You nailed with "the movie doesn't allow proper time for backstory". They really should've given the movie about 8 more minutes devoted to fleshing out the backstory so the film would make a little more narrative sense
It's a good thing they made the first movie for that!!!
I think 16 minutes longer would've been a good idea
Maybe not a War Criminal from Earth's perspective, but definitely a Terrorist/War Criminal from Hala's Perspective or other Galactic Superpower's perspectives. Come to think of it, Carol would probably be branded as a Traitor on Hala as well.
Makes you wonder how Thor is seen by Frost Giants for the stuff he did to them?
@@PredsjednikGustavo._ The Frost Giants expected that from Thor, they just needed a reason to end the truce, to attack Asgard. Remember, Loki showed them the way in first, so obviously they would expect retaliation from Asgard, or in this case, from Thor.
@@thedeathgod1995 I meant it makes you wonder how he is seen by them
Osama Bin Danvers
that's what happened when you're vigilante do as you please with powers
I liked the dichotomy of Captain Marvel trying to save the day, but actually becoming the villain to that civilization in the process. This reshapes Dar Benns actions as heroic. This movie has layers. Rewatching today in Imax 3D!
Agreed 👍 people say it was a mess but it made complete sense
I just wish they played into that angle more instead of on its humor. The movie feels like it was butchered to pieces, but there was a genuinely engaging story that was in there somewhere in the mess it was turned into.
@@callmev3531Love & Thunder suffered from this as well. God’s being killed should have been serious but all the jokes weighed it down.
@@callmev3531I do wish they leaned into that aspect more but that is not because the story is a mess, it’s because they trimmed down on all that extra stuff to keep the main plot moving along and engaging which is their quantum entanglement due to Dar Benn coming for revenge.

Reading the War Crime statute literally has me wondering how the hell is {redacted} not facing international justice right now in real life
Because all the world leaders are guilty is why.
Bibi is a war criminal
I think that was partially the intention at that specific choice of words. Smart.
Because:
1. most of the world has been gaslit for 75 years,
2. it’s easier to dehumanize people seen as the lower class
3. governments don’t serve humanity, they serve greed
But right now, people everywhere should feel like they are absolutely f**ked if we don’t have a huge paradigm change. You’re seeing the true colors of the “leaders”.
Fiction.
Did Captain Marvel Committed WAR CRIME. In The Marvels?
Reality.
Did {redacted} Use of White phosphorus as a weapon on Civilians and Hospital In {redacted} Strip A WAR CRIME and against HUMAN RIGHTS?
Answer: YES IT IS!!!
I LOVED the Marvels but i reeeeally wish they had spent more time talking abt Carols life. I love this character and would like to see it developed further!
agreed
I don’t know if it’s a « war criminal » but it definitely echoes when the West intervenes in the Middle East or Asia and kills a government (for noble reasons) and leave the place as is to fall apart.
This is interesting to see in the MCU.
Was I the only one who ‘raised the roof’ and said “hollaaaaa” when they showed the subtitle for Hala? 😅 I also told my husband that their planet sounds delicious.
Why would Dar-Benn's "30 years" be 30 EARTH years? Surely it'd be 30 HALA years, which are almost definitely going to be different.
B/C there are jumps through Hexs in space, (worm holes from point A to B), there is no time dilation in the MCU 616
@@_jake_moMost planets, a year would be based on one orbit around the planet's solar body. Unless Hala also takes ~365.25 Earth days to orbit their star, then the years would be different. Has nothing to do with FtL "time dilation".
It's a matter of semantics, 30 Earth years or 15 10 5 100 Kree years It's all the same.
I mean they are also speaking English so..
@@IllusiveBunny every advanced culture speaks English no matter where in the universe you are.
With war crimes like this, I'm surprised it wasn't a Captain America story.
Not a war criminal but definitely borderline and a type of story line Marvel needs to explore more often. Need more controversial, violent, devastating insanity. The snap was so devastating we all loved it and there were many many stories they could’ve piggy backed afterwards. They’ve hardly covered any. More about what happened in Hala is what this movie should’ve been about.
Im not a Comics reader, but I used to play DC's injustice and LOBO was a space bounty hunter I think. Marvel needs someone like that going around planet to planet destroying cities, killing thousands, and having no remorse. Kind of a Ronan(hawkeye) of space. If CM fought them that would be cool.
By definition, it is a war crime.
@@spideymcgee4718there is no such thing as a “war crime”. This is an anti-concept. War is the negation of laws, the negation of rules. You’re killing people… what makes you think the rules of civil society apply?
@@spideymcgee4718Whose definition? Who is at war? Whose law are we talking about? If anything you can say it’s a terrorists attack.
agreed, there's consequences
You know what is a crime? Not to reference Rhodey’s “Boooom looking for this?!” in a while 🤓🤣
Bye y’all!
“30 years” is not 30 Earth years. Time works differently on other planets due to their rotation on their axis & revolutions around their sun/star. Their “30 years” might be centuries worth of Earth years, might be 7 days on Earth.
