Thank you for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it and so glad you found them helpful! I'm working towards getting back to filming videos. My practice just got super busy lately so it's been hard to fit in. These comments are really helpful.
Thank you so much for creating this video series, Jessica. I'd heard of ACT but never really knew what it was. Now that I've seen this overview, I feel like I've found something that will really work for me! Thank you!
I absolutely love your videos. I can tell you are a wonderful therapist - you are genuine, caring, and understanding. By the way you speak, I can tell this all comes naturally and from your heart, you truly want to help not only your clients but to so many viewers. Thank you for taking your time in making these videos for us!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge on ACT I just recently became a counselor at a company where their core curriculum is ACT I'm enjoying it so much I love the way you present it though its really helping me a lot thank you!
Absolutely love your videos! I am starting a job as a mental health social worker. I was wondering where you might suggest learning ACT from as a complete beginner? I have Psychwire has some good courses? Are there any authors that explain it well enough that I can slowly start bringing those ideas into my practice? I'm also interested in studying and practicing narrative therapy, how well do you feel that links with ACT? Thank you!
Amazing, after so many research eventually I found this meaningful guide, thank you! and would be great if you make a video about setbacks, because it's a huge problem against progress:)
I appreciate your videos. Thank you. Also, in your individual sessions, what is the ratio of you talking vs the client talking? I am asking as a prelicensed therapist. Thank you again.
Thanks for commenting! Honestly, it depends on where we're at in therapy and where the client is in their journey, but all talking I do should be done with a purpose and create space for client to share, process, reflect, etc.
Thanks to you and others who are doing good stuff for us or for whatever reason doing good, though intention is the thing to begin with. But, let's say, I've a problem with something of which name I don't know; I just want to know its name now. Actually, the problem is that my father's successful business got downed accidentally, or someone/a bad person schemed to do so, etc. But there's no effect on me. I tried to do so by trying to make myself realize that I must do something for my own benefit in these circumstances. But it turned out to be meaningless, like it's not a reality for me, or I didn't get charged up to do so. And, nowadays, I feel like I'm not living in the present, nor in the past or future as well, as there's no imagination or image, or picture turned out in my head (maybe a blurry something, though it's the least possible thing that I think in pictures while not living in present as reality. Besides, since I can't recall even an instance when something blurry-type imagination happened). So I don't live in any picture-oriented... And not living in the present as well, just like it's not reality for me, and I can't help to make myself realize.
Hey there! Thanks for letting me know. I'm still learning what volume to put the audio at. I hate when I get startled by loud videos so I may have over-corrected too much. Appreciate the insight.
I really love the idea of reflecting on your wins for the day. I’m going to start doing that.
Awesome! Let me know how it goes!
I was introduced to ACT from my therapist today and your content really resonates with me. Thank you for publishing these videos! *subscribed*

Great suggestion! I'm hoping to get back to filming videos more regularly. I'm going to write this down. Thanks for sharing.
Your videos represent act very well.
Oh I'm so happy to hear you say that. I'm glad they connect with you.
Jessica, my instant previous comment was much bigger, but I hope you'll reply as it's an essential thing rather than a nonsensical one.

Hi Dr. Jessica, do you think ACT can help with empty nest syndrome?
