This hits me a little😅 i took my oath taking ceremony alone (2018) and i wished i was with my family or someone to congratulate me after the ceremony…i just congratulate myself by having a american cheeseburger on my way home😅…Congratulations kabayan💯🎉🇵🇭🇺🇸

I went by myself too and it was no big deal with me … after I’m done I left and went back to work

I can relate how you feel..I became a US Citizen here in New York in 2018.I was so happy, nervous,excited but, emotional because my entire family still in the Philippines..The best thing was I brought my husband & two boys to share my very special moment..to become an American Citizen! congratulations! when i did my oath in sacramento, california, i took the day off from work. kako, special day yun e. we took the oath in the morning. right after that, in the afternoon, i went straight to the post office to file for my passport. that was one of the things na talagang gusto ko makuha. it took almost a month bago ko makuha yung passport. i could have paid more para mas mabilis pero kako, d naman ako nagmamadali. after that, i realized, hindi na totoo yung kasabihan na minsan lang ikakasal. mas totoo yung minsan ka lang mag oath taking.
Congratulations! I remember when I had my oath taking back in June of last year there were 5 of us and we had to do our oath ceremony in a parking lot outside the uscis building because of covid. I can totally understand the happiness/ excitement you're feeling! Congratulations again!

You and I have a similar situation when I applied for my citizenship back in 2014, in the process of a divorce and away from family. I cried too in the car after the interview; very emotional moment and bec it was such a big deal for me. I was also feeling jealous of others as they have their family to celebrate with while I was alone. I also asked somebody to take my photo with the American flag. Kinda sad looking back of being alone in this kind of special moment.
Anyway, good luck on everything and I hope you enjoy your daughter as much as you can as they grow way too fast.

I had my oath taking few hours ago. It was a same day oath taking! I’m so happy and so fortunate I have my parents with me. The feeling was great!
I’m also living here in Texas for almost 5 years now. I’m fixing to apply for citizenship too. Thank you for this❤️. Congratulations 🎉🍾🎈 ❤️

Congrats 🎈🍾🎊🎉. I got my Citizenship September 2005, mag isa rin ako ng mag oath taking ceremony. I remember nag apply ako by my self nde ko pina alam sa family ko, Kc American Citizens na silang lahat at ako na lang ang nde Citizen, nalaman na lang nila na Citizen ako ng araw ding yon na dala ko ang aking Certificate as my Citizenship. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I’m so happy for you! My interview is scheduled on March 2nd! You got me emotional when you talked about doing this alone cause I may also have to go to the interview and (hopefully) oath taking ceremony by myself 😭😭😭

I remembered mine was 2015, im also alone in my oath taking… mind you all the processing im with my 1yo son. Even in my interview im with my son, im glad they are very understanding about that.. and yeah i did it. Remembering those days really made me happy. Congrats to you… stay strong healthy and happy.

It takes them a long time now to be processed because of covid...just be patient and try to call them to get updated

You don’t have to cry just be happy. When I took my oath taking I was by myself too. That is life here in America learn to survive alone. Next dual citizenship so you can also stay in Philippines you will have 2 passports

Ako rin mg ibang citizenship na.dati ok na ako Permanent resident ako but since nagka anak na ako at citizen dito kung san ako so naisip ko na maging citizen na din kasi mas advantage na pareho kami ng citizen.