I think months on Hela were Years on earth
You seem to confuse how we track time vs how it works.
I mean they are also speaking English so..
@@MrButchersTube you seem to confuse how other planets would track time vs how/why we track time the way we do.
It was definitely 30 earth years. I doubt a planet would dry up of water, air and have a dying sun within 9 days lol
If anyone's commiting war crimes, it's Dar Benn
Moreso Acts of war
Both.
This movie honestly had so much potential
2:59 Vibranium, not adamantium
Yeah I’ve been scrolling the comments, even went to other videos and I tried but couldn’t find who asked?
Michael Jackson voice:
You've been hit by....
You've been struck by....
A Captain Marvel
Why not just leave the skrulls where thanos retired after the snap?
Because that is probably is Kree held space.
I doubt many of them would feel comfortable living where a genocidal maniac lived.
@@SpiderManMCUniverseWell, I mean Carol is responsible for more than one genocide in that movie, so they shouldn't want to live on Earth than either
I think the problem that Marvel Studios is facing is that moviegoers don't view each film as being critical to the greater narrative. Marvel Studios is taking too long to introduce a "big bad villain" that connects each film. Disney + subscribers may see a connection, but many moviegoers don't have Disney +, and therefore don't see the connection that each film has to the overarching multiverse saga. The great thing about the MCU is that all films were interconnected, but now that the story is split between Disney + and theatrical releases, some of that interconnectedness may be lost for many moviegoers.
The problem that they are having is they are using kang. And using him wrong. Loki should have Been the first project on phase 4 and then jhonathan majors needed to appear in every project in one way or the other, a present day threat, a present day background important figure in this area, a historical figure mentioned, a post credits scene, a Voice on the other end of a phone call with the powerbroker. Even just a background extra in and around something important. That is how you build up kang dynasty. Kang is coming and is everywhere. Branches or not.
You know how long it took for Thanos to appear 10-12 years.
If u can afford a trip to the movies you can afford disney + if its that important to you
@@Markcrazeer unfortunately he can't do that
@@MarkcrazeerI disagree that method wasn’t needed to build Thanos
This was a very interesting, cool video. Thank y’all
Vision is made of vibranium-infused living tissue, *NOT* adamantium-infused living tissue. We've had absolutely *NO* mention of adamantium in the MCU yet.
Chill it was probably a mistake
I really like how Monica is always connected to destroyers 😂
We don't know it was brains hooked up rather than consciousness transfer.
They still had systems that served the supreme intelligence, they should be able to pick up the pieces.
You seen idiocracy? I wouldnt be so sure
The Hala conflict is the Captain Marvel2 we deserved
The thing is how did that AI control the sun and environment? That was on the people who were left who apparently didn’t have any type of govt or hierarchy.
I wish the movie focused on this more, it makes for a very compelling drama and uncomfortable parallels: it plays out like a good Startrek episode.
(What happens when someone blows up the computer that a whole society was built around and the society/planet can’t function without it)
But, also that's probably the only reason they signed the treaty in the first place. They knew they couldn't win against the Nova Corp. Not, because they wanted to.
Carol is a war criminal in the comics too. Keeping it synergistic
It’s almost like there should’ve been a captain marvel 2 movie before this one lol
Several war crimes actually
Yeah, the studio definitely should've made this clearer. I guess we can cross our fingers someone will address it later, but I'm not holding my breath.
I thought Vision was made with Vibranium, they haven’t even introduced Adamantium to the MCU?
Marvel could still save the Captain Marvel franchise buy establishing The Marvels as a completely diferente franchise, directly connected to the Captain Marvel franchise, and making the Captain Marvel 2 they should've made in the first place.
The next movie should be The Trial of Captain Marvel.
The trial I am waiting for ... could only come in another 2 or 3 phases ... the trial of Reed Richards for saving the life of Galacticus. .... or maybe, if they ever do the Pheonix saga right, the trial of Jean Grey and the X-men for what the Pheonix force does.
Haven’t read them since 1995 or whatever but the avengers executed the supreme intelligence in operation: galactic storm (later retconned, of course). Would be a good reference for this video
How does destroying the supreme intelligence end up messing up their sun?
I can’t help but wonder how the Kree Civil War affected the events of Agents of Shield!
The Marvels acutely takes place in late November to December 2026 not 2025
The closest thing to a galactic law enforcement agency was destroyed though thanks to Thanos (RIP Nova Corps).
I feel like a lot of the Kree/Skrull conflict feels like a massive MCU retcon if you think about it too much. It almost felt like there were two timelines in the MCU after watching THE MARVELS lol as Hala really must have gone downhill since Ronan kicked the bucket ten years ago. It's not like Ronan was all about this annihilator life or regretting the loss of the Supreme Intelligence back in GOTG 1. Heck in GOTG 1 Hala was rioting over the peace accords (and where was Carol here?). Also in GOTG 2, Ego was ready to assimilate Hala. No mention of the Supreme Intelligence or annihilator.
