Ben, I think everybody skips over one very important step. You first have to extend and put the sail forward during the jump and then you start pulling on your back hand and compressing. That's my mantra; Extend, compress. If you dont first extend, you get these really low rotations which are completely out of control. You see this happen a lot, especially with people that are slightly scared. So first extend on the jump, then pull in and compress.
still trying to do forwards that land clean... best forward loop video ever watched 1. get the back hand BACK 2. "at least leave the wave before you try to pull in" 3. bring the back hip to the back hand thanks ben. can't wait to go into the water again.
Thanks Ben, Great video. I always thought I had my hand way back. Being filmed it showed, that it had been just a few inches. So that seems a crucial point, and it explains my blue and green back 🙃
Number 1 Tip? BEAR OFF!!! (downwind course). This lets the sail naturally cross over the board. Otherwise backslap (at best)! Number 2, extend front arm as far out as possible... Everything else helps finish the move but not as critical as 1 and 2 when learning.
Funny. All the pros talk about moving the back hand back and sheeting in. There is only one mention from Mark Hosegood about throwing the sail forward. Watch the slowmo when Hosegod is talking and see how far forward his front arm is. Watch all the other clips, especially the big stalled ones and to initiate the rotation the sailors are throwing the rig forwards. Admittedly this is as a result of moving the back hand way back and sheeting in, but I'm surprised more of them are not talking about the way the sail movement initiates the rotation. None of them mention reaching forwards with the front arm, but all of them do!
@@ojchilton Totally, absolutely, raising the rear elbow up is also huge, it helps move and keep the sail forward. Stalled forwards emphasize all of these points.
So to re-cap, it's something to do with putting your hand back and there's twenty two different ways to do it. Oh, and you could end up in hospital. Think I'll just watch.
Hi Marko.. Ok.. Could you send me some download Links to Music you would like us to use? To the actual track not just a website.. (Rights Free) ..cheers mate 👍🏻
