler ~ either automatic or manual ~ is the best solution. $20 for a manual chinesium oiler up to $120 for a Scottoiler (premium brand name) automatic system with a bunch of options between. If you're running a non o-ring chain, you STILL don't want to spray the side plates themselves, you're still looking to lube Just the end links where the chain pivots... you don't really see much real world application for these chains outside of racing (o-rings steal a little power).

I haven't tried the chain paste, I'm curious if that holds more dust, sand, etc than normal spray chain wax does. I use a little gizmo called the "Grease Ninja", it puts the spray wax directly onto the bits of the chain that need the lubrication, and pretty well prevents overspray.

enjoyable video with some great gift ideas. From a safety perspective: please do NOT suggest replacing a back protector with a (semi) hardshell backpack...
I would say colored visor is not that great for most riders. It ends up that you ride with out eye protection when it is suddenly dark. Most people cant see anything, with that on. And why not get a helmet with extra sun-visor in the helmet. That is super great, and many helmets have that. I use the SHOEI Neotec 2. That is an good helmet, if it fits you head. Remember people have different shapes and size of head. Just testing a helmet some minutes in a store, will not tell you if it fits you or not. You have to use it riding for 2 + hours, That is when you find out if it really fit you or not. And it can start to hurt your head, pressure points and get head aches. So it is best to find a store with someone that know about this things. Even worse is if you helmet is to big. Then you have to buy a new on, at once. That is like riding a bike with out a helmet on. If you crash it will just fall off, and not protect you at all.
I have these packets of liquid that I squirt into the tank of my snogo. Imagine a Polaris XCR-800 screaming down the trail smelling like a 500 pound strawberry. YES! It is perfume for gasoline. There are different scents available too.
Pretty sure that whole fad started out with two stroke oil. I first experienced it on a snowmobile. Blasting across a powdery snowfilled monochromatic world, someone passes you and then… a strawberry smell comes out the backend of what is clearly a high performance hydrocarbon burning piston engine? It’s just wrong 🙊
I wish I live outside this country, anything above 400cc bike the vehicle tax is basically insane, mt07 like yours cost literally 15kusd ~ maybe more 😢
Hi Lali! You made a database about helmet made for eyeglasses awhile back, are the helmets you have on this video a good fit for eyeglasses also? They look very nice indeed
No neither the Icon, AGV or Sedici ones I have are particularly glasses friendly unfortunately. But since I started working with Flying Eyes Optics I don't really mind anymore because those glasses will fit in all of my helmets regardless comfortably
@@AntiParallali I'll keep that in mind. I haven't ridden a motorcycle before. I want to start and plan to take the MSF course this year. Thankfully I found your channel. Honestly would like your opinion on riding gear for wet weather. I've wrecked multiple pairs of rain pants because of exhaust heat. And then the cleanup on the pipes after urghhhh. Mayb you could point me in direction what Revzilla has that you tested would be great
Also, wet weather gear. Have you tried an overpant? How are your pipes melting your gear? Maybe some heat shield wrap around the area of the exhaust that's a problem could help?
@@AntiParallali I actually bought a pad that wraps around where the leg is closest to the exhaust system. I ride Indian cruisers and they run real hot my 2003 did and my 2106 chieftain does too I've burned up holes in both my rain gear and one was Frogg Toggs. FYI I like gear you suggested with battery .. thanks
Ah yes. Removing leathers. I remember back when I still rode with full leathers before I converted to textile. First time I went to try and remove them without a base layer on. I was all like "well I guess I'm just going to spend the rest of my life with this suit on." If you wind up enjoying colder rides, heated grips will change your life. They make ones that just tie on to the grips so you don't need to keep them on year round.
Best looking/safest gear on the market is all made by Dainese. I ride Dainese only, for my jackets, my DAir airbag vest, and my DAir Misano 2 leathers. I can understand the bluetooth but to me, any type of electronics other that whats on the bike, is a distraction, you want all your senses sharp, especially on the road where its most dangerous already. I ride my bike so that work calls wont annoy me, and the sound of my exhaust is music to my ears enough.
I went to look at the heated base layer on line for my wife. The heat is only around the chest area. Most women need heat around the lower body, not the breasts. I guess they didn’t have a woman on the design team.
Cum fac sa imi gasesc si eu o fata ca tine ? Si frumoasă si deșteaptă , si motociclista convinsa , la mine in Timisoara cred ca sunt max 5 femei care se dau cu moto! Sa ai o zii frumoasa ca tine !
It takes a lot of time to reconfigure a unit on a new helmet. You can't just buy a "base" and then snap the main Cardo unit onto it from helmet to helmet unfortunately
Imagine you're shopping in RevZilla and Lali walks in, it would really hard not to just walk up and hug her, she's just irresistible. Maybe I'll just ask if I can hug her and she'll say yes😍
@AntiParallali ¨Lali¨the Cardos are amazing we took a ride with my Bro in New Orleans and I already had my unit he bought his for the trip and we tested them, three things were amazing, the easy party connectivity was the first one, the second one was that If I took a call on my unit it paused the party and I could take my call private and when I ended it sent a notification I was back so my bro knew I was back and stopped the singing thinking he was alone on his side. And Third, damn the distance we could be two street lights apart and the quality of the audio was flawless
Around freezing for me. I should mention that I wear an open face dirt helmet at the moment (came from dirt; been on the road for a few months), and that’s about when I start to not be able to feel it after a minute of riding. I bet I’ll be able to go a bit lower with a face shield and a solution for hands.

