This sounds basic, so please correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the idea of “ fake it till you make it “ i.e. Being proactively delusional , giving yourself false confidence and then committing to manifest what you said. This idea seem ideal for this kind of behavioral therapy. It might be a little simplifying matters, but I think that’s a good place to start or at least try.

I know you said they last 3-10 minutes and I’ve always seen/heard they are short, but can be longer but only rarely personally I haven’t had any that were shorter than 25-30 minutes though most of the ones I’ve had are over a half hour of ig repetitive panic attacks the moment I start to calm a little and my body isn’t so tense it’s tingling it builds right back up to being completely overwhelming could I assume might have a panic disorder

Absolutely love your videos! I am starting a job as a mental health social worker. I was wondering where you might suggest learning ACT from as a complete beginner? I have Psychwire has some good courses? Are there any authors that explain it well enough that I can slowly start bringing those ideas into my practice? I'm also interested in studying and practicing narrative therapy, how well do you feel that links with ACT? Thank you!

I have a long story to explain after I watch this video… Explanation (Edit): Backstory- I’ve always had this.. atp, “curse” I guess you could say, where a guy I love/like goes off with someone else. Sometimes it’s like a “act like they like me then go with another girl” type of thing. Or it’s “He likes me (i had proof from him) but is already in a relationship” Or even “I’m would kiss her and (another) her” said in front of me on my birthday by my first crush. Anyways, it’s not just that, but my family chosees others: my cousins talk to friends more, how my parents divorced, etc. And my friends too. So this guy I like dated this girl and It would make me feel like I was in a minor panic. But now I’ve moved on because we’re at different schools now. So I started liking this other guy named Kris who was acting interested in me, but dated someone else a few days after I started liking him. Anyways, they broke up and he went from girl to girl. He said to his friends how he can’t keep a good relationship. I said “Well you’d have a good one if you got with me.” He said some mean things to his friends, and his friends tried getting us together (although their methods were to throw his hat at my desk). Anyways, I “got over 💀” him. I tried. I thought I did. I really did think I was done… Now- So now, i was talking with friends and i said how i was too single to be in their conversation about their boyfriends. They hugged me and i looked over and kris was watching. My friend said “what about the guy from homecoming?” I said “he was just a friend. He said some rude and hurtful things anyways.” So i looked over and kris has a little angry look on his face while looking at me, his friend lowkey smirking idk how to explain his expression 💀. So we go to the commons. I have this guy-friend wyatt (who hurt me by dating someone else which I blame myself for since one day I didn’t talk with him when he was single) and so I was talking to him and his friend, looking over and I saw Kris upset and sad. He looked at me, away for a while, and down at his phone. He walked off after a bit. I remembered about risk club and i walked to the doors, looked over and kris looked at me, away, and his friends looked like they knew he wasn’t okay. I went inside. He looked at me through the window. I started to like him again. Then.. then i realized I love him. Like, HARD love. And so he’d look at me sometimes in the halls. Then other times he would ignore me as if he was jealous (like jealous guys do). And so ofc, he was talking to a girl who’s a friend one day. And in my last class, a girl who’s not interested in him like that was talking to me about it to see what was wrong. She said he’s single and she’ll mention me to him (idk if she has yet or not). Anyways, so yesterday he was in ISS and at lunch (bc they are allowed to the lunchroom only for lunch otherwise in the classroom for ISS) I saw him at the pantry. I was there with a friend to get something. He comes to the other side of me and was probably between the hand and the elbow away in length (for my arm). And so when lunch is about over, I go to the doors and noticed him looking at me from the gym. (Another thing is that he gives me huge stomach butterflies and my face gets hot around him.) Now, today, he gets that same length away from me in the hall. I remembered that when a guy is that close he likes you (according to the you-tubers). Later on, he comes into my 7th class just at the door and I have instant butterflies and very hot face, and my heart starts to pound. He left and came back with the permission to be in the class for the period (since its not his class). And so after a few minutes, he gets up and goes to his best friend Tyler. All I heard was Tyler say to him, “are you going to tell her?” Also, he looked at me a few times too. But my teacher said he didn’t and was like “he doesn’t like you find someone else.” But i walked off after the talk and I’m in the waiting place again to be picked up (no risk this time, a week after the other incident where he got jealous). So He comes out and talks to friends and shows them this thing on his phone. He walks to his other friend who was near a few girls. He shows the friend whats on the phone, then shows this girl what it was. She was too close to him (from my angle). [Another thing: he was talking to 2 different girls outside today while I was at lunch, made me cry.] Anyways, so when we head to the commons today, I said out loud “I’m so fucking tired of always being hurt”. My heart pounded, some tears fell. I was going to talk to wyatt about it, but his Gf was there so I just stood against the building. I noticed Kris was facing his back to me and on his phone. I started feeling fearful and my heart pounded and I was breathing fast. I was also occasionally looking at him and crying. I grabbed my Sweatshirt where the hood was (the part where it splits for the head to go through) and I said “I can’t talk to him when I’m having a panic attack”. A bit latter, he looked at me (a little concerned look on his face) and looked away again. When I leave I gave a solid look back at him and his was sort of blank but also worried (from the looks of it). So I don’t know what to do, I’ve noticed I have hidden anxiety based off having 100% relation to every anxiety video I have seen on this app. So I don’t know if this counts, but it was definitely a type of fear and panic I’ve never felt before. Just him and that girl so close for a minute was enough to cause this ‘attack’ or whatever. Problem is, I love him so much he’s stopped a Su*c*de thought I had. Even worse, I can’t help but fantasize in my head about him. And even worse? The thought of him leaving me, getting hurt, or choosing another again… is my number one fear now. And another thing I forgot to mention- when he talked to the girls from lunch, my mind was everywhere thinking, ‘why? He likes me he has to. I’ll hurt those girls. Does he care? Does he like me? Am i enough? Do i meet his popular girl standards, or general standards? I have to because of how he acts. Is he giving mixed signals? What do i do?”… and another thing, when he talked to the girl he showed the phone to, I was like, “what are you doing?” Thinking like he has me, a girl who’d treat him right, like, right here. What is he doing talking to her? Messing me up? Messing things up for us? I just don’t know what to do anymore. 😔💔

Thanks to you and others who are doing good stuff for us or for whatever reason doing good, though intention is the thing to begin with. But, let's say, I've a problem with something of which name I don't know; I just want to know its name now. Actually, the problem is that my father's successful business got downed accidentally, or someone/a bad person schemed to do so, etc. But there's no effect on me. I tried to do so by trying to make myself realize that I must do something for my own benefit in these circumstances. But it turned out to be meaningless, like it's not a reality for me, or I didn't get charged up to do so. And, nowadays, I feel like I'm not living in the present, nor in the past or future as well, as there's no imagination or image, or picture turned out in my head (maybe a blurry something, though it's the least possible thing that I think in pictures while not living in present as reality. Besides, since I can't recall even an instance when something blurry-type imagination happened). So I don't live in any picture-oriented... And not living in the present as well, just like it's not reality for me, and I can't help to make myself realize.
