  • I went so far down a rabbit hole for this movie that I almost wrote this whole script in a single night. Kudos to the team on the film(s) and the work they've put into this movie
Go check out their other BTS clips: / wickedmovie
I can't wait to see this movie and see how they've adapted it to the silver screen beyond the clips we've seen in trailers

Actually it would be called clockpunk
This refers to an aesthetic where the mechanical elements of the world are powered by gears much like a clock hence the name
I want to say this in the most respectful way possible and sound informative
I really enjoy this video and seeing you comparing both iterations of Wicked

You’re good, don’t worry. I used to steampunk as more people are going to be familiar with that term but also it’s used on more than one occasion in the official Grimmery from the stage production

This is such a delightful look at the technical aspects of what we've gotten to see of the film so far! All I've seen people talk about with this movie from that aspect is if the color grading is any good.
But there's so much more that goes into a movie like this, and this is a great showcase of all the different production elements, and how regardless of how it turns out, the teams behind it are dedicated to doing their best to make it feel as authentic as they can.

Everyone keeps complaining about things; I’m gonna keep talking about all the cool things that go unrecognized

I'm excited for the movie. I love the musical so much! The only thing I've wondered about was how the musical doesn't really mention what Nessa's father does, the book says he's a minister, and the movie says he's mayor or Munchkinland.

In the show he’s the governor, so I’m gonna guess ambiguous political/religious leader. He’s got power and that’s all that matters lol

I love your enthusiasm for the show. I highly recommend you read the book Wicked. And the rest of the books in the series. I really wanted to watch the movie. Unfortunately after you made the video, the girl playing Elfaba attacked the fans. All because a fan of the play, edited the poster to look more like the playbook.
I want to watch this movie because the story is so compelling. Unfortunately I can’t condone a actress bullying and disrespecting the fans that adore the source material…

I started reading it back in college but lost my copy. Just got a new one in hopes to get it done before I see it.
I can kinda see where shes coming from being upset with how it was edited as they took away all the things about her version of Elphaba that made it unique to her.

She didn't attack the fans. She was just upset at the poster edit (she overreacted, yes) but she did not attack any fans. I guess she didn't realize the consequences of quoting the poster directly instead of just screenshotting it.

She did not attack the fans and has shown so much grace and kindness in every other aspect of this project. People are human, give her a break, and move on.

She literally issued a public apology to the fans. Ariana Grande acknowledged that the actress playing Elfaba attacked the fans. The people handling the general promotion for the film acknowledged that she unfairly criticized the fans. Plus she doubled down on her accusation of being ridiculed based on skin tone. That it was the worst thing to happen to her, in her life. Nancy Green, Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou… they suffered a lot of terrible things due to the color of their skin. They faced it all with grace and courage.
Plus she admitted that she was wrong.