Because it is.
Well they had several leader and civil wars over the 30 years. So they could just say it was during a brief time of peace between a set of civil wars. In reality it’s a retcon.
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
By the way Captain Marvel had leave people behind to save the others Skulls. There were no ships to take the others.
There is no Geneva Convention in space.
Marvel shouldve stuck with the formula that worked. 3-4 movies with a milestone Avengers movie. Rinse and repeat. They ruined what they had by oversaturating their own market. I stopped paying attention because it became too hard to follow it all or even figure out what they are even trying to build to. Should have kept it simple.
3:35 i wonder if captain marvel actually know that rhodey actually skrull 😂
Good video
Them skipping over this and how they handled it is one of the dbest parts of this db movie lol
please make a video explaining Monica's powers and how the three got connected
Definitly a war crime like Optimus prime did in dark of the moon
WATCH it for fun, Not for Goosebumps 💀💀
So are you guys going to cover Monarch: Legacy of Monsters?
This whole movie could have been a spider if these ladies listened to each other instead of cutting people off mid sentence to leave and do something drastic.
I see what you are doing, and I want to say thank you.
Sounds like a good idea for the Kree to get Michael Korvac.
I think it's crazy thst the jree and earth have the same measurements of time. 1 yr equals one of our yr
Just if Marvel change the villain to the Gladiator from the Creed Empire this would of been freaking awesome movie.
yes
Why would you assume that a fictional entire galaxy and different species would abide by real earth wartime laws
Please cover Hunger Games Songbirds and Snakes!!!
Pretty much.
So the real big bad in the MCU is the writers….GOT IT!
No
Yes.
What is the Supreme Intelligence if not Kree brains persevering?
No, and neither did Chopper goddamnit
Using the US military as moral compass is lowest bar😂😂😂
The ends don't justify the means.
Not to mention the sheer scale of it all and the, as far as we know, disregard for the potential consequences. If I took out the governing body of a galactic empire, I would assume millions, if not billions of people, would die in the fallout.
Luke Skywalker looks around sheepishly
That utopia that thanos made isn’t enough for the skrulls?
short answer is yes
Actually the marvels should take place in 2026 because its post secret invasion.
Ms. Marvel is in september-october timeframe in 2025 and of course secret invasion is after that, and after guardians holiday special
Like OZ in Wizard of OZ?
what if 30 years on hala is actually like 5 earth years or something it is in a different galaxy after all
No.
There’s no Geneva Suggestions in space
Indeed I am with Those Poor Kree's. 😄❤️
Kree was at war b4 carrol. Their very "best and brightest" weren't criminals, as well?😂
Exactly what i think
Anyone else confused about the fact that Nick Fury is back on earth after all of S.I. Didn't he not want to come back now? In the beginning he simply walked into Kamla's home. At the end, I know the circumstances were hard here, he was not freaking out. I feel like the all of S.I. was just reversed because Fury is back on earth.
I mean he isn't staying there he came back because it two of his best are teleporting they all went back to sword after the mess was saved
@@lightdarksoul2097 Yes I agree with that, but I think Marvel could have capitalized on releasing S.I. after The Marvels and making Fury's fear of Space a result of Monica going to another universe. Then at the end he comes over his fear and is back to normal.
Let's just pretend Secret Invasion didn't happen. It's easier for everyone that way. 😂
(In reality, The Marvels was originally supposed to come out first, and I bet things would've flowed a bit better had that happened.)
Unrelated to the video, but im sincerely asking for captions or available transcripts of your videos. You say amazing but i cant understand all of them 😔
Vision made out of vibranium not adamantium
1:10 that neck😂
Nothing less is expected from a former US Militant.
So nothing that fury did in secret invasion meant anything to this movie great 🤣
Supreme intelligence for me, would probably take the form of Taylor Swift.
Some fictional universes deserve annihilation. WTG Carol, WTG Chopper.🤑
I came here for the MCU deets and all I got was this Japanese snack
I'm happy to always come here with people that still like marvel and arnt o negative all the time
did you just say vision is made of adamantium?
I honestly find Dar- Benn is reasonable lol
6:37 are you sure this is the best time for that type of video?....
Please do Scott Pilgrim
Ur like the only person not shitting on marvel... A breath of fresh air
loki was the highlight of this year
I saw this within seconds of it coming out and wanted to just say how much I love ur content thanks for the brake downs to explain things I would never get without u
What about Secret Invasion?
Is it related to Carol action?
No, there is no war crime for destroying the AI. They just needed to work out the additional governess instead of the infighting...
“Rhodey” being mad at Cap Marvel for not being there… 😮
also for a major plot which accusses someone of something like war crime there should be some screen time reserved to justify it or deny it, but the director was more interested in working on cat videos for the cute factor.
It’s been well established that she’s a criminal. Lol
we need a,new, rockstar agents of shield video
hahahahahahah what did I just read on my home page
