I had a Zs 120 in the same colour it broke down on a 50 mile trip with a dead crank sensor so it was left with a garage. Who replaced the crank sensor it then broke down again after I collected it. I had it recovered back to my house. Had a look at the wiring found nothing wrong with it. But with cranking it over the battery had gone flat. So i replaced the battery it started and stayed running. 😊 Well done on getting home
What a nice thing to do, Jay knows it will get the retirement it deserves and you have an excellent steer/content machine. The V6 is sooo sweet, I used to tool about in a 156 V6 and the Rover V6 sounds as good. Rover/Busso/VR6 are all top naughties engines
Well done on getting home without a recovery. Now then the BIG question is whats its name ? If doesnt have one may i suggest Richard Whitlelay to continue the countdown theme
Wonderful road trip video. Reminded me of the ones Derek from Vice Grip Garage does where there's "ankle vents" in the floorpan, sticking brakes, gaffer tape holding things together, a cliffhanger of a coolant issue, getting home at twilight - its got it all😊 What a fabulous project! The sound of that V6 is addictive. This is going to be a super addition to the fleet!
I REALLY like that MG ZS. The blue, the body styling, the alloys, even the interior. It’s definitely worth saving and I totally agree about it being a future classic and going up in value. I would have one if it wasn’t for the tax
Was nice of James thats a better rover and for nothing the floor pan is easy to fit and weld up sort out and any other bits it needs to good to break up for parts
Definitely a keeper and worth doing up and if you can get it under cover a bit of an investment car once all the work has been done depending on the outcome of the MOT of course and I would have thought you have parts knocking around in the yard
I quite liked the MG Z cars. This one is one of the best because it’s so silly. That big daft spoiler and its gills in the wings are so comical, I don’t really like such ostentatiousness but on such an incongruous vehicle and applied by the manufacturer rather than Darren on his mum’s drive it is the right sort of funny. If I were forced to have an MG of this vintage it would be a toss up between this or a bright red ZT estate.
When it's over-the-top as standard there's no need to mess with it. Darren usually prefers his own idea though, and would buy this just for the kit, to graft onto his Vectta
@@ProjectNigel Indeed. It is OTT with all the wings and vents and the bright colour, but proper car designers know when to stop. It's also nice to see all the add on stuff in the same colour as the rest of the car, rather than that distinctive pale grey colour I believe is called 'Unfinished'.
incredibly kind of James. He knows it will be in good hands. Looking forward to see what you do with it Mustardo
Yes he is very generous
I really like this, I hope it gets the tlc it needs. Really kind gesture by James what a top man
Now then what a nice looking bit of kit. Lovely colour. Fix up the niggles and tuck it away for special occasions.
The floorpan may well be a lot more than a niggle 😅
I suppose Alegroman can wave his magical sparkly wand over the problem areas.
Well it got you back to the yard , fair play to James.
Did Boaty bonnet face talk at James alot this time ?
We didn't see James

So it was just the battery all along?
Top blokes James & Boaty 👏👏
Looks well in that colour ❤️
No chance of the boot flying open is there 😂
The boot is unlikely to open with that huge wing 😅

What an ace car, but then I'm biased.
Definitely hang on to it as I plan to with mine.
Yours doesn't get seen very often does it?

We'll see when the carpet comes up
@@ProjectNigelAdam who did all the welding on my ZS is your man for the job
Think you are onto a winner, with a bit of work and tlc you will have a very sought after car, lovely colour too
It's nice. You deserve a present! And well done Boaty for helping you out on his day off!
Really enjoyed watching the video and what a great gift excellent content
Thank you 😊
James is a top chap yes, he reviewed my Citroen C2 some years ago. Will be interesting to see how you get on with that lovely MG. Good luck!

Me too!
The front passenger side. 😂😂 Just watched JayEmm before this one
James is a wonderful chap :)
He absolutely is 😊
Obviously, the taped down bonnet helped the fuel consumption!
I reckon it did 😅
Woo. A future Collectable? Worth putting it away.... somewhere DRY methinks 😜. Welcome to the "Free Car Club." Good job nursing it home 👍🤪.
Are you hooked on drinking the coolant now ? 🤣🍻