That heated shirt… my wife needs that around the house.
Good Context 👍😊Thanks
Awesome stuff!
i feel you was trying to drop hints to some people. lol. how you all wear black in the summer ill never know lol. good vid
I have these packets of liquid that I squirt into the tank of my snogo. Imagine a Polaris XCR-800 screaming down the trail smelling like a 500 pound strawberry. YES! It is perfume for gasoline. There are different scents available too.
😮 they make "motorcycle perfumes" ??? That's hilarious! 😂 I want one
Ahoy Jeanette,
Great info, but where do you get it, and or, what is the name of the stuff for a search?
Thanks.👍
@@colinm1325 Fuel fragrance is the search term and "a warrior woman" is the place. I cannot put in the name YT takes it out.

Thanks Jeanette 👍
I wish I live outside this country, anything above 400cc bike the vehicle tax is basically insane, mt07 like yours cost literally 15kusd ~ maybe more 😢
Cardo Edge 🙌
Once I get my motorcycle license, I'll probably get all those items you've recommended even the Flying Eyes, the Ogio backpack, the Lightmode kit, and Cardo headset to start. You just resonate with me which makes it so easy to trust your advice from the start. Your visit to Romania must have brought back nostalgic feelings about growing up over there. Keep up the awesome work and always be safe!!!
I see a theme you like carbon fiber, your next bike I think you should buy or try to team up with a brand to do the entire bike in carbon
How do you clean the heated base layer?
Honestly would like your opinion on riding gear for wet weather. I've wrecked multiple pairs of rain pants because of exhaust heat. And then the cleanup on the pipes after urghhhh. Mayb you could point me in direction what Revzilla has that you tested would be great
Hey by the way you have everything Hows someone get you a gift ???
Haha I could always use a new motorcycle 😂👀
Also, wet weather gear. Have you tried an overpant? How are your pipes melting your gear? Maybe some heat shield wrap around the area of the exhaust that's a problem could help?
@@AntiParallali I actually bought a pad that wraps around where the leg is closest to the exhaust system. I ride Indian cruisers and they run real hot my 2003 did and my 2106 chieftain does too I've burned up holes in both my rain gear and one was Frogg Toggs. FYI I like gear you suggested with battery .. thanks
@@AntiParallali Ok but like you said its something the rider picks so what would that motorcycle be ....lol
Ah yes. Removing leathers. I remember back when I still rode with full leathers before I converted to textile. First time I went to try and remove them without a base layer on. I was all like "well I guess I'm just going to spend the rest of my life with this suit on."
If you wind up enjoying colder rides, heated grips will change your life. They make ones that just tie on to the grips so you don't need to keep them on year round.
Yes lol I've had friends pull sweaty boots and leathers off me because I couldn't get them off 😂
"Lali's making a list, and she's checking it twice" xD
😂 haha
I just ordered the chain paste! This wont harden on the chains, will it?
I've never had an issue with it
Welp, time to forward this video to everyone who ask me what I want for Christmas 🎄
Me, a goldwing rider watching the chain cleaner segment: “Yes. Interesting.”
12 volt heated clothes is so much better than the battery ones.
Grime Guard !!!
Im inlove :*
super fain! 😉
Baclava and Gloves
@AntiParallali >>> 👍👍
Hello great movie very nice mounted ;)
New vid!😎👍
Gift me tires and new knee sliders 😂, I am always in need 🤦♂️
⚡️ Team Lexin ⚡️
I went to look at the heated base layer on line for my wife. The heat is only around the chest area.
Most women need heat around the lower body, not the breasts. I guess they didn’t have a woman on the design team.
I just want m1000rr 2023 for my Christmas gift hahahaha
so a cardo for each different helmet .. why not just move it ? .
It takes a lot of time to reconfigure a unit on a new helmet. You can't just buy a "base" and then snap the main Cardo unit onto it from helmet to helmet unfortunately
A ninja turtle for sure
do not sleep in a heated base layer unless you fancy getting burned or potential fire.
:O wait what?? That's a thing?? I DON'T WANT TO GIVE UP MY HEATED SOCKS AT NIGHT 😭
I just wear thermals underneath my bike gear and I'm fine
I wish I was lali approved
✅
me watching this video for myself lmao
Imagine you're shopping in RevZilla and Lali walks in, it would really hard not to just walk up and hug her, she's just irresistible. Maybe I'll just ask if I can hug her and she'll say yes😍
Actually horrific to read
@@eclecticveil you need a hug 🫂
@AntiParallali ¨Lali¨the Cardos are amazing we took a ride with my Bro in New Orleans and I already had my unit he bought his for the trip and we tested them, three things were amazing, the easy party connectivity was the first one, the second one was that If I took a call on my unit it paused the party and I could take my call private and when I ended it sent a notification I was back so my bro knew I was back and stopped the singing thinking he was alone on his side. And Third, damn the distance we could be two street lights apart and the quality of the audio was flawless
😎😎😎😎😎😎
It's even worse when you get older and fat. My suit barely fits me. had to remove the shoulder pads. 😞48 came so fast.
I don’t drive anything in ice
What is your cutoff temp? How cold does it have to get to for you to say "it's too cold?"
I guess when the bike won't start 😅
Around freezing for me. I should mention that I wear an open face dirt helmet at the moment (came from dirt; been on the road for a few months), and that’s about when I start to not be able to feel it after a minute of riding. I bet I’ll be able to go a bit lower with a face shield and a solution for hands.
I wish I could find gf like you... Sheesh 🤓
Good thing I’m not buying for me lol
LMAO!!! 1:52-1:57 🤢🤢🤢
