Hi there, Dane! I found your channel while looking over Airforceproud95's videos. I'm 42 years old and I've always wondered about the procedure for banner pulling. I really enjoyed your videos. This was cool to watch! Well done!
That is one of the most interesting aviation videos I’ve ever seen. Excellent production. This could be an inexpensive fighter pilot test for naval aviators. If they can do this, they got what it takes.
I've always thought the banner was stowed. That is an awesome video. I wonder how high the AOA was when you grabbed it. Looked pretty steep, but could be the camera
It's about 30 seconds of danger followed by hours of not much. I actually lost a engine doing this and had to put it down in the marsh. The most dangerous part of that was the walk out of there ;-)
The only mildly dangerous part is when they get the banner and pull up sharply, if you pull up too late you will got the ground pretty hard but you will almost certainly survive, that bit isn’t as dangerous as it looks The most dangerous part is possibly stalling AFTER pulling up so sharply, so they have to level off quick enough, if they were to stall they would probably have enough altitude to continue or ditch safely

Great well shot video.. Great intro to joy of flying.
Nicely done! Great perspectives on what actually happens, Thank you!
Damn that looks really challenging, good work Dane!

Dope af
Crazy to see the airframe bending like that! How fast are you before pulling? How many g’s? Love the video!
That’s one heck of a way to build hours
Looks like a pretty powerful Cub. Which engine did you fit in it?
Look at you, Dane
Have a safe flight
how long do you fly at a time? is it the same sign all day? or do you switch to another?
How do you make sure the banner is flying right side up? I'd like to set the "set-up & tear-down". Interesting!
You can make a tight turn and see it since its so far behind you. Also make sure you got the right banner.
Butter
Ohhhh...
So THAT'S how pilots do that
This seems quite dangerous, but then again what would I know

Surprised he doesn't wear a life jacket
Ah ok
Was this the Chris Christie banner?
3:19 electronic device spotted in the cockpit being used by the PIC. Reported.
Airforceproud95 he probably forgot how to dead reckon and needed to check foreflight for directions to the nearest drank
its actually pilotage nice try dead reckon is time and distance
true. got my terms mixed up. better not do that on the written:P
Airforceproud95 What would he get in a land competition?
A really great video of banner towing ops. Nice job! Airforceproud95 glad you’re not Navy- we don’t like snitches.
Surprised you landed that POS, way to much hand movements. Stirring the soup much???
Where is your helmet? Andre would have a cow if he saw you towing without one.
