That’s what happened to my Lexington when I barely got it. I did some research and it said that I got the code because of the side temperature probe. I called Pit Boss and they sent me a free one and I haven’t had anymore issues with it. Been two years that it happened. That’s a good idea Kevin of disconnecting it. And still be able to use your pellet grill because I had to wait for a week to get the part. Great video like always. Have a great week my brother.
Thanks, Robert! Yeah, you probably just needed to reseat that cable. But at least Pit Boss sent you a new probe! I think it's a manufacturing issue, but at least it's an easy fix, even if you have to replace the temp probe. I hope you have an awesome day, brother!👍✌️
Yes, I do, Mike! It's like getting your cook going and running out of propane. Or forgetting you're out of pellets. It's even worse with a mechanical issue, but this is an easy fix. I hope you have an awesome day, brother!👍✌️
Thanks, Luis! Apparently, it happens with other brands, too... But, it's an easy fix, and you can go ahead with a slight delay. Have an awesome day, brother!👍✌️🍻
You da man Kevin!! You know I’ve not had a single issue with my Pit Boss 850 and I’ve never cleaned that probe yet! Now that I say this, I probably will have a major issue issue when I get back home from work!😂
😂 I'm sure it will be fine, Brian!!! It's crazy that unplugging and plugging that cable back in clears the code. It's an easy fix, but of course it won't happen until you are headed out to do a cook. All is good!!! Have an awesome day, brother!✌️👍
Great help video …. These pellets are pretty easy to fix. I’ve fixed my clogged auger. Replace my motherboard and replaced my heating rod……. I clean my probe……. That dirty probe. Throws offf the temp gauge…. I cleaned mine and it fixed the temp issues
You got that right! There's really not much to them. I've fixed so many. And gained grills that people just don't want to take the time to fix. Have an awesome day!👍✌️
Hey thanks for the video. Unfortunately none of these tip or ideas fixed ERP code. I'm using it in the winter so I think the cold shut it down to quick. so after trying everything twice I decided to put my heat lamp on the temp probe for about 5 min. then unplugged it. at first the code still came on so i waited a couple of min. and was thinking I may need a new probe...I'll give er one more shot. and wallah it worked. PTL.
Thanks for checking this out! Yeah, I watched ScottysBackYardBBQ and I think he used a hair dryer, and it also fixed it. I'm glad you got it working like that. If anyone else asks me, I'll be able to recommend your way!👍👍👍
I had a jammed auger from hurricane humidity and water even though my Austin XL was covered… cleaned out the auger put everything back in place and I cannot stop getting an ErP code when I start it up. Any idea what I should do next? Online results all point to where to unplug and plug those wires in for the probe code, but I have had no success.
I'm sorry to hear this! I'm sure you've read on Google that if unplugging that wire doesn't work, you need to replace the temp probe. They aren't too expensive. But if it all got wet, I'd check that wire connection again, making certain it's the correct wire, and see if it's clean and not rusting. Otherwise, try replacing it. As for the humidity there in Florida. A guy let me know that he uses these www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CKYSZ31J/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_1?smid=A3TTLWB3O3TZXN&psc=1 and hangs one in his hopper. He swears by them. I myself have not tried them yet as it's dry out here in NM. Let me know what you end up doing, and I hope you have an awesome day!👍✌️
Oh, bummer! Ok so I don't have mine apart. But if you can see the board. Or reach up with your camera and try to get a Pic. On the board it should say where it goes. Like it probably has Tmp or something like that indicating where it goes. Or Google the wiring diagram. Sorry I can't be of more help.
According to Pit Boss. If you see L01 or L02 on your grill, these are simply just programming codes, not error codes. They will show at startup and then disappear quickly and the grill is still functioning properly. If you see flashing dots on your control board screen, it just means the igniter is on.
Ah, bummer!!! I hope this trick fixed it. We shouldn't have to be doing this, but if it works, it can save the family BBQ! I hope you have an awesome day!😀✌️
Bummer! You probably need to replace the temp probe. But it's really easy and they are bot very expensive. You just can't use your pit until it's fixed. I hope you can fix it soon. Have an awesome weekend!👍✌️
This is the 1st time I've had an issue with one of my Pit Bosses... And it was an easy fix. I guess I've been pretty lucky 😃 Have an awesome day, brother!✌️👍🍻
Thanks for checking this out! To each there own. I had an 1100 and a tailgater. Gave them to family, and 6 years now, they are still working great with no issues. This Lexington just needed a reseated cable. Really not a big deal. But, I also have a Lone Star Grillz Pellet Grill, a Recteq 380b, a Briskit, and they all do a great job. Have an awesome day!👍✌️

Sounds like you need to contact Pit Boss support. They'll either instruct you on how to fix it or send you a new controller board?
In the process of replacing my igniter my temp probe came off of the circuit board. I cannot figure out where it goes! Help

Pit boss grills are garbage they only last about a year. Parts are so expensive you might as well buy a new grilll .
a different Brand!
